Very Rare ~ BEEMASTER ~ Small Staffordshire Pearlware TUREEN & TRAY c1820 NoResv
A Very Rare Small Staffordshire Pearlware Tureen. Cover and Under Tray c1820 ~ The Beemaster Pattern ~ Medium/ Dark Blue Transferware by Unknown Potter ~ 5 1/2" high to top of finial ~ tureen is about 8" handle to handle ~ under tray is 8 1/2" long x 5 1/4" This transfer is sometimes attributed to William Adams but no marked pieces are recorded so it remains an'unknown potter. The scene is taken from an 18th century watercolor'A Swarm of Bees. Autumn' by George Robertson and adapted to an entire dinner service and other objects, even a garden seat. This pattern is featured on the cover of Dick Henrywood's transferware pattern book and talked about in Judie Siddall's'Dishy News' blog(google dishynews and beemaster) The scene shows a young man carrying a beehive or bee skep followed by two men ... morewith a child and two dogs. Followed by a well dressed couple, perhaps newlyweds. The border consists of small medallions containing deer, horses and cattle, these are separated by large flowers. This is in beautiful display condition. It has several antique pottery issues but none of them really detract from its presence on a table or sideboard. The finial has been off and reglued very well; it is impossible to detect this but you can see the break under black light. There is a very very very fine hairline coming from the finial to almost the edge of the lid but it is strictly a surface or glaze crack and only really felt more than seen. See the pics from above as the lid doesn't really sit well on the tureen. It is totally correct and most probably the original but perhaps fired too long and fits somewhat wobbly(it fits one way better than the other) but not a big deal on display. There are very small points of wear on the scroll ends of each handle; these are only on the side you can see this in the pic above. There is one very tiny surface chip on one side of the rim; little more than 1/16" long. The tray has some light crazing seen on the back and a blob of blue ink
Black Transfer Pearlware Softpaste Bowls (2) - perfect, 1820-1840
Up for auction is a pair of Black Transfer Bowls"The Young Cottagers" depicting husband. Wife, child in a bucolic setting with cottage in the distance. Hand painted black trim and ring around transfer. There are no chips, cracks, or damage. On the reverse of one the clear glaze is missing in two spots, in the making. It appears to me to be finger prints of the maker. See photos.

FABULOUS STAFFORDSHIRE SOFT PASTE PEARLWARE TEAPOT, ADAMS ROSE VARIANT, NICE!
THE PHOTOS ARE THE MAIN PART OF THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS LOVELY TEAPOT. SO PLEASE USE THE ZOOM FEATURE AND EXAMINE THEM CAREFULLY. I'M NO EXPERT, I GOT THIS FROM MY FATHER ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO. HE BOUGHT IT IN THE 1970'S IN AN ANTIQUE STORE IN NEW MARKET, MD. FOR ITS AGE. WHICH I THINK IS AROUND 1825, IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION. OTHER THAN THE WONDERFUL DESIGN OF THE BODY, THE CONDITION SHOWS ALMOST NO LOSS OF PAINT. THERE ARE SOME MINOR FLEA BITES AND ROUGH SPOTS. THE FINIAL IS INTACT. AS IS THE HANDLE. THE SPOUT SHOWS A TINY CHIP, AND IN CLOSELY EXAMINING IT, I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE TIP OF THE SPOUT HAS HAD REPAIR. IF SO, IT WAS DONE LONG AGO, AND A VERY GOOD JOB. I CAN MOSTLY FEEL A DIFFERENCE IN TEXTURE WHEN I RUN MY FINGER OVER THE TOP SIDES OF THE SPOUT. THERE IS OVERALL CRAZING. ON THE FIRST PHOTO. AND I THINK ON THE 10TH, ... moreYOU CAN SEE SOME DISCOLORATION AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN EXTREMELY SLIGHT"X" HAIRLINE, AND IT ISN'T A CRACK THAT GOES THROUGH TO THE INSIDE. IT'S ON THE LOWER FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE TEAPOT. THERE ARE 2 MAKER'S MARKS ON THE BOTTOM. BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY STAND FOR. THERE IS A VERY CRUDELY IMPRESSED"C" AND NEAR IT, WHAT APPEARS TO BE ANOTHER IMPRESSED BLOCK STYLE"C" I HOPE THAT I HAVE CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED THIS AS BEING AN ADAMS TYPE VARIENT; IT HAS THE S AME TYPE OF DECORATION AS I HAVE SEEN IN MANY ADAMS ROSE PIECES. IT MOST DEFINITELY SHOWS THE PEARLWARE GLAZE. ANY VIEWERS WHO CAN TELL MORE ABOUT THIS PIECE. PERSONS WHO HAVE EXPERTISE, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ITS CONDITION. PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO ASK. MEASUREMENTS: ABOUT 7 1/2" TALL. TO TOP OF FINIAL OVERALL LENGTH. ABOUT 11 1/2" ALMOST 6" WIDE. AT WIDEST POINT. AS ALWAYS. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, SO YOU WILL BE A HAPPY BUYER! PAYMENT IN THE FORM OF PAYPAL IS EXPECTED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION. SHIPPING IS TO THE CONTINENTAL 48 USA STATES ONLY. SHIPPING INCLUDES INSURANCE. AS I HAVE NOT PACKED THIS YET
Fine Staffordshire Pearlware Plate ~ CHINESE GARDEN ~ Blue Transferware c1820 NR
A Staffordshire Pearlware Medium/ Dark Blue Transferware Dinner Plate c1820 ~ Two Chinamen in a Garden with Boat. Bridge, Bamboo and Birds ~ Unknown Pattern& Potter ~ 9 3/4" in diameter This scene was undoubtably taken from Chinese export porcelain but reinterpreted for the English market; the figures admiring the large vase have western features and the scene has western style perspective. The border is as beautiful as the center. With four cartouches containing pairs of exotic birds and two more oriental figures, surrounded by lush flowers and leaves. Please see the closeups of this pattern as I think it is extremely well done artistically. I can't find this pattern in Henrywood or Snyder books. Although there are countless Chinoiserie variations, this one seems very similar to Roger's. This is in excellent condition with ... moreonly the most very minimal surface wear. please note this is a 7 day auction! Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Clews Staffordshire Pearlware ~ WATER GIRL ~ Dark Blue Transferware Cup Saucer
Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Cup and Saucer c1825 ~ WATER GIRL ~ James& Ralph Clews 1818-1834 ~ 6 1/2" in diameter This pattern has a very similar border of flowers. Scrolls and shell similar to Clew's'Wilkie's Designs' Series but some articles have been marked with a cartouche marked'WATER GIRL' although it is sometimes called Rebecca at the Well, or Girl at the Well. Both are printed here in very deep saturated dark blue, the saucer more clearly printed and with an orange peel glaze, the cup with the girl blurry on both sides and a smooth glaze. The saucer has the impressed CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE with crown mark. The saucer is in excellent condition; the cup has several spots of wear along the outer top rim and a few tiny chips to the footrim. Thanks for looking. Adams Staffordshire Pearlware ~ DILSTON TOWER ~ Blue Transferware Plate c1830 NR
A Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Plate c1830 ~ DILSTON TOWER NORTHUMBERLAND ~ Bluebell Border Series ~ William Adams and Sons 1804-1840 ~ 10" in diameter This pattern border of prominent bluebell flowers was used by both Adams and Clews with very many different English views. This dinner size plate has the impressed ADAMS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE mark with an eagle in the center. Along with the printed view name. This series discussed in Coysh Henrywood'Blue and White Printed Pottery' on page 46. The mark illustrated shows the Adams mark with more flowers on the bottom of the cartouche; Clews inverted the cartouche border but this example is the opposite. In excellent display condition; there is faint surface wear to the face center if held in the right light. The back shows some mellowing and fine crazing ... morewith two very shallow hairlines beneath the marks which don't come through to the face. There is some wear or staining to a 4" length of the side rim which I've pictured. Only on that area. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Please see the other English pottery/ porcelain/ Historical Staffordshire/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed
Staffordshire Pearlware ~ FORT MADURA ~ Blue Transferware Cup Plate c1830 NR
A Staffordshire Pearlware Dark/Medium Blue Transferware Cup Plate c1830 ~ India Series/ View in the Fort. Madura ~ Herculaneum Pottery ~ 4 1/4" in diameter Illustrated as No.126 in Arman's'Anglo American Ceramic Cup Plates Part 2' which he calls'INDIA TEMPLE/FORT AT MADURA' but ammends that on the last page of the book as'VIEW OF THE FORT AT MADURA. This pattern in larger versions has the same elephant with riders under canopies but the building changes. And here in the small cup plate size. The border of flowers is cut in half. There are four tiny to very very very tiny flakes along the bottom rim edge. Seen gigantically enlarged in the pics, these could be easily touched in with blue watercolor and the face would look perfect. There are also two pin dots of yellow toning on the face. The back has many tiny pindots ... moreof toning but otherwise this is a nice example. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Large Staffordshire Pearlware Prattware Enamel Colored Satyr Bacchus Jug c1820
A Large Staffordshire or Sunderland Pearlware Prattware Enamel Colored Satyr or Bacchus Jug c1820 ~ Vividly Colored Grinning Face with Manganese Brown Ground ~ 6 1/4" high ~ over 7" from handle to spout A large Satyr jug with unusual coloring; the body is washed with a brown purplish manganese color. This enamel is not heavily applied and more of a wash that shows the drips and puddles and gives it a mottled effect. It's a very attractive effect in person. Giving the body a tree trunk like appearance. The painting seems harsher in my pics than on display. He is very well molded all around with horns and grapes at his head and his goat ears. The orange wash on his face is also mottled and this is much more subtle in person than in my pics. There is nice painted detail on the handle. Looks great on display; there is one very fine ... morehairline coming down from the rim of the spout seen more inside than out; if you look hard in good light you can see it on the outside of his face coming through his forehead to top of his nose; I never noticed it on display. What looks like a crack on the thumbrest of the handle is actually a light split between two halves of the handle; I've never seen a handle made up of two halves like this. But the seam runs all the way down the center. There is wear and rubbing to almost all the enamel colors and crazing noticeable mostly on the bottom. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Please see the other English pottery/ porcelain/ Historical Staffordshire/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed Shown below with similar jugs for scale only. This auction for the center brown jug only.

This pattern keeps the same lacey border but the central scenes change in the various size articles. All of them show a couple in an Italianate landscape and a large urn with exotic birds of some sort. In excellent condition. Some rough spots of pottery on the back but no damage. Thanks for looking. Superb Staffordshire Pearlware ~ THE SICK DONKEY ~ Child's Plate Pratt Colors
A Fine Staffordshire Prattware Pearlware Brown Transferware Child's Plate c1830 ~ THE SICK DONKEY ~ 5 5/8" in diameter A very fine Staffordshire child's plate with a beaded wavy border embossed with clusters of berries and flowers. Enameled in bright blue, yellow, red and green. The center has an endearing transfer of two children and a man nursing a sick donke, there is a house in the distance. I couldn't find this exact transfer or border in Noel Riley's'Gifts for Good Children' although there are plenty of scenes with children and pet donkeys or ponys. The brown transfer on this is very well done. In excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear. Thanks for looking! Vintage Pearlware Fair Hebe Jug Couple Tree Pitcher Beautiful
eBay failed me on this piece as I had to go to Facebook to find out that this is a Fair Hebe Jug. Based on the works of Jean Voyez. This piece is simply amazing. There are no markings on the bottom or anywhere else that I can find. I purchased this piece at an estate sale in Montgomery County. Tennessee. So many nice pieces there! The children were selling part of the estate to make room for more as they stated that after their Father passed away, the Mother's addiction to auctions had become worse and she was having a hard time making room in her house to walk! But the Mother definitely has a good eye for unusual antiques! I searched the web attempting to identify the maker of this jug. I have found several from Staffordshire and they all date back the 1700's and 1800's. I went to the Facebook page of"Dusty Old Thing" ... moreand was told by a very kind lady that this piece was in fact a Fair Hebe Jug but in her opinion. It appeared from my picture to be a reproduction. There is crazing present so if it is a reproduction, it is an older one. Please. I urge you to Bing or Google"Fair Hebe Jug" and see the history for yourself. And if you find this exact piece, I surely hope you will send me a link. I've given up on the search and am offering it to you. I've told you everything I know about this piece from the opinion I received to where it was purchased. I make no claims otherwise. Standing 10" tall. There are no chips cracks or repairs. I am very confident this will make a fine addition to your collection and a wonderful conversation piece as I have never seen one like it in all my 30+ years of digging for. Lg Rare Staffordshire Pearlware Silver Lustre ~TREE BRANCH & VINE ~ Pitcher 1840
Untitled Document A Large Fine Staffordshire Pearlware Buff Slip Silver Lustre Milk Jug c1840 ~ Naturalistically Molded Branch Form and Embossed Leaf Branches ~ 6 3/4" high and 8 1/2" from handle to spout This type of jug is illustrated in Michael Gibson's book'19th Century Lustreware' on page 58 in a smaller 4" high size. He dates it to 1840 Staffordshire. This one is almost twice as large. He shows it with two other milk jugs which use copper or pink lustre and the buff slip ground as a predominant feature. This example is very deeply molded all the way around as a tree trunk with articulated knot holes and the handle as a branch. The raised vine and leaves with grape like flowers are subtly enameled in pale green. Purple, brown and a mossy olive green. The interior of the jug is white slip. The top and bottom ... morerims are painted with silver lustre. This is a fantastic jug that is rarely seen and most unusual, it also makes a great vase for many different varieties of flowers or branches. In beautiful display condition. The silver lustre rim is 90% intact; there is a tiny chip and hairline on the rim at the spout that is not very noticeable. There is also a small chip The interior has some spots of mild staining. Staffordshire Pearlware ~ TAYMOUTH CASTLE ~ Dark Blue Transferware Plate 1830 NR
Untitled Document A Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Dinner Plate c1825-30 ~ Grapevine Border Series ~ TAYMOUTH CASTLE PERTHSHIRE ~ Enoch Wood& Sons Burslem ~ 10 1/4" in diameter An Enoch Wood grapevine border dinner plate printed in a dark medium blue with a scene of a river or waterway. Three people in a row boat, a boy fishing in the foreground, a family on the opposite shore, in the distance is Taymouth castle. It has the printed series mark with the scene title in the band. Notice the difference in printing on the two larger Grapevine plates I'm listing; this one being a slightly darker blue and a crisper. Heavier printing. This series which has the largest number of English scenes(65 counted) to the service was probably in production for a number of years. In excellent condition without any real ... moredamage; there is high point wear to the printing and surface wear that can be seen when titled in the light. On display or on a wall this is not noticeable. There is very fine crazing that is seen mostly on the back and some light toning to the footrim. Overall. This is an excellent example for a display of this series. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware ~ SLEIGH RIDE ~ Bowl c1830 AF NR
Untitled Document Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Large Bowl circa 1830 ~ As Found ~ Napoleon's Sleigh Ride ~ Enoch Wood& Sons ~ 3 1/2" high and 6 1/2" across the top A deep bowl by Enoch Wood and Sons with dark blue transfers of a winter scene with pine trees and deer in the distance. A two horse drawn sleigh led by a man in tall fur hat, this scene is sometimes called'Napoleon's Sleigh Ride. This is unmarked but I have had pieces from this teaset that were impressed'WOOD' to the base. This seems much larger than a waste bowl to me, and smaller than a punch bowl, but this pattern was only used on tea wares, so it must have been the waste or slop bowl. Please see all the pics for the condition; this has been restored although I'm not sure for what; the inside white of the bowl ... moreand the base have a spray or coating which has turned softly yellowish. The exterior doesn't feel sprayed at all although I can see a small hairline(above in front of the driver's face) it doesn't come through and not so noticeable on display. The edge rim has light wear to the glaze. Sold in as found condition but an attractive bowl on the table. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Glorious Green Edge Wreck from an 18th / 19th century Dinner Party --Pearlware
Hopefully the dinner party was more successful than the fate of the piece. This is a lovely piece that would benefit from some serious restoration. It stands 4 inches high and measures 8 inches long. It's 3 1/2 inches wide at its widest. Despite the smash up this piece has been sold ar least twice as witnessed by the labels on the bottom. Lovely green transfer Lovely blue pearlware tinge to the piece. Visible on the back and also some has run on the front Condition report for this is hard and many wouldn't be as picky as it makes it sound so much worse than it is! In reality in lovely order. On close inspection it has 3 very feint 1.2-1.4 cm hairlines- they may not in fact be hairlines as they look like just darker and heavier bits of crazing as they following the crazing spider pattern. However Also 3 tiny pinhead 1 milimetre nibbles to the glaze on the rim(Not to the body of the piece) None of this is apparent on the front or frankly easy to see. Most wouldnt mention! Couple of small glaze imperfections to the front. 7.2 inches Please see for the rest of my military. A superbly colored Prattware / Pearlware figure emblematic of winter, circa 1800
rhusrluk rhusrluk Antique pottery in good taste– harmic.little A delightful Pratt ware/ pearlware figure of a young boy wearing a hat with a cape drawn around his shoulders. Representing Winter; Staffordshire or Yorkshire, circa 1790- 1810. This fantastically evocative little figure depicts a boy wearing a wide-rimmed brown hat and orange cloak and yellow breeches. His cape is tightly drawn around his shoulders protecting him from the cold wind. He is standing on a molded green base and is wearing brown shoes. The figure is approximately 7 1/2 inches in height and was probably copied from creamware examples made by the Wood family of Burslem. The quality of the modeling is really convincing and is further enhanced by the photographs provided. Unfortunately. It has been broken in two pieces just above his shoes. The two halves have been glued ... moreback together to preserve the figure. There is also a small repair on the base along with several sliver chips. His hat also has two sliver chips. This piece stands 4” tall(or 10.2 cm) It has a top diameter of 4 ¼” 11 cm) not counting the handle. Condition: This handsome mug is in very good condition. With no chips, cracks or repairs. Blue Staffordshire Pearlware Pictorial Miniature Tureen INTO THE WOODS 1830 Toy
Early Miniature Pearlware Toy Vege Tureen INTO THE WOODS Staffordshire England c.1830 This is an uncommon historical Staffordshire miniature toy vegetable tureen c. 1830. It was made as part of a complete children's toy transferware dinner service. The creamy square soft paste earthenware bowl measures 2 7/8 in diameter with clipped corners. A flared rim and flat rimless bottom. The piece is transfer printed in a rich cobalt blue with a pearlware glaze, hand cut from the mold. The dish is impeccably potted and finely detailed. Depicting a thicket of woodland scenery in the background. The pattern name is unknown and the exact maker has not been identified. The quality of the form and detailing of the image is far superior to what would be expected on this diminutive sized piece. The tureen is in overall fairly good condition. With a tight ... morehairline or ageline in the upper left hand corner and no other chips, cracks or repairs. Overall age patina. Stilt marks and minor imperfections original to the making and typical of these early wares, but outstanding overall considering age and scarcity of the form and pattern. Examples are extremely hard to come by. The tiny tureen is a pocket size work of art and will make a fine addition to any collection of childrens wares or miniature doll house transferware dinner wares. Offered as is. We are also other early miniature pearlware ceramics to mix and match. Please send us a note with any questions or if you would like to see additional photos. Thank you for bidding! BIG, BEAUTIFUL ADAMS ROSE STYLE STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE EMBOSSED PITCHER
I AM SELLING PERSONALLY OWNED ITEMS FROM MY COLLECTIONS DUE TO THE NEED TO DOWNSIZE. PLEASE EXAMINE ALL PHOTOS CAREFULLY. AND ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. I TRIED MY BEST TO CAPTURE FLAWS IN PHOTOS. BUT WITH THE WHITE BACKGROUND, IT WASN'T EASY. FIRST. BASICS: IT IS BIG, BEING ABOUT 10 1/4" TO THE HANDLE TOP. THE BODY IS MOULDED. ALL PAINTED DECORATION IS VIBRANT AND INTACT. TH EMBOSSED DETAILS ARE BEAUTIFUL. IT IS IN THE ADAMS ROSE STYLE. I BOUGHT IT AS DATING AROUND 1840. SO THAT'S HOW I HAVE LISTED IT. I AM NOT AN EXPERT. NOW. FOR THE FLAWS. THERE'S A TINY CRACK ON THE RIGHT TOP OF THE HANDLE, WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE BODY. I THINK THAT WAS IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. I SEE A SMALL SCRATCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE, BETWEEN THE HANDLE AND THE EMBOSSED AREA. NEAR WHERE THE TOP OF THE HANDLE ATTACHES TO THE BODY, THERE IS SOME ... moreDISCOLORATION. THERE IS ALSO SOME DISCOLORATION TO THE FRONT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE LIP. THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT I AM HAVING A HARD TIME DIAGNOSING: THE TOP LEFT SIDE OF THE LIP HAS AN AREA THAT SEEMS DISCOLORED. AND THE GLAZE IS THICK AND UNEVEN. THE GLAZE DOES APPEAR TO BE PEARLWARE. I CAN'T DECIDE IF THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING FLAW, OR IF IT WAS CRACKED, AND REPAIRED. THIS WEIRD GLAZING IS ALSO ON THE INSIDE OF THE LIP, TOO. I THINK THAT THIS PIECE DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY FROM ALL ANGLES. AND WITH THE LOVELY DESIGN AND BIG SIZE, IT WILL LOOK GREAT ON DISPLAY WITH YOUR OTHER SIMILAR PIECES. I'VE DONE MY BEST TO ACCURATELY DESCRIBE WHAT I SEE. AND. I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE ANY ISSUES WHEN I BOUGHT THE PITCHER. I GENERALLY DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS. AS I DESCRIBE AND PHOTOGRAPH TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. HOWEVER, IF YOU RECEIVE THIS AND FIND FLAWS THAT I FAILED TO POINT OUT, YOU CAN RETURN IT, BUT YOU MUST PAY RETURN SHIPPING. I CHARGE FLAT RATE SHIPPING. BUT IF I EVER OVERCHARGE BY ONE DOLLAR OR MORE, THE BUYER WILL RECEIVE THAT AMOUNT IN REFUND. SHIPPING IS TO THE CONTINENTAL USA ONLY. PAYPAL PAYMENT IS EXPECTED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
