HANDMADE HAMMERED COPPER Antique Arabic Tea Pitcher Spout Container Middle East GENUINE COPPER HANDMADE ARABIC CARRYING CONTAINER 12.5 inches tall 12.5 inches wide(from tip of spout to outer curve of handle) 5.5 inch diameter bottom bulges to 6.5 inches at the lower body Opening at top is about 5 inches Spout tip is 5.5 inches from pitcher body Heavy top piece is 4 inches tall. Including 2-inch spire detail Handmade by hammer method. I found no markings to indicate copper type or artist's name. Strong copper hinge opens fully(see pictures) Inside lined with tin. Likely so that it could hold water or tea. This piece weighs about 5 pounds(Lb) Cleaned and Shined Excellent Condition Commensurate With Age Traditional hammer marks can be seen and felt as you run your fingers across the surface. It is difficult to know the exact age of this ... morebeautiful piece from the Middle East. This Arabic pitcher container(and other items in my auctions) were already antiques back when they were purchased in the early 1960's from local craftsmen and artisans in either Lebanon or Syria. It is possible that they date as far back as the 19th century. Though I don't know for sure. Here is what I do know: They were purchased by the traveling secretary of an American diplomat who was stationed in Beirut Lebanon for a few years. The secretary was married to a man whose father and uncle previously owned the Glasgow railroads in Scotland before dying and passing on their inheritance. Since their purchase in the early 1960's. They have been well cared for in the same upper class home for the past 50 years. I acquired these through an estate sale, cleaned them, polished them, and now I offer them to you here. Vintage Original KING GEORGE VI TEA TIN - Circa 1937-39 - Canadian connection
Offered for sale is this handsome and unusual tea tin from the early years of King George VI's reign. The tin stands 4-1/8 inches high x 3-1/4 inches wide x 2-3/4 inches deep. The front of the tin features a portrait of King George with the caption"George IV- King Emperor. On the lid is Windsor Castle; on one side is Westminster Abbey. And on the other is Edinburgh Castle. On the back of the tin is a most interesting"wreath" of the arms of the various member nations or areas of the Empire, including Australia, East Africa, Newfoundland, Ceylon, Malaya, Burmah(sic) West Indies, India, South Africa, and West Africa. Featured in the center are the arms of Canada, which opens the possibility that this tin was issued to commemorate the visit to North America by the King and Queen in May-June of 1939. It is unlikely that the ... moretin was issued later than September of 1939, because once Britain was at war, the King invariably was depicted in uniform. There is wear to the bottom and interior of the tin, but the exterior is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear; as seen in the photos, the colors are bright and the images are crisp and sharp. Vintage Nasco Del Coronado Fuscia Roses Snack Tea China Plate Cup– 4 piece set Very nice set. Most of the stickers have worn off. The saucers and tea cups have fuscia roses on them. They are in nice vintage condition and do not appear to have any chips or cracks. Some of the gold is worn and there are some signs of wear. As to be expected from vintage items. They are Nasco. Del Coronado, made in Japan. Plates are clam shell shape and approximately 8” in diameter. The teacups measure 2” tall and 3 3/8” in diameter. Item may show signs of wear associated with normal use.
