This is a fully restored French Carriage clock made in France. It is a bronze frame. 5 glass, repeating carriage clock with 8 day time and strike on hour and half hour plus alarm. The clock measures 6.5 I nches H igh(handle raised) x 3.25 I nches Wide x 3 Inches Deep The professional restoration and overhaul was done in the summer of 2013 and includes a new Swiss 11 jeweled balance platform. The movement was ultrasonically cleaned and hand polished. A detailed receipt for restoration will be included. The clock is in near mint condition for age with no damage and has a balanced polished finish to the bronze. 18th Century Duverdrey & Bloquel Antique French Brass Carriage Clock -- WORKS!
Up for auction is a beautiful carriage clock by Duverdrey& Bloquel. It has retained its patina which gives it a bronze-like quality. I don't believe this clock has ever been shined. It may actually be bronze- we're not really sure. The mainspring appears to be fine and the balance wheel is moving freely as you can observe through the oval window at the top. The clock measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handle and 3 1/4" wide. The porcelain face is beautiful and the hands have turned a blue-ish colour. Not being a clock expert I am not able to guarantee its condition. But its owner assured me that it was serviced years ago and was in working order in the 1980's. I have since recently wound it and it has kept time. It has a new key that is not original to the clock. Invest in this gorgeous antique timepiece now. Gilt trim and garnitures. Fantastic hand painted flowers porcelain dial. Topped with a Aug. Moreau lady figure. About 24 inches top to bottom. Garnitures and statue have great patina. Untouched. The onyx is a beautiful wet green with fantastic marbleing. Some cracks in rear but still solid. Really the only negative thing I can say about this clock is that it runs a bit fast. The widow of the owner of this clock told me that her late husband always thought this might be an unmarked Japy Freres movement but had no way of proving such so I am listing the clock as unknown manufacturer but definately French. The face of this clock is totally scratch and scuff free and the face surround is unblemished and shines as it did when first manufactured. The face features Roman Numerals. The body of the clock is inlaid with what appears to be marcasite. But I am not sure. The movement is brass with an advance/retard adjustment just above the 12. It is a nice clock and will make an excellent addition to your collection or a very nice first French clock. Rare PAINTED PORCELAIN CASE TABLE CLOCK WITH HIGH GRADE FRENCH MMOVEMENT
FRENCH PAINTED PORCELAIN CASE TABLE/MANTLE CLOCK Here is a very nice little French clock in a hand painted porcelain case. The case is finely detailed with gold leaf lines. Flowing floral side panels and the painting on the front panel is signed Prous. Some crazing in the glaze under dial as shown. The bezel has nice gold gilded finish with beaded trim on the outer edge. The convex, beveled edge crystal is in great condition and is tight in the bezel. The white porcelain dial is clean and bright with minimal chipping around each of the winding holes. The movement is a high grade French drum style and is signed S. Marti. An original style adjustable pendulum is included. The movement strikes the hour and half hour on a coiled gong. The movement is not running as the time side mainspring is broken and it needs cleaning. Measurements are 12 ... moreinches tall X 7 inches wide X 4 1/2 inches deep. Dial is 4 1/2 inches diameter to the door edge. This would be an easy restoration and the end result would be a wonderful addition to any collection. The Longwy case has the impressed number"1932" on it, I would think this is the shape. The movement is marked"G.F. The glass doors front and back work and neither piece of glass is broken. I gently moved the minute hand and the clock started running, and chimed when it got round to the hour. It also chimes on the half hour. I do not have the key, and it looks like the clock should have a pendulum- which I do not have. Please email me if you have any specific questions. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The clock is just over 10 inches tall. The base is approximately 7.5 inches by 5.5 inches. The clock weighs 5 ... morepounds 11 ounces. CONDITION: There is no damage to the body of the clock. This one has been in my personal collection for a number of years but. Now that I have downsized to a smaller home some things have to go along to a new home. Measurements are: 16 inches tall X 11 1/2 inches wide at the base X 7 inches deep. Dial measures 6 inches to the edge of the door. This clock will be expertly packed with set up instructions. It weighs 35 pounds as it sits so the postage will be a little pricey depending on where you are but I won't cut corners on packing and risk it getting damaged. Up for sale is this antique French clock movement. From a clock that was retailed by Bailey Banks& Biddle. Movement signed AD Mougin Deux Medailles, also has a number and the letters EM perhaps the importer or crafter? This is being sold as is for parts or repair, as you can see there is some wear and corrosion. One of the screws that attached it to the bezel, came off at the head so it is still there( this is shown in the photos) This came to me in a busted up marble case, I set it on a table and it ran for days, i have tried a few time since and it did not run again. This is I believe a French Mantel Clock Pendulum& Key. I got this from an old estate with the key taped to the Pendulum and the tag said mantel clock on it. I'm guessing it is a French pendulum but I'm not really 100% sure.It has a long rod as you can see. The key looks very much like a number 10 key but may be a hair smaller I have no way to test it's size but it is old. Weigh of the Pendulum is 4 ounces and it has a number 2 on it. Exceptional and hard to find Antique Carriage Clock by Grottendieck Brussels circa early 1900s. We are not clock experts and have had this in the family for many years. The clock is comprised of an intricate brass guilded style body with carriage handle. It is marked 11066 on the clock. Key and original box. Truly a magnificent clock in person! The clock is in nice condition for its age. No cracks in any of the glass. The top glass appears to have a little glue and an internal chip. This nice clock is being sold in as purchased out of an estate condition. It is an antique so.Therefore, it is not flawless. It is in good condition for the age. There is a key and pendulum and it runs like a top. The clock may need adjusting after shipping. The clock has a double chime. It has a porcelain face. There is a chip in the top piece of molding and it looks like there is a piece missing from the top of the clock and possibly a finial on either side of the clock. This little one is so nice. Unique and beautiful. These movements Morez/ Morbier are sweet. Strong and more desirable in my opinion. It has a string and peg to disable the chime. The dial is a silver plated copper with engraving and it is awesome but not original to the clock( original dial would have been glass-back painted) The door glass is reproduction old style wavy glass so it looks good, the key and pendulum are replacements, it is clean. Oiled, springs lubed and running and striking properly. All the wood is strong and stable as is all the inlay Mother of Pearl. It measures 24 x 19 x 6 inches. Antique Sunburst Starburst French Wall Clock Gilt Wood Frame
This is a great antique clock dating from approx. 1900. I believe the origin to be France. The clock frame is a sunburst design constructed of gilt wood. The clock face is metal and enameled. There is a crack in the enamel of the face between the 9 and 10. The frame itself is in very good condition. There are 2 pieces of the starburst missing. 7 pieces are not attached but I have 5 of them so 2 spears would have to be reconstructed. At some point. The movement was removed and replace with a battery operated movement. Please see pics. Overall, I would classify this as very good condition. It will make an impressive statement in any decor. The very strong and sturdy piece with a rising inlaid moulded clock housing. Revealing inside a beautiful circular hand painted enamelled clock face with scrolled brass clock hands and a working key, rising above a central door with decorative brass lattice grill with the original period pleated curtain behind, and flanked at either side by conforming Parquetry inlaid doors which reveals once opened two large adjustable storage shelves. There are no breaks or repairs on the case that I can detect. It has been refinished over time. I acquired it in a clock collection as you are viewing it now. I have done nothing with this clock and have decided to let this clock go as is with no guarantees. The movement will require a spring on the time side as when you wind it up it winds for 3 to 4 turns and slips. There is no strike arm to hit the bell. The cam post is there and another will required to be fitted on the cam post The movement is an eight day time& strike model it also has the serial number 52989 and has the number 6 at the bottom of the movement The flat onyx marble is in very good condition including the four marble ornaments and the original gold gilding on case. There is no damage to the case or repairs that I can find. This is a nice clean all original clock case The dial measures is 3 1/2 inches
