Taft, ... morexxxx-xx- N.Y. but not sure. It has an elaborate cobalt blue decoration with vines, flower and leaves, tendrils etc. This jug is about 19" tall and approx. 10-3/4" across the diameter at the base and about 34-35 inches in circumference at the widest part of the jug. The top and side(of the spout) have very old chips. There is an"in-the-making" defect in the front that you can view with the e-bay magnifier. I do not see any hairlines or cracks, just the very old chips on top and side of spout. I have had this for decades. Packing and shipping by UPS, see handling fee for packing. See my items for sale. Antique 19th C Stoneware Cobalt Decorated Ovoid 4 Gallon Crock 14" Excellent
We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Design 4 Gallon Ovoid Handled Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with no chips. Cracks, and or repairs. There is 1 very small rough spot on the top rim, 2 small brown glaze misses on the inside, and minor staining and manufactured roughness. I closed my antique shop and ended up with quite a bit of inventory that I will be listing along with much of my personal collection including some very nice Fostoria American. With a gray salt glaze on the outside, and a dark brown salt glaze on the inside and marking is in blue. The crock is marked with the number 4 and ES&B below the number. This Crock is in very good condition with no damage found. It measures about 12" across x 12" tall. The glaze is worn mainly around the handle areas and in the back. ... moreThe inside glaze is good. I do not find any damage such as chips, cracks, or break s. I was able to find this is the marking for Elverson. Sherwood, Barker who partnered in stoneware from 1879 to 1890. I have seen this crock with the same marking along with the marking New Brighton stenciled below. However, there is no indication this piece ever had New Brighton PA. stenciled on it. I know this piece is very old as it belonged to my late W ife's Grandmother. This Crock is being offered at a low starting price. And no reserve. Fabulous Vintage Folk Art Pottery Memory Stoneware Crock Lots of Antique Pieces I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently- a real catfish moment. Because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! Some items you JUST don't have enough photo space for- as is the case with this one. I can only post 24 photos. And I could have taken twice as many- just to show you how fabulous this piece is. It's a vintage stoneware piece marked on the bottom as being made by Ransburg pottery- identifying it as a 20th century piece. Ransburg started making stoneware cookie jars and canisters during the depression, and into the 40sl, so the jar is vintage, not ... moreantique. The folk art work is vintage- not new, though, and the jar is PACKED with many items dating from the Depression era and before- with lots of antique pottery pieces used, and some later pieces(like retro jewelry and buttons) too. That's not all you see, though- there's doll heads, buttons, jewelry, seashells, coins, marbles- you'll lookandlookandlook at this one for a loooong time! It measures 9" tall, 8 1/2" at its widest, and weighs an amazing 8 1/2 lbs! Interestingly enough, all of the Ransburg pieces that I have seen have always had a bright glaze- peeking at the pottery, I see no indication of this jar ever being glazed(at least not with a color that I can see) It would have had a lid originally, and this one does not- it's open mouthed. Supersize and looklooklook at all of the fun of this one! The jar is in excellent condition- with no damage that I can find. There's a handful of teenie nibbles and valleys on the underside bottom at the rim(see photo 23) but you only see them on the bottom when turned over- and they very well could be original to the piece. Up for sale is an Antique whiskey? apple cider Jug/ Crock Jug. It measures 9" tall by 7 1/2" wide by itself. Its 12 1/2" tall with the handle up. This is a great looking jug but it does have a few issues. there is the chip on the lip of the spout, it only shows on the one side you can spin it around for display and it does not show. Also there is a chip on the bottoms edge. the handle has weather wear to it like sun rot, and the wire is rusted but the handle is still working fine. this is a great jug and it has a great look. it needs a big cork for the top and its ready for display. please email with any questions, I have 4 more of these type jugs listed now in my store, thank you.

These are dark brown and has some markings in the glaze near the base sides. The matching jar has some small chips along the rim of. The crock doesn't has any cracks or chips. A rare. Tapered Crock or Cream Pot from Upstate New York, ca.1870. This 4Qt. tapered form is quite scarce; it features White's signature"Pine Tree" decoration in bold, slip-trailed Cobalt. The overall condition is excellent. There is a small chip on the right handle, a ding on the base, and tight hairline near the rim in back. The interior Albany Slip is perfect; the exterior Salt Glaze shiny and consistent. Please see photos for complete details and further description. Beautiful gray-ish stoneware pottery crock with cobalt blue design and"Onnen Farm Ext. 1923" on the front. I think the decorative design is either a fern leaf or a feather. You can decide. Crock is 6 1/2 inches high and 6" diameter, the sides are straight. No lid. The brown flecks in the gray clay really give it a quaint look, inside and out. There is a maker's mark on the left side, tried to capture it on photo but it will be hard to see, as near as I can tell it is raised letter S on its side with a line through the middle. There is a signature etched on the bottom but I can't make it out, but the date is 91. No chips. Stains, cracks, etc. Perfect for your primitive or country collection. This is a Weir Canning Crock with a Patent March 1st 1892 as identified on the lid. It still has the original working wire closure but it is rusty. There are no noted chips or cracks. The inside is clean. With the vintage age there is some crazing on the cream colored area of the crock. I personally took this piece out of my grand mothers old farm house kitchen basement crawl space. It was sitting beside several old crocks and several large bolders(rocks) which were supporting the old house so I know they have been there for years. The house has been in the family for 100 years.
