E.F. Caldwell Antique Neoclassical Bronze Mounted Marble Mantle Clock(Click to Enlarge) This clock. Crafted from vert de maurin green marble, has been attributed to Edward F. Caldwell. The mantel clock features a large round face with mounted bronze Roman numerals, scrolling rococo mounts and shell motif. The marble has some small chips and wear at the edges including light scratches. The gilt bronze shows traces of dirt, some pitting and rubbing. Minute hand is loose. The original movement has been replaced with an electrical movement, and its working condition is unknown. A similar Caldwell clock with identical face and comparable size, but with neoclassical figural mounts in patinated bronze, was sold at auction by Sotheby's in New York on April 22, 2010, in lot 64, for $20,000. WATERBURY No. 8 STANDING REGULATOR Up for sale in this auction is a Waterbury No. 8 Standing Regulator. The clock has been owned by a local family for many years and it is time for this fine timepiece to find a new home. The clock has the deadbeat escapement with a pinwheel escape wheel and retaining power. The movement is contained inside an iron box that has doors that open on the sides to access the movement. Clock also has a perfect 12 inch porcelain face with the sweep second hand. The clock has the original weight and crank for the clock. I looked the clock up in the Waterbury Clock Book that Tran Duy Ly authored. It is item 783-A on page 235. It lists 1905 as the date of manufacture and gives a value of $14.000. It also lists the clock height at 96.25 inches and this clock only measures 94 inches tall. Upon close examination. It appears ... morethat the top piece of the base was removable so that the clock would fit in a house with standard 8 foot walls. I do not have that piece so if you had a house where a clock over eight feet tall would fit. You could have that piece made off of the pictures in the book. The only other issue is the broken side glass; I have included a picture of that. The biggest issue with a clock like this is shipping. As you can see. The clock has a two-piece case so the shipping cartons will be smaller and easier to manage. I use Craters and Freighters because they simply do the best job of anyone. There is an outlet seventy miles from here and I would be willing to deliver the clock to them free of charge as part of the auction. You would be responsible for the preparation and shipping costs. You are also welcome to pick the clock up in Longview. WA at no cost to you. This clock is from a pre estate sale, a friend of mine was going through her parent's estate, she wanted to find someone who would appreciate these items, we looked over the clock, I could not find a name, and there is no key, I did hear it ticking a day after we had it unloaded in our shop, so it has potential, the ornate lion head was very common in the late 1800's to early 1900's, there is wear on the painted motif, it appears the pendulum is made of marble, it has some knicks, scratches, but is a solid piece, any questions or info appreciated, measures 11" tall, 17.5" wide, 7.25" depth, we do not know if it works. This is a really amazing piece that we think dates back to the beginning of the 1900's. The clock is housed in a solid bronze statue that features a cherub playing the harp and a woman looking down upon him. The base of the clock is marble with a red/pink and white swirl pattern. This is an absolutely beautiful piece with ornate decorations typical of the French style at the time. This piece comes with the key and the chime bell. The back of the bronze statue is marked"Made in France" and the back of the clock movement is marked"Horlogerie J Paris" and has a"Marquee Deposee" trademark. As well ... moreas the number"6867" stamped into the movement. We couldn't find any other marks that indicate exactly where or when this was made. This is an absolutely stunning piece that would make a great addition to any collection, and will add a real touch of class to any mantle piece! Condition: This piece is vintage and used with some wear but the springs are in great shape. When the clock is wound it goes for a short period before stopping. There is no pendulum included which it needs to keep going and the chime bell needs a nut to keep it screwed into place. There is some light wear and tarnishing to the bronze. Which is typical of bronze this age. There is some light wear to the marble base, mostly at the corners where the is a bit of wear. The bottom of this piece looks like it was repaired at some point in its history. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any questions before bidding. Exquisite enamel workmanship and case carving. An enamel face is decorated with Greek mythological figures. The hands are intact. The bottom of the clock displays another mask and foliated decorated plaque. The sides of the clock and the finial are also enamel. This clock is in working condition and has a key. The front glass door opens to reveal the plaque and winding holes. The clock stands 25" tall. The width measures 12"The clock is in excellent condition. Only a slight nip loss to the enamel finial on its tiny base. There are no wood losses. There are no enamel losses on the enamel plaques. The finial on the top needs to be re-glued. The enamel plaque of the ... moredial is signed but is in the lower right hand corner and I cannot read the signature with a loop. It looks to me like the signature is"A. Pellier" It is signed in gold script. I would have to take the clock apart to fully see the signature and I do not want to cause any damage to the clock. I have taken photos of the movement. Clock face 3" and whole front including wood is 6" It can stand on a desk or be hung from a wall- there's a hanger in the back. It looks very nice and old. I've wound it and it ticks but if tipped it slows so I can't guarantee how accurate it is. There is a very old split in the block that it's attached to but it's still solid. It looks like it split a long time ago.

Jacob Petit Old Paris porcelain mantle clock with shelf
A handsome and elegant signed Jacob Petit mantle clock with supporting shelf. The clock has a porcelain dial with Roman numerals in black and bears the inscription"Hry. Mare. A Paris. The dial is set around a brass rim with tooled beads in brass. The clock surround is a rich profusion of scrolls decorated in gilt and the lower part of the clock has a design of two birds fluttering on either side of a gushing fountain surrounded by garlands of roses and gilt scrolls. The sides and top of the clock are richly and profusely decorated in a luscious plum color with cartouches depicting floral sprays of roses, tulips, corn flowers and dahlias in rich tones of pink, blue, yellow, violet, and russet and this entire cartouche is surrounded by a decorative border of gilt scrolls. Below and above these are additional designs in gilt and the very ... moretop of the clock has a spray of gilt. The shelf of the clock is richly colored in the same plum color as the clock sides and top with elaborate gilt scrolls and garlands along the sides and front and a design of flowers along the front of the base in tones of pinks and blues. The brass cover at the back of the clock is missing, but the pendulum and key and all working parts are in order, though the clock will need to be fine tuned by an expert clock person to ensure it is in good running order. French Patinated Bronze Athena Clock Minerva Grand Tour Empire Gilt Spear Shield
Circa 1860- Extremely rare French Patinated Bronze Clock depicting Athena holding her Spear and Shield on a Rouge marble base. The clock stands 27.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide at the base. The Spear is removable and finely cast. The 6 inch dial has Roman Numeral cartouches and the detail to the shield is exceptional. Life like scene of Medussa's head with snakes as her hair turning anyone into stone who looks into her eyes. The zodiac calendar symbols are laid out on the outer rim of the shield. There is a Sphinx on the top of Athena's Helmet as well. The clock retains its original French 8 day time and strike movement stamped L Marti& Cie Medaille De Bronze and original hands as well. The Movement& Bezel/Dial are stamped 47 55 which means they are original to the case. The movement can be accessed from the rear of the ... moreclock. Approx. 1850-1880's) The inscribed Blondeau á Houdan figural clock has an ornately decorated bronze and alabaster footed base with a small round clock resting to its left and a brass female Fileuse. Or yarn spinner, leaning upon it. The female is dressed in a square bonnet, pulled back curls, and a ruffled bustle dress with a loosely tied corset. Her dress is ankle length, a vulgar attire at the time, indicating she was of the working class. She holds a spool in one hand while drawing out string in the other. The clock is all original with a pendulum and turn key is included. Measures approx. 14 1/2" wide x 13 3/4" tall x 5 1/4' deep. Exceptional Sevres Porcelain and Bronze Ormolu Clock Garniture Set. This came from a museum in Gettysburg PA that closed its doors. You will receive a book from the Museum showing this set displayed. The clock works& face are marked E& S Watson London. Clock strikes on the hour and 1/2 hour. The porcelain has a variety of marks& signatures. There is no damage to the porcelain. There are no breaks in the metal. The only condition issues I see are: One of the candelabra leans a little-I believe it could easily be fixed but I do not want to disassemble it. On the enamel decoration some of the turquoise pinpoint dots are gone. Lastly. Each candelabra has 8 screw on feet-one is missing from one of them. This does NOT affect the stability at all! This is an Original Antique L. Marti et Co Porcelain clock with Medaille De Bronze Stamped on the brass plate behind the bell. It has been recently serviced and runs very well.It is a gorgeous mantle clock. During the firing process the piece is not quite level so you have to shim it a tiny bit to make it level on your mantle. I have instructions on how to set up the clock that will come along with the clock itself. Due to age, there is a bit if crazing on the glaze. This is a hand painted piece, very ornate with gold accents. It is 12 tall. 12.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. THE PENDULUM HOLDER IS SLIGHTLY BENT AT THE TOP. THE GLASS IS CURVED. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY PAPER LABEL INSIDE, AS WELL AS A STICKER FROM A REPAIRMAN WHO LUBRICATED THE MOVEMENT IN 1879. THE FACE IS PAINTED TIN AND LOOKS ORIGINAL. THE HANDS ARE STEEL AND LOOK ORIGINAL, THEY HAVE VERY MINOR PITTING. Antigue Vintage R & Co Brass Carriage Clock Paris France
Estate found pre-owned R& Co brass clock made in Paris France. Doesn't seem to work. But might just need to be wound up, it has no key. Looks like there is a number 1105 with the letter L also on the bottom. Also seems as if someone fixed a spot on the face with some white paint as indicated in the above pictures.
