There is a large scent bottle with stopper(7.25 inches tall) and a covered jar(5.75 inches tall) Both pieces are beautiful blush pink with bronze or brass ormulu fittings. Very pretty! The condition is very good. The ormulu shows some minor tarnish/wear. And the neck of the scent bottle has a small internal line that you can see only when you hold it to the light. Art Glass Salt Shaker DOUBLE CASED CUT to CLEAR Opaline Cobalt 1890s
A rare and lovely antique salt shaker. The body is clear glass encased in a white opaline layer which is then encased in a rick cobalt blue(darker than the pictures show) outer casing. These have been cut with elliptical shapes and cross hatches to reveal the clear glass. Although this is probably of European origin. It is reminiscent of the glass of the Boston Sandwich company so I've listed it in the North American Art Glass category. Condition: There are no cracks or major chips but there is wear related pinprick sized chipping on the outer casing- I see this as commensurate with the age and from being a piece of utility. Household glass wear. The silver colored metal(possibly sterling but unmarked) has several dents and splits. This tile does have a bursted surface bubble on 1 corner and surface crackles along this same edge where there is also a soot inclusion. The surface is also a bit raised and textured in the area of the opaline swirl. This color not seen too often. Its gorgeous! Antique blue opaline or milk glass dresser box casket in pretty much perfect condition measuring 4" high by 4 5/8" long by 3" wide. There is a small fold in the glass on the edge as shown that occurred during making and a tiny flea bite flake on the underneath as shown. The front piece is just an escutcheon shield shaped cover-at the time of manufacture I guess they could chose to either add a lock or cover the pre-cut out with a fake shield type escutcheon. The gilt tole frame has a nice aged patina and tiers of delicate branches draped with very unique glass beads. Blue opaline glass drops are dripping from 4 levels and there is a blue opaline bobeche at the bottom. The three candelabra arms have lovely old ribbed clear bobeches which tie in nicely with the original beaded swags. Currently working with e-14 base sockets. You can easily change to US sockets or use adapters if desired. All vintage wiring should be checked and installed by a qualified person. Here for bid is a victorian vaseline opaline& cranberry footed vase. The exact age& maker are unknown. This very pretty vase stands approx 4 3/4" tall and is approx 3 1/2" wide. This is a hand blown piece with a semi rough pontail mark. When exposed to a blacklight the feet are very UV light reactive& will glow a bright neon green color. The rest of the vase does not glow nor react to UV light. There is 1 small issue. On the rim there is a small flat sliver chip. Here for bid is a pretty vaseline opaline footed vase with a baby blue crest. The exact age& maker are unknown. This very unique little vase stands approx 5 3/4" tall and is approx 3 1/4" wide. This is a hand blown piece with a polished pontail mark. When exposed to a blacklight the white opaline glass glows a very soft pale green color and the baby blue crest glows a purple/ lavender color. The amber feet do not glow. The only problem I can find with this vase is where the amber glass flows upward in a leaf like pattern. There is some chipping to the leafy applied glass. Its not very noticable unless you are really looking for it or running your fingers over it to find it. Still. You are bidding on one OPALINE MILK GLASS vintage design pressed glass jewel. Diameter is 65mm. 2 1/2" This jewel has a slightly textured back which diffuses the light somewhat. This can barely be seen from the front yet has a cool effect. These glass jewels are part of an on-going project to revive vintage and rare glass designs. Although the designs are mostly vintage. The glass is NEW and is kiln cast by me in the MarbleOddityGlass Studio, Vermont. This glass can be used in stained glass panels. Suncatchers, mosaics, for lighting projects, as unique accents in backsplashes or anything else you can imagine. I design these jewels with an edge for copper foil, lead came or grout. On some pieces the edges have been ground to remove any sharp spurs that occur during casting. The jewels are pressed so that the edges are about 3-4 mm thick ... moreand the back of the jewels are mostly flat. Please look carefully at my pictures before bidding. I try to show how the glass looks backlit with either daylight or lamplight coming through as well as a lowlight picture so you can see the texture and design. The glass is more beautiful than it photographs. But the pictures give you an idea. Many of these jewels have a few small, internal air bubbles. This is a stunningly beautiful Hand Painted Blue Opaline glass decanter/ water carafe with matching under plate. The decanter is in excellent condition with no chips or nicks. The enameling is in wonderful condition as well. With just some minor age wear, mostly at the rim. The scallop under plate is in fine condition as well, with few small shallow flakes to the underside on scallop edge. See photo#5& 6, hard to notice but can be felt. Otherwise just stunning. The enameling on the plate is excellent as well with minor gilt wear to scallop rim edge. Photos show very well. The blue opaline color just glows and really shows off the whitish enameling with heavy gold gilt accents. Any item over 250.00 will be shipped USPS Express with direct signature confirmation by buyer. This is a gorgeous 19th century French opaline glass jewelry casket with mounted bronze ormolu. I have searched all over for one like it and could not find one. This piece has a bluish whitish mottled opaline glass with wonderful detailed ormolu mounts and I believe the interior is original. It measures about 4.25" wide just the glass box but with the bronze feet it is about 5.5" x 4" give ... moreor take. The gilt dore on the ormolu is pretty much gone but it still looks fabulous. The feet are acanthus leaves I believe and the side handles are hinged. The clasp still snaps shut on the lid and I see a little tiny tiny nick on one corner that is almost invisible. I rubbed my finger across it and there are a couple small areas with some roughness felt but not seen. Items I sell are not new. They have been used so do not expect mint condition unless otherwise noted. Measurements are approximate and may not be totally exact. Keep this in mind when bidding. Fine crisp moulding, with bark lik top section handle, under star base design, and scalloped rim. This is not signed. The glass is in good order. There is an expected amount of age associated wear and tear chip. Crack free. Pictured miniscule fritting to inner rim. Height of the glass is 5 inches. Bowl diameter is at 6.75 inches! Gorgeous Unusual Cranberry Spanish Lace/Opaline Brocade Bride/Wedding Bowl
Absolutely gorgeous antique Cranberry Spanish Lace or Opaline Brocade bride's bowl or wedding bowl. While it is in and of itself a beautiful piece of cranberry opalescent glass. This is very unusual in that it has a"pie crust" ruffle as opposed to the usual eight lobed ruffle that it most often seen. This is most likely a fine example of Northwood's skill as Fenton did not often stray from established format in design. The bowl measures 10" in diameter by 4" in height and has no chips cracks or other defects oth4er than a few entrapped(not broken) air bubbles which were common to glass of the Victorian era. A truly exquisite piece of cranberry opalescent art glass fro a bygone era. As cranberry glass required the infusion of gold into the molten glass, this is a particularly valuable piece and one that is seldom ... moreever made at present.
