Vintage china 16-piece child's tea set. Set includes teapot. Creamer, four saucers, six plates, and four cups. The plates measure approximately 4 and 1/4 inches in diameter. The saucers measure approximately 3 and 7/8 inches in diameter. Not counting the handles. The cups measure approximately 1 and 13/16 inches in diameter. They also measure 1 and 13/16 inches in height. The teapot measures approximately 2 and 1/16 inches in height. The creamer measures approximately 2 and 1/4 inches in height. Hairline crack appears on creamer. But the piece is stable(see first photo) There is also some discoloration to one side near the bottom of the creamer. Slight discoloration also noted to the bottom of one cup and a discolored spot is noted to the bottom of another cup. Five of the plates have pink and red roses. The design is stunning with blue boarders and a floral design high lighted by an emerald green ribbon and gold trim. To add to the detail and beauty, the green ribbon has a raised white paint bordering and dotting down the center of it. All the pieces, except the cups, are marked with the Takito trademark, two"T"s in diamonds surrounded by"Hand Painted, Made in Japan" in green, which was used from roughly 1922 until 1944. The porcelain is very delicate and light weight. Included in the set are: One(1) Tea or Coffee Pot with lid measuring 4 1/2" high to the top of the cover. 7 3/4" across the handle and spout and weighs 15 oz. One(1) Creamer measuring 3" high. 5" across the handle and spout and weighs 5.7 oz. One(1) ... moreSugar with lid measuring 3 1/2" high to the top of the cover. 6" across the handles and weighs 8.9 oz. Five(5) Cups measuring 4" in diameter and 2" high and weighing 2.6 oz each. Five(5) Saucers measuring 5 1/2" in diameter and weighing 3.8 oz each. One has a defect near the rim where the glazing seems"pushed" downwards. Likely from something touching the piece while it was drying, it blends in nicely, but is easy to spot. The combined weight of the set is 3 lbs 13.6 oz. All the pieces are chip. Crack and fleabite free. There are no marks from use or storage. The trim and artwork is in amazing condition. The gold trim is in amazing condition and complete even around the rims of the cups. There is no crazing that I could find on any piece. As with most porcelain, especially from the period, there are some inconsistencies in the glazing on the pieces, none are notable except on the saucer mentioned above. Wonderful 3 piece Demitasse set each piece bearing the William Guerin underglaze factory(Mark 3) Circa 1900- 1930. The set consists of a lovely demitasse pot measuring 8.75" tall. A sugar standing 4" high, and a creamer 4" tall. The ornate painted handles and finials together with the raised beading encircling each piece adds an element of elegance and richness. The pieces also have a soft ribbed bulbous effect to the bottom below the beading and this element brings a sense of daintiness and whimsy. The demitasse set is in fabulous condition. Coffee pot, creamer, waste bowl and sugar bowl. None of the pieces have monograms or signs of mono-removal on them. The nickel-silver is starting to show through on the pieces.
