Massive Minton Parian Sculpture by Beattie 1850 "Love Restraining Wrath"
This is a beautiful Massive Minton Parian Sculpture by Beattie 1850 titled"Love Restraining Wrath" It is massive almost 19" tall. By W. Beattie 19” Shape 252. Shown by Minton at the Great Exhibition of 1851. One of several allegorical group. William Beattie designed specifically for Parian production. Very rare. When they are found the blade is usually missing. This one only has a small chip off of the cape(see picture) that has a very old repair that is sanded smooth(no glue was used, just smoothed where the chip was off. In mint condition this piece recently sold for $3000. This one only has a minor blemish and if you didn't know it was done you wouldn't even be able to tell that it had any problem whatsoever. Antique Parian Ware Jug by Keys and Mountford, Stoke-on-Trent, ca.1855
An unmarked parian ware(bisque porcelain) relief moulded jug called Boy and Eagle depicting boys stealing eggs from birds nests. The design was produced in several sizes by Keys and Mountford Pottery. A partnership at Stoke-on-Trent dating from 1850 through 1860. The jug is illustrated in Warman's English and Continental Pottery and Porcelain II. Page 240. This pitcher is 7 in. 17.8 cm) H at tallest point of spout and in very good condition with a couple of small areas of discoloration on part of one boy's hand and part of his hair. ANTIQUE PARIAN WARE/STONEWARE PITCHER 11" TALL WITH HIGH RELIEF DECORATION
Magnificent antique parian ware pitcher cast in high relief with grapes and grape leaves and allegorical figures around the middle in drunken splendor. A bit naughty however. As one of the male figures is pinching the buttocks of his companion and the scene around the entire piece appears to represent debauchery and drunken fun. The grapes and leaves around the top portion are finely represented and detailed. The handle is moulded to represent grape twigs. As far as damage goes there is a chip off the inside of the lip of the jug approximately one inch and is not very noticiable. There is a hairline crack to the inside of the pitcher not seen from the outside. Also one of the faces of the figures is totally missing and I think that was done in the manufacturing process. There is a little brown staining on the top grapes in a couple of places, ... morebut again, very slight. Unmarked on the bottom except for the numbers 6 over 49. I am not familiar with this type of ware so maybe an expert out there can fill in the manufacturer and date. I do know that this piece is old as it was purchased many years ago. Pair of Parian ware vases with cream relief cherubs against blue background
Here is a wonderful matched pair of early fine Parian vases with great attention to detail. In the relief there are numerous cherubs playing among well-defined and foliage. There are several borders. Including the top of the vases encompassed by a large vine motif with heart-shaped elongated leaves cascading around. The bottom of the bases display shell-shaped borders, along with pretty leaf and flower detailed inserts. Although these early vases are sometimes found as singles, it is difficult to find a matched pair, especially in such excellent condition. These vases, thought to be manufactured by Samuel Alcock, are Victorian, mid-19th century English. One is just slightly larger than the other, by less than 1/8. One is a smidgen under 5" high and the other is 4-7/8" The diameter of the bases is 3" The background color is ... morea soft greenish turquoise/blue. The relief work is done in cream. Both vases in excellent condition. No crazing. No cracks, no restoration or chips that would attract from their beauty. There is a loss on the bottom of one that is less than 1/16" circumference. We are only pointing this out for those of you looking for absolute perfection. In a matched pair like these, we do not think this tiny flaw your enjoyment of vases, or its value. She appears to be feeding the bird. Figure measures about 11 1/2" tall. About 8 3/4" wide at base and about 6 3/8" deep at base. Figure is overall in excellent condition with no only real issue being a chip to back side bottom edge which measures about 3/4" across(see photos) There are no other chips or cracks other than a few minor firing cracks done in the making. There is a faint horizontal linear mark across right outer thigh which appears under magnification to be a series ... moreof minimal firing cracks or separations(see photo) apparently in the making. There are a few minor surface marks and some minor soiling. I don't see any maker's marks. All in all, a great piece that displays beautifully. NO RESERVE. Belleek 5-1/2" Blue Ribbon Embossed Creamer made from Parian - Ireland - EC
This is a very unique and often hard to fine 5-1/4" tall creamer from Belleek. It made from Parian. Which is a type of bisque porcelain and has an embossed ribbons and wreath on each side of the creamer along with one above the handle and at the base of the handle. The front right below the pouring spout has an embossed image of a man's face and beard. Very distinctive and elegant. It was a gift and was kept as part of a collection and never used. It has no chips, cracks, nicks or glazing. It comes from a smoke and pet free environment.

ANTIQUE-MID 19TH CENTURY SHELL+POLKA DOT BENNINGTON-BELLEEK ? TRIPLE PARIAN VASE
This pretty vase is in rather good condition for being a mid 19th century piece. It has two chips off of one of the top edge of one of the cornucopias. One is scooped out of the edge and one is an outer edge flake. Due to the scalloped edge design of the tops of these it is not as noticteable as it could be it the edges were smooth. This vase has a pattern used on several Bennington pieces shown on pages 168 and 169 of"Bennigton Pottery and Porcelain" by Richard Carter Barret(1958) I believe it was referred to as polka dot between shells. It also stated these wares were produced between 1847 and 1858. My photographs are not very sharp. The little shells are much more detailed with the little lines that run through them all of the way across like a scallop shell. The polka dots on mine are not as pronounced as some I have seen but ... morethere are some examples in the Bennington book with dots like this one has. This piece is porcelain with a semi-translucent body and a glossy opalescent finish on the glaze as if it were a piece of Belleek. This piece is 6" tall at the tallest. 4 3/8" across the top at the widest and 3 3/8" down each side of the base. I do not know if any of the Bennington pieces had this type of finish or if Belleek did any in the shell and polka dot pattern. So, being a novice in this area, I can not truely state whether this is a piece of Bennington or of Belleek that was unmarked or had an impressed mark that filled with glaze and it can not be seen. If anyone can help me with any information about this I would really appreciate a message. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Please make an offer if you like. These are a wonderful example of the finest Parian Ware produced during this time. The detail is spectacular from their toes and fingers to the pages in her book to the curls on their heads. The facet stopper might not be the original. But it fit well. When I purchased this cruet I thought it was in mint condition, but there is a black dot at the very bottom and I don't know what it is. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.very clean! I would describe the color as a"light" ivory or off-white. The overall height with the lid in place is 7-1/4 inches. The jar by itself is 5-5/8 inches. The diameter of the china is 4-1/4 inches at the top and bottom. While the jar bows out to a maximum diameter of almost 6 inches around the middle. Decorated with four quintisentially Irish shamrocks or three leaf clovers in the interior of the ashtray and the celtic knot in a pattern between the cigarette rests. Backstamped with the 6th mark dating the piece between 1965 and 1980. Very good collectible condition with no chips. Nicks or cracks. Paint is crisp and beautiful. It is elegantly embossed on all 4 sides with flowers(I believe they are lillies) The front is colorfully accented in shades of pink. Yellow, and green. The base is complemented by golden rims. English Antique Parian Chimpanzee Figurine Coalport Victorian 19th Century
Details: This is a rare. Early, large size Parian bisque figurine of a seated"thinking" chimpanzee. The figurine is unmarked but very typical of the Parian figurines produced by the English firm of Coalport China Works for a short time in the mid 1800's, so I am confident in attributing the figurine to that maker. The details are superb, the limbs are molded away from the body, the expression on the face is striking, the hands are realistic. And the texture of the fur is well defined. There is an example of a chimpanzee figurine very much like this one in the Ironbridge museum in Shropshire, England, the birth place of famed English naturalist Charles Darwin. This is a very fine bust and she is unfortunately broken. The neck has been glued but could use a better repair. The girl has no marks and she is about 7 inches tall. There might possibly be a nick above her eye but it is hard to tell if it was original or if it is a chip. The girl is wearing a cross. The bisque does have some dark pin prick marks and it might be normal. I don't know.

This is a quite superb 19th century Bing& Grondahl parian male figure leaning on the head of the female. Underneath a B& G mark for the said period with to the rear: incised Eneret mark. Wonderful large figurine group. The male is mounted on the rectangular base with his arm leaning on the head of a female who is mounted onto the square base. Intricate detailing to both. A large and heavy figurine group with an overall height of about 14.5inches. Max overall base size of about 6.75 x 4.5inches. Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is subject to: male would have something in both hands which one. The lower, has a chip to. A very elegant Parian Vase made in 1863 for the wedding of Prince Albert Edward-The Prince of Wales to Princess Alexandra of Denmark(later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra) It is beautifully moulded with heads of the Young Prince and Princess on both sides and has the Prince of Wales feathers around in various places on the vase. Also a raised design of leaves and grapes. Mainly on the lovely handles. The vase is approx 10.5 inches high. It is mainly in very good condition but there are a few leaves and grapes missing(very vulnerable as raised) but does spoil this Vase at all and thus the lower price. Her thick brown curly hair flows beautifully over one shoulder and down her back. The predominant decoration throughout is rich gilding. The floral detail and fringing to the dress are particularly pretty as is the additional patterning to the headscarf…she is extremely well proportioned and the relief moulding overall is delicate and detailed even showing dainty finger and toenails. The overall condition is very good with a small shallow chip to the back of the rim of the base…there are no cracks or restoration ... moreand the gilding has remained bright and intact. The pedestal base is 4½ ins/10.6 cms across and the figurine stands 12¾ ins/32.2 cms high. Beautiful Victoria & Albert 1840 Wedding Parian Vase
Lovely Parian vase made in 1840 for the Wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Lovely shape and has as sort of false handles leaves and bunches of grapes which are raised-in relief. On one side is the raised head of the young Queen and on the other side that of Albert and they are on pale blue backgrounds. Very elegant piece. the vase is slim and approx 7 inches high and in general good condition-has a small sliver on the top and there is a leaf missing on the side-very beautiful and elegant commemorative.
