Great old covered butter crock with bail handle. This crock measures 7 3/4" in diameter and 5 3/4" in height to the top of the lid. It is made of a yellow clay with a blue/gray salt glaze textured body and raised blue floral design. The number 3 is embossed in the rim of the base just above the floral design(see photo#2) It is in fine condition having no chips or cracks in base or lid. Offered is an exceptional antique crock with stenciled R. T. Williams. New Geneva, PA on the front with additional hand brushed stripes. It also has a brushed 4 indicating the 4 gallon size. It measures 15" tall& 11" at its widest point. The condition is very good. There is a hairline on the bottom rim which is about 4" long and runs up the side about 6"please see pictures 7& 8. There was a hairline which started at the top front of the crock went about 1/3 down and then across for about 6" above the stenciled decoration) which has been professionally restored and only noticeable upon close inspection. This is an antique primitive stoneware crock that stands 9" tall. The lid measures 4 3/4" across. The crock is in wonderful shape for its age- no nicks. Chips or cracks. Does have typical darkened areas from age. The lid has 5 rim chips that are more prominent on the underside but definitely can be seen from the top(seen in 3rd photo) Many years ago this crock was painted by someone and red paint residue is present on the top of the lid handle and the rim of the crock itself. Old Stoneware Beater Jar Schlegel Bakery West Bend WI Crock Red Wing McCoy WOW
This is a pretty nice original and very hard to find stoneware beater jar advertising Schlegel's Bakery in West Bend. Wisconsin. I believe it was made by Red Wing but you stoneware experts will know for sure. It stands about 4 3/4 inches tall and is about 4 3/4 inches in diameter at it's widest. It is in good condition for it's age with some hairline cracks running down from the top about 1-1 1/4 inches. They are very solid and only two of them show on the outside. It still displays very nicely and has great original character! It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and I doubt it will be this nice. This is a wonderful primitive whiskey jug. It is non glazed and non fired. From the southeastern Appalacian region of Virginia. Purchased from the estate of a life long farmer in the area. Actual height is shown in the last picture and the one gallon is an estimate, I did not fill the jug to confirm the actual capacity. This vintage bowl measures 7" across and 4" high. The glaze is good and shiny with no stains. And no cracks or hairlines. There is one small chip on the rim which hardly shows because of being the same color as the bowl(photo 6) On the inside of the bowl, there's a factory flaw in the form of an air bubble which has one piece broken out(close-up photo 5) It still displays beautifully! Great ebayer let me know that this is used for taking care of house teats or tits. Don't know if it is so. But the item is unique. Unsigned. Just the crock part is 11 1/2" height x 5 5/8" wide. The spigots are 2 3/4" height x 2 1/8" wide. Measurements are approximate. Good used condition for being so old. Some of the stoneware inside has flaked off. There is a curved line(almost like a circle) on the outside that extends into the inside of the pot. The spigots have green oxidation. One handle will turn. The other does not. I did not check to see if liquid will flow thru the spigots. The pot did hold water when filled to the top. Shipping is free in the USA. My German Grandma's Antique Sauerkraut Pickling Crock White Hall Stoneware w/lid
This was my german grandma's sauerkraut making crock. My brother later used it to make pickles. Mom said that when she was a little girl. Grandma would bury this in the backyard to ferment the kraut. And mom said she would sneak out and eat some directly from the crock in the ground. Others have identified this crock as probably a White Hall Stoneware Pickle Crock made by WHSP&S Co. Of White Hall Illinois from 1900-1940. Grandma repurposed the crock for making her Sauerkraut. One of the lugs that held the original handle is broken. So the crock is now held in a net of copper wire. It is soldered in some spots. The lid probably came from something else. The crock measures 14-1/4" tall by 12 maximum width. The blue decorative stoneware lid fits perfectly and measures 9-1/4" in maximum diameter. Overall the crock is in good ... morecondition. There is the one broken lug. This is a very nice old hand turned. Salt glazed, wax seal stoneware crock jar or canning jar. The crock is 6-1/2" tall and is about a one quart size. It is a real pretty light brown color. There is one very small chip on the lip. Please email with questions. Thank you for looking. Posted with
