It looks like ... morea date on the bottom but we can't quite make it out but we have taken pictures of it. It has lots of flaws and chips around the top and lots of staining and crazing. There is also a hairline crack in the top and we have tried to show it in the pictures. This old crock measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" across the bottom and 4 1/4" across the top. The rim is 1/2" thick around the top and it is very heavy. It weighs 3 1/2 pounds. It is missing the bale but the holes for the bale are still intact. It is also missing the lid. This old Crock is still very pretty even with all the chips. Stains and flaws. It has lots of crazing all over the outside and inside, and would look good with the old primitives collection. Mass. 2" This is a rare and highly sought after maker's mark. I was able to find very little information on this early New England maker after extensive research. The form and decoration ... moredate the piece to c1875. Possibly earlier. Featuring a spectacular stylized freehand floral decoration executed in an super thick deep dark blue cobalt. This decoration is completely free of any frying and so thick you can easily feel it with your fingers. A primitive piece of antique decorated stoneware chock full of crudity and character around 138 years old! Note the two expertly hand formed and proportioned elephant ear handles tucked in neatly at each shoulder. An even coat of dark brown Albany slip lines the interior with some lime staining evident. This wonderful antique crock comes to you in the hard to find and highly collectible two gallon size. A size with the most appeal as it will display just about anywhere! It features a thick flared rim with a small inner seat where a small lid once sat. It has an even coat of salt glaze that's developed a somewhat shiny aged patina over time with that wonderful light pebbly texture highly desired by collectors. Pottery Stoneware Yellow Ware Crock Green with Ears
Here is a nice crock with ear handles in a worn green paint over a mellow yellow base color. It has some very tiny hairline cracks that are very tight and at the rim area as well as one very small chip on the rim. In the photos you can see that there is missing paint and what must have been a decoration at one time. I do not know it's exact age. I know it is not a new piece for sure. I am selling a stoneware jar marked C. Dillon& Co. Albany(New York) How it got to Nebraska is probably an interesting story. It is about 10" high, about 8 1/2" wide at the widest part, and the opening is about 4 3/4" with the lip extending another 1/2" beyond that. In my research I have determined it was made c. 1835-1840(Dillon started his pottery in 1834 and died in 1842) The only other one I can find is at the Albany Institute of History& Art(they have a website and photographs) It has two chips on the rim and some damage along the bottom(see photos) The handles are perfect. The inside shows some wear but no visible damage. I do not see any other chips, cracks or other damage. Hopefully the photographs show enough detail. This beautiful old crock was purchased at the estate sale of a collector. It is about 8 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches diameter at the opening. The unusual design includes a raised floral pattern that is hand painted. The paint is worn off some with age and use. Most of these old crocks were used in the kitchen on a daily basis- possibly as a cookie jar or lard container- so it is common to have chips as this one does around the lid. Very Rare Huge Stoneware Crock Parlor Stove Red Wing Western Fort Dodge Iowa
Pick Up Only! No Shipping! Very large heating stove appears to be made of stoneware. Not sure what company would have made this as it is not marked. Stove stands just over 5 feet tall and comes apart in 3 sections. The 5th picture shows the top of the stove and damage and the last picture shows a crack that was repaired at one point. As you can see its not in perfect condition but it is certainly the only one I have ever seen. I'm really not sure what else there is to say about this. A wonderful 19th C. Pennsylvania 1/2 gallon cobalt decorated stoneware crock or canning jar. C. 1860-80. This is an unusual example, the cobalt floral decoration is very thick& vibrant. The decoration is huge& very well done, it fills the entire front of the piece, the back is marked"1/2" for half gallon, in cobalt. This early decorated stoneware crock is in very nice condition with two shallow chips& a few clay separations that happened in-the-making. Very nice antique brown and white stoneware pickle crock. 6 for the 6 gallon crock is stenciled in cobalt blue in the front. Crock has molded ear handles for easy lifting. There are no cracks in this crock although one of the ears has a very small chip. Perfect crock for decorating to add a little charm to any room or area. Measures 14" High and 12" Across.

This is a very nice Crown#6. 6 gallon stoneware pickle crock. Nice size for decorating indoors or out. Nearly perfect, there is one small hairline surface crack on the inside that is documented in the photos but otherwise is in great condition. The cobalt blue King Crown emblem adds to it's character. Measures 15" H and 13" across. Will definitely hold liquid. Perfect for adding that country charm to any room or space.

Old brown stoneware crock/has cover and nice dark brown. Larger size.
This is a rich brown old croak. It has a cover but some chips on the cover only. On the crock itself there is a circle defect if that is what it should be called on one side. I think it was probably from the making of the crock originally. Just adds to the piece. Its a nice size of 9 1/2" high and 6" across the top opening. Antique Stoneware Alkaline Crock Churn 6 gallon Early 1900's
Up for auction is a fantastic six gallon. Gray alkaline glaze churn made I discovered in the back of an old barn where it had probably been sitting for over 100 years. Although most people would call this a crock, it is actually a churn. When found, it had a top with a hole in the middle, but it was broken in half lying inside it, and has since been thrown away. The churn is 18.5 inches tall and 12 inches in diameter at it's widest point. It weighs 22.4 pounds. It has an alkaline glaze on both the inside an outside. This piece was wheel thrown and the lines from the wheel are visible; there are very prominent lines on the inside. It has an applied loop handle with fingerprint depressions near the base of the handle where it was pressed to the body of the piece. Just to the right of the handle is the number 6, which indicates it's ... morecapacity of six gallons. The bottom has lines from the cut off wire, used to remove the piece from the wheel. I don't know anything about pottery so I called gentleman who is well known for buying and selling Alabama Pottery; with many years of experience he is great at identifying the pottery. After examining my photos he informed me that my churn is Ohio Pottery from the late 1800's to early 1900's. I uploaded lots of photos so that you can examine every detail for yourself to verify the item's description. Quality and authenticity. This crock is in excellent condition. There are very few chips and cracks in the pottery; no major ones anywhere. The largest are on the bottom so you can't see them when the crock is upright. It is watertight. The glaze is crazed but that is to be expected with old glaze and gives it a charming crackle glaze look; it is still beautiful and shiny. The churn is watertight. Around the bottom is where too much glaze was applied and dripped dry. Overall the crock is just beautiful and a fine example of the stoneware crocks and churns of the era. Antique Vintage Large 14" Tall Two tone Stoneware Preserve Crock
Up for auction is an Antique Vintage Large 14" tall Two tone Stoneware Preserve Crock. This is a lovely tall two tone crock in dark brown and tan color. What a great crock for use or for a primitive country display! Measurements: 14" tall. 5 1/2" in diameter across top. 4 1/4" opening. Base is 9 1/4" in diameter. Condition: Very nice. Holds liquid. There are some chips around the base rim. There is a manufacturing piece of something in the glaze and a manufacturing indent in the crock at the top in the darker area. Picture 6. There is a ding on one side(again dark brown area) but it looks like it could have been done in manufacturing also, picture 2& 3. In the lighter tan area there are uneven pottery areas. picture 10. Picture 11& 12 shows a flake on the rim. Uneven glaze color. Maker unknown. The base shows ... morelines like a fingerprint, shown in pictures 8& 9. We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Flower Decorated 1 1/2 Gallon Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with no chips. Cracks, and or repairs. There is slight manufactured roughness and there is some staining. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition of this crock. The crock measures 11 1/4" tall x 6 3/4" at the mouth x 7 1/4" at the base and weighs approximately 8lb 5oz. The crock features a wonderful center cobalt blue design of 2 blooming flowers with leaves and slight stems pointing upward, on each side numbering 2. Antique Stoneware 1 Gallon Preserving Crock with Lid, 2-Piece Mold Construction
Up for your consideration is this wonderful antique glazed stoneware one gallon preserving crock with lid. It is very old with an unusual 2-piece molded construction similar to antique bottles of the 19th century. The base measures 7 inches in diameter. And the height is 9 inches. The lid has no cracks, but there are some edge chips. The lid is probably not original to the crock, but it fits nicely. The crock has no cracks, but there are some old oxidized bottom edge chips and there is overall crazing. Please know that this item is on display at a store and is subject to avaiability. Kaukauna Klub Vintage Retro Stoneware Crock Cheese Butter - PAIR
These 2 crocks are from the Kaukauna Dairy Company of Kaukauna. Wisconsin with a 1933 copyright date in blue paint. They are both 6" tall and 4" in diameter, and are in Very Good condition. No cracks, chips or paint loss. The wire closures work properly and have No Rust, and the rubber seals are intact. As you can see in photos, the insides are very Clean as well.
