It has been notched at the bottom to allow for a cord to pass under the glass(see photo#2) It measures approximately 4 inches Tall and 5 inches in diameter. Vintage ART POTTERY LAMP Base Brown Gloss Raised Design Antique This is a wonderful art pottery lamp base featuring a raised scroll and feather like design in a glossy brown glaze. Approx. measurements are 8 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" wide. Good vintage condition with a few minor glaze irregularities as is common with this type pottery. Very minor. It does have a chip like place on very bottom by hole. No other chips. Cracks or repairs. Unsigned but possibly Brush McCoy. Really a wonderful early pottery lamp base. Vintage items are a piece of history and always in style. Offering styles and construction that cannot be duplicated today. came out of some sort of big power tool- a VERY unique piece that is usually recycled and reused. measures about 7" tall x 3.5" wide in the center. the hole that goes all the way through the middle is right about 1.5" wide(inner diameter of the hole) the center'spikey' strip is brass. I assume the rest to be steel. the two'smooth' strips do rotate and move. does stand up by itself on either end and weighs just over 5lbs so it is a sturdy piece. Offered for bids from my personal collection is this space age Eames era mid-century modern tall textured black. White and gold piece of pottery that I originally thought was a vase, then imagined it as a pillar-style candle holder and finally decided it was meant to be the base for a lamp. All three are distinct possibilities! The fourth possibility is that it is just a really cool looking piece of sculptural pottery which is why it has been on display in my home for the past 15 years. It is 15½" tall, 5" in diameter at the base with a 2½" diameter opening at the top. Most of the piece is in vertically textured white and gold lines, while the bottom portion is glossy black with incised vertical gold lines. This auction is for a Cranberry Opalescent Oil Lamp in the Windows pattern. It was made by Fenton for the L.G. Wright Co. The lamp measures 9.5" tall to the top of the collar. The font itself measures 4.5" x 4.5" It has a beautiful milk glass base. It is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. There are two tiny specks of ash on the bottom. Which is common in this type of hand blown glass. The original wick mechanism has been replaced with an electric light adapter. I can easily be changed back to the oil wick kind. ANTIQUE Ornate VICTORIAN BRONZE & BRASS Hand Painted OIL LAMP Base GWTW Parlor
Gorgeous antique hand painted Victorian oil lamp base. There is a larger hand painted flower on the front. And a smaller one on the back. The metal looks and feels to be bronze above and below the hand painted base. The ornate pull out container with wick looks and feels to be brass. There is a little corrosion inside where the container goes and there is a scuff on the paint(last picture) Also a little extra minor cleaning may be needed. I did not want to take the chance of accidentally damaging the piece by trying to clean it. The brass pull out piece looks to be in excellent shape with a wick that has never even been used. The top piece has prongs that are adjustable when it comes to putting a chimney or Gone With The Wind style shade on top. They bend to the place you want them to be. I think it could comfortably fit a shade that is 3 ... more1/2" 5" in diameter at the bottom of the shade. Prongs may bend smaller or larger. I did not test it out too much. Here is a Mosaic lamp& shade company lamp base you don't often see. The rarest to find. It is stamped mosaic shade co. Chicago. The brown painted finish is in pretty good shape, though there is some paint losses you can see. Also,there is a bit of rust on the bottom. The lower sculpted sections are cast iron. The graduated cylinders are brass with the collar. The sockets has P&S stamped on them. All are in working order. The previous owner put a new wire connected under the base. That you can see on the edge slightly when it sits on a table. In the Oil Lamps 11 book by Catherine Thuro, it resembles the"C Series" of lamp and shows a Gem base that was given its' name by the Atterbury& Co. The base is a beautifully styled one and has a raised affect on the second level. The globe has a beaded heart shaped design at the top with a looped design below the beads. It is 9 1/2" tall. Mid Century Modern Table Lamp Lucite Base Black Marble Design under Column 21" Mid Century Modern Table Lamp Clear Lucite square base with two pieces of square black marble design material under a hard round acrylic column with a crisscross pattern topped off with a round brown and gold metal plate. Base measures 4 1/2" square Lamp measures 21" tall. 13" to the metal plates, 16" to the top of the light socket. This is a heavy sturdy working lamp. There is a nick on back corner of the Lucite base. Scratches on the round metal plate at the top. Shown in pictures.
