Antique white metal/spelter bison figurine
The bison figurine is a white metal casting with a bronze patina that was then plated. Much of the plating is deteriorating. As will be seen in the photos. The mark on it is Japan; it is almost certainly older than the 1940s. It’s flawless other than the damaged plating, and a nice looking piece with smooth casting and good detail. Other than the plating, there is no damage whatsoever. It is about 4 inches long, 2 inches tall. The bidder who wins the bison will also find a cast iron scottie dog. His right ear is chipped and his tail was lost in some unfortunate mishap. Maybe he chased the wrong bison. I have no idea. Again, thirties or earlier. The gilding is deteriorated, but it’s still a nice collectible. Approximately 2 inches by 2 inches.

Vintage German Figure Spelter Metal Working Mantel Clock
My goal is to rescue worthwhile. Vintage and unique items and place them in good homes at a reasonable cost to be enjoyed. This is a vintage German figure spelter metal working mantel clock. It measures 14 inches tall and 9 inches across the bottom base. I purchased this in Germany in the late 1980’s. It was a mechanical clock but I got tired of winding it every 8 hours so I had it converted to a battery operated clock. Probably my bad. But it does save you from constantly winding the clock. It features two figures(a man and a women) on the base of the clock and ornate cut-out designs in gold color. It has a second hand and the clock works perfectly. It requires a AA battery(included) It is free of flaws and in excellent condition. Please see the pictures for the design details and the quality of this clock.

1890's Cherub Figural Bronzed Spelter Gas Lamp
This cherub figural gas lamp dates back to the late part of the 19th century. It is made out of spelter and the cherub angel is bronzed. some of the bronzed chipped) This gas lamp is all original patina. No modifications ever done and it has a completely in tack gas line. The keyed shut off valve still turns on and off without much effort. The only part that it needs is a gas shade and a lamp shade bracket. Also at the top of the torch where the flame comes out there is a little part of metal that is tipped in(see pic 4)it should not interfere with the flame and will not be visible once a glass shade is on. Antique Spelter Horse Statue Clock Topper for Mantle Shelf Clock
I am selling a 40 year collection of antiques. All items are guaranteed antique and as described. Please check my other auctions for more fine antiques. Up for auction is this beautifully modeled white metal clock topper horse which dates to the 1890s. The horse measures 8 inches tall by 8 inches long by 3 inches deep and is very detailed. These cast metal statues were intended to be used on top of the black mantle clocks that were sold at the turn of the century. Many of these statues were sold with the clocks and others could be purchased seperately. I believe the horse staue to be one of the best of these staues as the modeling is very delicate and is quite dramatic when placed on top of the clock! The horse is in nice condition with only a bent tip to one of his ears. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to the rest of the statue. LARGE ART NOUVEAU WMF SYTLE SPELTER - PEWTER WINE CLARET / DECANTER w/ 2 MAIDENS
This CLARET is typical of the WMF decanter– claret style but it is not marked and thus I can only say that it is old and obviously art nouveau. It is still a beautiful example of art nouveau. And is original from the period. If you are looking for a pristine example in the WMF style and don’t want to pay thousands of dollars plus for a claret, this is one to consider. Condition is as follows: Excellent to mint condition. The metal is either silver colored spelter(not sterling) or pewter. The faces are well defined. Overall it the has no chips. Etc. There is one scratch as shown in photograph 8. But is not a break– just a deep scratch. If I had to mention one flaw it would be that perhaps it had a lid, but over time and since we have had this item I have never seen another and so I don’t know. The claret measures approximately 15 ½ inches ... moretall and approximately 8 inches at the base. So it is rather large. Due to the weight and size(it is heavy) this item will cost $18.90 to assure safe delivery via UPS or FEDX ground and that amount will include insurance and delivery confirmation. PAINTED CAST METAL BULLDOG ANTIQUE DOG LARGE SPELTER FIGURINE PUTZ HEYDE?
Antique metal Bulldog figurine hollow-cast in a spelter metal with its original dark brown paint. This tough old Bulldog was probably made in the early 1900's-20's. Perhaps by Putz or Heyde, but there are no markings to tell for sure. This Bulldog is expertly crafted with lots of precise detail in its coat and character- just look at that face. The bulldog stands 3.25" tall by 5.5" long and 2" wide. This old Bulldog has seen many years and he has a a few scars to prove it- there's a small slit in the metal under his chin. A small puncture mark on his back, and spots of finish loss where the bare metal is showing through. He's a tough old survivor, still as mean as he can be. Bring him home with your winning bid.

Antique Art Nouveau Spelter Jennings Brothers Washington D.C. The Capitol Souvenir/ Trinket/ Jewelry Box On the lid is a stamped picture of our Capitol and reads Washington D.C. The Capital On the bottom are the initials JB(Jennings Bros) and the number 1298 On the raised area where the capitol is pictured. Toward the left is a diamond shape with something stamped inside it. I thought at first it was initials but using a loupe it is a swirled mark of some type. I have seen other pieces on the internet with this same capital design from Jennings Bros but have never seen one with this diamond. In the second pic you can see the diamond but I can get a good pic of the symbol. If anyone can tell me what it is I would love to know as it has me stumped. Box footed and hinged and has a raised flower pattern on top and all around and diamond design ... morebottom. Looks like it was gilded and some of the shine remains but mainly just the spelter is left. Inside lining is there but in very poor condition. There is what looks like a matching polishing cloth. Not sure if it came with the box. Research shows it to be from the early 1920's but I am not positive. Measures approximately 3" wide x 2" deep x 3.25" high The design and picture are very bold and sharp showing very little wear. This was stored carefully for many, many years. Very RARE 1885 Antique Ansonia Spelter FISHERMAN Swinger Clock STATUE
VERY RARE! Antique Ansonia"Fisherman" Swinger STATUE Material: Spelter Age: 1885 Reference: Ansonia Clocks and Watches. Ly, Page 703, No. 2999 Overall Size: 19 3/4" High approx. Description: STATUE ONLY- We do not have the clock that goes with this) This is a very rare and early Ansonia Fisherman statue for a swinger clock. Generally this statue is seen with the earlier"Tin Can" type clock. But will accommodate the ball type also. The casting is an extremely high quality, with a great amount of detail you will not find with most other statue makers of the era. Ansonia's chief designer for the time was Henry Davies, and as you can see, he was a master craftsman. What you see in the photo is all that I have, I DO NOT have the clock mechanism that goes with it. There are only a couple of very minor issues. Nothing ... moredistracting; First, the feather piece on the top of the hat is broken off at the halfway point and I do not have the missing piece. Also, the base is wood and is an older exact replacement of the metal base that should be in place. You can find an Ansonia'parts' statue with a good base that will work on this statue, but until you do this one will work fine. As you can see the finish is a Japanese bronze color which I believe is not the original finish. Whoever did the refinishing work gets a thumbs up from me because I know of very few people that can correctly match original bronzing properly. Almost all of the statues you see these days have been poorly replaced with an awful, improper gold color, but that is not the case here. I am pretty particular and I am very impressed with the finish and I would leave it just as is. Other than the feather mentioned above. There are no cracks, bends, breaks, separations. The Edison bulb is not included. The figure has a nice patina, however, as I don't know if the lamp is UL approved, for safety reasons, strongly recommend the wiring be replaced by an electrician. There doesn't seem to be a signature or makers mark that I can locate. Due to the large size and weight, I'm afraid international shipment is not available for this item. For auction is a charming spelter figurine dating from around the turn of the 20th century. As can be see. The piece is titled Le Colporteur, which leads me to believe that it originates in France. Le Colperteur or paperboy is holding a newspaper marked'PRESSE' adding to this assumption. The figurine stands on an ebonized circular base. Spelter Metal Sculpture Statue Figurine Collection Francaise Fishing Boy
This is an interesting metal sculpture in spelter or metal. He is sitting on a large decorative stump and is holding what looks like a fishing rod which isn't being used at that moment. He has a fishing basket on his back and is barefooted. He has like an ecru or beige finish accented on clothing and hair. Stump and base with a mild gold touch of paint. Underneath the bottom of the base up under the stump is a half inch hole that could be anchored to a base of a lamp if someone wanted that. He is nice and interesting just like he is now. He has the Collection Francais oval mark with a fleur de lis and the name inside it. It says on Google that he is made in the US. I am not sure. He is 10" tall. Base is about 5" across. I am selling a very nice antique spelter cherub mounted on an onyx or marble cube with a cast iron base. It is in excellent condition. The patina was redone several years ago. I believe it is a late 19th century piece coming from a church. There are no signatures. Dimensions are 17 inches high and the base is 7.5 square inches. Item is heavy. 13.6 pounds! Art Nouveau Le Printemps Lady Spelter Bust Early 20th Century

She is made of spelter or white metal and measures about 12” high and 6 1/2” across her shoulders. There are some very nice details in this sculpture that you can see in the flowing strands of hair. The flowers that decorate her hair and torso, the draping of the clothing, and the soft curves of her neck and shoulders. The bottom reads: Le Printemps. There is wear to the paint. It is in otherwise good condition.

Vtg NUART Creations NY Nude Golden Lady Spelter Metal Art Deco Rare Naked Woman
Here's a really neat old figurine or statue made by Nuart Creations. No idea of the age but it appears to be really old. It's made of the metal alloy called Spelter which is zinc& some other material like lead or tin. This metal is of the brittle sort from what research I have done. The piece has some cracks in it but it looks like they were there when it was removed from the mold, they were at least there when it was painted because you can tell that the paint is in the cracks& it didn't crack after it was painted. There are some cracks on the feet& the base by the feet. One crack between the knees, this is the only one that light can be seen through it(see picture#12) And there's a crack just under the rib area on the right side, see picture#9. Even with the cracks the figure is solid with no loose areas. It ... morehas a 3 minor paint rubs. One on the right forearm that should be able to be seen in pic#8. There's also one on the left rib area just under the breast& a smaller one on the right lower rib area, see pic#9. There are a couple of areas where the paint is light like it didn't get a good cover when it was sprayed, these are under the arms& on the lower back. This piece is 12 1/4" total length. 4 1/2" wide at the widest point& 6" tall. From the research I did this is an Art Deco item. I found lots of Nuart Creations pieces but could not find one like this. I feel that this one could be fairly rare. It's a very unique item. A great item for the collector of nudes. An art deco Egyptian revival spelter candlestick in the form of a lady, Condition. There are cracks to both ankles as shown and missing big toe to right foot. The figure is stable, The"gold" paint is messy in some areas, I think it may have been overpainted at sometime. The black paint has some scuffs but looks to be original although I have seen these candlesticks with more colour to the clothing. Apart from the faults it does display well. This is an antique pair of French spelter figures. The figures were designed by Adolphe Jean Lavergne(1852-1901) and made in France. The figures are of a male and female farm worker with the woman collecting grape vine and the man bundles of reeds. They measure 30 and 31cm in height and are signed near the base by the sculptor. Finally a proper bronzed spelter Shakespeare Finally a clock topper that has been stripped back to the original bronzing that befits the Ansonia Shakespeare model. Because of the great bronze finish it will stand beautifully in a stunning drawing room as a statue in its own right. A Superb Antique Cold Painted Spelter Standing Figure of a Male Blackamoor-c1880
This superb Antique Cold Painted Spelter Male Blackamoor Figure dates I believe to around 1880 or thereabouts. It is free-standing. And stands approximately 8.25 inches high. The Blackamoor weighs approximately 648 grams. He is in great vintage condition. With super detail and lovely colours. Any signs of wear are commensurate with age and use. And basically consist of what appears to be a missing pole of some type between his hands(there is a purpose built hole to his left hand for it to be inserted into) Expected wear to the paint, some minor holes to the underneath of his robes, and I would assume that the Blackamoor originally had a base, although he stands unaided very well. The Blackamoor will make a wonderful addition to any similar collection.

This old sculpture dates to the 1800's and is in really great condition compared to others I've seen although the very tip of the feather is missing from his hat. Looking at the bottom you will see what the finish looked like originally. A gold color, but time has erased some of it on the exposed areas so he now appears as having a gold wash if you will. This is a silver footed dolphin lamp base/pedestal from the 1950's. It is made of cast spelter(white metal) and has nicely cast dolphin legs. The clock body is white metal or spelter with a bronze finish that sits on a white Cararra marble base which in turn sits on 4 shaped feet. An antique French spelter pot metal clock figure statue in the form of a young man with an amphora form bottle and stopper. This seems referential to a trade. But I'm not sure which one. A chemist/ pharmacist seems most likely, but he may also be meant to represent a perfumer or a doctor. This has some wear and loss to the gold paint finish, several spots of discoloration and greening of the finish as well. The backside has two large areas of missing paint on his cloak. Marked LSF.
