Vintage Coke-Cola Bottle Crate You are bidding on a Coke-Cola wooden bottle crate with wooden handle. The item is in very good overall condition with respect to its age. There is some cleaning that could be done on the interior of the crate that would brighten it up a bit but overall the condition is excellent for its age. The crate's sides are solid with the metal braces in the corners intact. The bottom of the crate shows wear but is in very good physical condition with no deep scratches or indentations. The crate does not have any cracks and the imprinting is still clear as you can see in the photos. The wooden handle is intact and in good condition. This is an old Shell Oil Company wooden crate that was used to hold 6 one gallon cans of'wet clutch oil' The box is very sturdy and solid. Even with the close up photos of the box, showing some surface damage. The box measures approx. 14' across and is 8 3/4' deep on the inside and 9 1/8 deep when measuring on the outside(due to a thick piece of wood on the bottom of the box) The Shell Emblem'Logo' is stamped on the crate and you can feel the groves on it and for the 6-One Gal. Cans. One side(the lead photo) is in really good shape. The other side unfortunately has some non-factory stamp marks on it(see pictures) where someone used it as a media to stamp imprinted marks on it. Perfect Gift for the Dairy Collector! Thanks for looking! Up for sale is a very rare. Hard to find Milk Crate from the Oakhurst Dairy Co of Bath Maine. This is a great piece to add to a vintage dairy or milk advertising collection or re-purposed for use as a vintage style wine rack. The crate weighs 12 lbs 4 oz. and measures 15 1/4" wide x 12" deep x" 11 5/8" tall. The size of the metal grid openings where the bottles sit into measures 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" T he wording"Oakhurst Dairy Co Bath Maine Registered" is i n relief in the wood on both of the longest sides of the crate. A lso on the same 2 sides in the galvanized metal frame. Is the raised wording" 6 OAKHURST 52" Overall the condition is really good for a milk crate of this age. It is complete with no missing parts. The only thing we could ... moresee was that the wood has split with the grain of the wood at the handles on the 2 sides(see pictures 4,5 and 10) and some rust showing on some of the metal parts. The Oakhurst Dairy of Portland Maine operated the Bath Maine Branch Location from 1929 to 1974.
