Up for auction is an original antique Russian Samovar dating from the 1800's. Very ornate design and shape. This was used for hot water or tea. Made of brass and has wooden handles. Light remains of silverplate around the edges. The samovar is being sold as I found it and as you see it in the photos. Has s couple dents. Some wear to the wood, will hold water but is dirty on the inner surface, handle moves as it should and holds coal on the inner tube to get the water hot. Can be polished if desired and no cracks to mention. Marked on the top as seen in the photos. Weight is just under 11 pounds unpacked and measures approx. 18" tall by 14" wide. This is a beautifully crafted piece of art.it bares 9 stamps on the base and 6 on the lid of awards.there are two legible dates 1899 and 1900 under the stamps.please note the ding that is on the rear of the unit and also at some time it was fit with an electric element the element is untested. we decided to leave this original with the patina but it should clean up and shine if the new owner decides to display in that fashion

The company was formed in 1857 by William Rogers and George Smith to manufacture silver plate and britannia ware. The company was originally located in Hartford. But moved to New Haven when it was bought by Meriden Britannia Company in 1863. It was again moved to Meriden in 1876. The company mark was changed to reflect the new locations on each move. We believe the coffee pot to have been manufactured during the 1860's as reflected in the makers mark and location(see 9th picture) This is a beautiful and ornate silverplate samovar. There are several Russian hallmarks on the top of the piece an it is dated 1898. I am not sure what they mean or what it says. Please check the pictures. The Antique Samovar is tarnished and the brass plating is lightly pitted. It needs a good polishing. Both of the top wood knobs have issues. The one that is still attached is missing a chunk of wood from the handle. The other that is detached is missing a brass spacer. The wood handle on the right is cracked and not attached properly. The other one has a small chunk of wood missing. But it is still intact. The piece measures approx. 19 1/2" tall. It weighs over 13 pounds with out the box and packing materials. Exceptionally attractive silver-plate over copper tea/water urn. It does have a couple of dents and the knob on the lid is a bit out of line. But it is old it and is beautiful enough to overshadow the imperfections. The plate is very bright. It is missing the bone knobs on the spigot but if it doesn't sell I will start looking for replacements. Antique 1883 FB Rogers Silver Coffee Urn Samovar
This beautiful Rogers Coffee urn is Stamped F.B. Rogers Silver Co trademark 1883 on the bottom. It's true. The lid is missing. But. I simply used this as a centerpiece by putting a vase inside it and filling it with flowers. I had pondered turning it into a lamp. Too. Maybe you can find a lid somewhere? The opening for the lid is exactly 4 5/8" It still has the heater/burner pot that is filled with 2 oz. of alcohol to keep the coffee(or tea) inside hot. It has gorgeous scrolly details! It is very heavy. The dispenser spout still works, too, and(I tested it) and it does not leak when filled with boiling water. It is 13" high by 11" wide. I haven't polished it since I found it. Rare Antique Imperial Russian Samovar - VERY NICE!
This is the first time that I've seen one of these so my knowledge is extremely limited. However. In my research it is an antique Russian Samovar. The height is approximately 21 inches with the lid. All the ones that I've seen for sale and that have sold do not have the lid like this one. The condition is very good. It has not been cleaned and has beautiful patina. The handles are intact. Please take a look at the pictures and ask questions. The cost for these have ranged from $300 up to $2.500 and because I'm at a loss about this piece, you may be able to rip this beauty out of my hands for much less than what it is worth. This magnificent, silver plated, Samovar manufactured by the Birmingham Silver Company, measures approximately 14.50 inches tall, 11.25 inches wide from handle to handle, 5.25 inches long x 3.50 inches wide at the top opening and 4.50 inches wide between each foot. This gorgeous piece comfortably holds 10, eight ounce cups which is a generous size for today’s entertaining purposes. We filled up the samovar it does not leak, pours freely and turns off easily. The samovar has a classical urn shape and two. Flowing, curved handles. The composite material spout attaches to the samovar with an applied, large, decorative cartouche.
