vintage Shanghai perfume parfum by Lentheric in rare Art Deco bottle
This bottle of Shanghai perfume by Lentheric is in one of the most iconic shapes used by the company. This bottle. Like many older ones by Lentheric, was designed to have a functional ground-glass stopper and a decorative, non-functional bottle topper that rests loosely on top. Because these decorative toppers did not screw on or snap on, they were sometimes lost or discarded over the years, so it's nice to find a bottle like this one that still has its original topper. The Shanghai bottle topper is a dark orange plastic. The label on one side of the bottle reads"Lentheric" and it is still intact. The label on the other side of the bottle used to read"Shanghai" but it is now torn. So only the"Shang" part remains. The bottle. When measured with its topper, is 2 inches tall and 2.5 inches across and 0.75 inches ... morefront to back. I can smell the perfume when I sniff the neck of the bottle closely. However. The ground-glass stopper is stuck firmly shut. The good news is that I'm fairly certain that the perfume in the bottle is original and authentic because I own vintage Lentheric Shanghai in cologne form, and the smell of that matches this closely. The cologne is much lighter and weaker, though, as well as paler in color, compared to the richer, darker perfume in this bottle. When full. This bottle held 1/2 oz. according to the label on the bottom of the bottle. Shanghai is highly collectible among vintage Lentheric fragrance wearers. I am offering up for auction a VTG OLD apothecary jar wheaton bottle glass stopper perfume medicine CHEMISTRY. This came from a estate sale here in Pa. This measures approximately 3 inches across 8 inches tall with the stopper in. This has Wheaton No-SOL=VIT 1 U.S.A. on the bottom. It has a circle on the front in the circle is a small chip or a flaw with 2 lines coming from it there is another stray line by this mark. I think it is a flaw in the glass. But I am not 100% sure. There is the same kind of mark under to the right(when looking at bottle) the chip with line look it is flat in the bottle this one is a flaw. There is some waviness and tiny stray bubbles also in the glass. The glass is clear to look at it but held in a window has ... morea very slight blueish hue. I will call in clear because it is so light. Stopper is clear with the frosted etched bottom. This has a glass stopper with a flat circle top the bottom of the stopper and the inside neck of the bottle are etched. This will need some cleaning has some dirtiness inside the bottle. My bottle brush broke sorry could not clean inside. It is used with use marks. I was not quite sure what this was used for. All items sold as~is no refunds.
