You are bidding on an antique Villon Duverdrey Bloquel French Carriage Mantel Clock with the Lion stamp on the back. The overall condition of this clock is Very Good The glass is in clean good shape. The brass is intact and solid(could use some steel wool to make shiny again) The clock winds up and you can set the time. However it only works for about 30 seconds. I think it just needs oil, because when I pick it up by its handle and gently twist, I can see through the top glass the movement on the top will spin back and forth and I see the gears moving but it will slow down to a stop after 30 sec. I can do it many times and every time it's the same. It's been sitting for a few years in a glass china hutch so it probably just needs a basic tune up. This beauty has a Porcelain/ china housing and is made in France between 1850-1899. The porcelain is in an excellent condition and has beautiful bright colours! This whole clockset is in an absolute amazing condition and full functioning. The toppiece can be seperated from the clock itself. It has a nice clear(silver) bell chime which chimes each half hour and on full hours. This clock is completely original. Of course this clock comes with a key. ANTIQUE FRENCH CLOCK STAND/BASE w/ STATUE Antique French clock base/stand with figurine/ statue of a man in hat and coat. It is approx 12" tall. 10 1/2" wide, 4" deep and weighs over 3 pounds. The figurine is 6" tall and is screwed into the base. The clock opening is 3 1/2" and there is a rectangular cutout on the inside bottom for a pendulum. I was told this is French from the 19th century. There are 3 defects(see pic) 1) The tip of the leg has been repaired from behind with what looks like a weld. 2) A small area has been retouched with a brighter gold material. 3) The leg is missing. Please consider this antique French wall clock with an 8 day movement. The clock is 25 inches tall. 19 and 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches deep. The movement although unmarked appears to be a Morbier with super heavy brass construction. The movement has been cleaned and tested so is in very good operating condition. The clock chimes once on the half hour and then chimes the number of the hour on the hour. AND THEN. Repeats the hour count at about two minutes after the hour. Just in case you missed the first count. The chime is of the coiled spring type and is of medium volume. The wood case is a gloss black and has a good appearance. There are repaired areas at both the top and bottom of the outer case that can be seen when close and the right light angle. Tried to show the rough areas in the photos. The dial is metal and carries the name Collaine'Dumand ... moreas well as Courtenuy. Dial is in decent shape however there is a ding on the edge between the numbers 7 and 8. The inlay looks to be abalone or some similar material.all intact. Glass over the dial is good. Even has a bubble or two to show it is original. The pendulum and key look to be original. And the porcelain dial is signed by the maker, Legrand a(of) Fauville. Fauville is a village in Normandy, northwest of Paris. This pendulum is original and in very good condition with a nice old patina. There are a couple very minor dings. And some old polish residue on some of the rods, as one would expect form a pendulum of this sort over 100 years old. Measures 40" tall from the tip of the top piece to the bottom of the bob.
