This marble clock must have had a statue on top it at some point of time. The 2 holes had been filled in. They are not visible, especially when you put a nice classy statue(or your favorite) on it, as I like to do. The back of the French clock has a logo, which looks like has“L. Up for sale is a heavyweight. Totally original, double sided, octagonal French station wall clock. The clock was made by famous French clock makers Brille. It is incredibly rare to find an octagonal Brillie clock of this size. The clock's two electric movements are currently being restored(or if possible will be fitted with two high torque quartz movements enabling the power source to be two AA batteries instead of mains electricity) The inner light fittings are also currently being restored allowing the clock to light-up as it once would've done on a station platform at night time. As can be seen in the photographs the clock is beautifully molded with a wonderful polished metal patina, off white face& large simple black metal hands. Do use wood and other mediums. Here the finished original clay is now complete. The sculptor will take it to the foundry now, get a bid then begin the first stages of the lost wax process. The first step can be shocking for some as they begin to decide how this original will be cut up. In order to prepare the original clay sculpture for molding. It will be dissected by cutting the clay with wire and by cutting the armature with a saw. The armature is what helped support the clay in place while the artist was creating it. Note the registration marks which later in the process will serve to realign the parts. Shown here are the sections of the original clay sculpture after having been dissected. Now the various parts of the original are carefully mounted on clay plugs before the rubber mold material is applied. The clay plug later serves as a pour spout for the mold. As you can see now they begin painting the latex rubber onto the original together with the clay plus that's been added in layers. antique French inlaid wood clock Made in France with convex glass
Here is an unusual table top(or mantle) wood cased clock that was Made in France I believe the wood is inlaid. But I am no expert when it comes to wood. Overall it is in excellent condition. And measures about 9 5/8" high, 8" wide at the base of the brass legs. The only markings I found on it were"Made in France" on the back of the movement. As well as the numerals I show you in the pictures above. The clock is in working order. And does not use a pendulum or need a key. As you can see in the back the winder is part of the movement itself. On the very top of the movement is that wheel that spins back and forth just like a watch. The clock works fine. But I cannot attest to the timing of it. There are some nice accenting brass ball finials on top. And all four legs are made of brass as well. There are two pillars in the ... morefront that have brass finials on top and bottom I am quite sure the dial is porcelain. But I cannot be sure. I have tried looking for any cracks or breaks in it but I could not find any, so that makes it even more difficult to determine if it is porcelain. The hands look like brass. And the convex glass in front. the glass is surrounded by a brass frame. The casing on the bottom right is a little loose. A small bit of glue will hold it well. But I will leave that to you. You can also see on the right side there is a small sliver/piece of wood that is missing. Not that noticeable but I thought I would point it out just the same. CLASSIC ANTIQUE FRENCH"0bis" CARRIAGE CLOCK(made in the 1890s) IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION* I have been restoring vintage clocks for over 30 years and finished work on this one in my workshop earlier this year. Since then I've had it in my sitting room! I'm now replacing it with a clock I have just finished work on) The movement is of very high quality with a separate dial plate and blued screws on the back plate. Indeed. All screws are in very good condition which suggests that the clock has only been dismantled once or twice since new. I completely dismantled the movement, checked it carefully for wear then cleaned polished and oiled it- front and back. The whole clock is now in showroom condition- in my opinion, about as good as these antique carriage clocks come! Height(with handle folded down) 4 1/2 inches(11.5 ... morecms) Width 3 inches(8 cms) Depth 2 1/2 inches(6.5 cms) CASE: Solid brass in excellent original condition. All case parts including the base. Are stamped with the manufacturers batch number(93) showing the clock to be completely original. The clock still has its original base masking plate. I stripped off the tarnish then cleaned, polished and waxed the parts prior to rebuilding the case. It now has a rich antique patina which should last for years before needing another polish, and looks much as it would have when new. MOVEMENT: An 8 day timepiece. B eautifully made with a separate dial plate(with the motion work between the front and dial plates) In great condition and in full working order. As with the case, I completely dismantled the movement to clean and polish it. Then after rebuilding it, I oiled it with appropriate grades of clock oil. I also cleaned and oiled the original silvered lever escapement- which now works strongly with very good amplitude and an exceptionally quiet tick(good for insomniacs! Having an elaborate faux painted wooden case, painted to look like ostrich skin, with chinoisserie style flowers, inlaid with mother of pearl, and with ormulu appointments. The dial is white enamel with ormulu surround and the ormulu pendulum is very ornate. The clock has an 8-day movement and it is in good working order, made by Chaumont of Paris, signed on the movement. The only damage I can find is a boo-boo at the base on the back of the clock. Vintage Jeweled French Poodle Animated Novelty Clock by California Clock Company
You are bidding on an original. Vintage, ca. 1964 Jeweled French Poodle Model P1 animated novelty wall clock by the California Clock Company in Like New condition with its original box and guarantee. The date of ca. 1964 is arrived at by the absence of a zip code on the guarantee postcard. And the four cent stamp required to send that in. The box is in good condition with some shelf wear evident. And it is marked Jeweled Black, which matches the contents of the box exactly. The poodle clock is about 9 1/2 inches tall exclusive of the tail. And about 13 inches tall when the tail is installed. The poodle has all of the jewels present. The body is in excellent to near mint condition, and it appears that the cord was never unwrapped. I plugged the clock in. STUNNING CLOCK This is a New Haven clock but it has the best French look to it. Its got a cherub on top holding a torch and its got a very rococo feel to it. There is porclain on the bottom with 2 woman and there is one little area where its either a knick or just paint loss I show in photo 5. Other than that it looks like its in good shape. However it doesn't work. We wound this and it works great. Has an oval glass view window on the top with a small crack in it, but the rest of the glass is great. Signed on the back with the name France, the letter L and F in cursive. We found three companies in France who signed it this way, Lacloche Freres, LeRoy and Fils and Louis-Joseph Fernier. We are not sure which one made this. It is marked on the case in numerous places 0692. A well made clock in a small package it measures approx. 4 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" wide by only 2 1/2" deep. Walker and Hall Miniature Mantel Clock (French Movement) in Working Order
This is a lovely little clock. Despite appearances(that suggest a standard mantel clock) only about 5" x 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" I think these were made to appeal to the"bright young" market as big houses were divided into flats and studios and small metal fireplaces intended for bedrooms were in the main room. The solid wood case is a little battered. But only superficially, the brass back is missing, but unnecessary.and it keeps super time. A rather unusual Empire style clock.I believe it is probably French. The trademark is a star in the center of an upside down horseshoe I was told the wood might be ebony What is unusual is the metal scroll work is embedded in the wood.It is NOT painted and it is perfect.The movement is a count wheel and it strikes on a bell.It is an 8 day movement and although I have not run it in years it stated up and is running as I write.It strikes the hour and once on the half hour there is a minor mark on the dial from the center down to the 6. THE PLINTH OF THE CLOCK CASE HAS RED ENAMEL HAND PAINTED OVER WITH GILT, AND ENAMELS IN BLUE, AND GREEN DESIGNS OF GREEK KEY, ROSETTES, AND PALMETTES. FLANKING THE BARREL OF THE CASE ON THEIR OWN ENAMELED PLINTHS ARE MAGNIFICENT SQUATTING WINGED GRIFFINS. IN THEIR MOUTHS ARE POLES WITH THE ENDS ATTACHED TO FINE DRAPED LINK CHAINS. Antique / Vintage FRENCH MANTLE CLOCK ~ CASE w/ Marble-like Insert
ANTIQUE FRENCH CLOCK STAND/BASE Antique French case/stand with marble-like insertsc(I don't know the exact material. But it is translucent) There were some notes that accompanied this that mentioned 19th century"gilt bronze" but again, I don't know details. This is approximately 11" tall. 4 1/4" wide, 3 5/8" deep and weighs a little over 2 Lbs. The front and back openings are approx. 3 5/8" On inspection. I see 4 things worth mentioning(see below) 1) Small tip was repaired. 2) Both sides: something was once attached? 3) Missing leaf. 4) Small areas(no specific spot) look lighter colored like they were touched up at one point. I know little about vintage clocks. So please feel free to contact me if you need any extra details or need to make corrections.

Stunning Antique French Ormolu Gilt Bronze Figural Mantle Clock - Beautiful
Up for auction is this Stunning Antique Gilt Bronze Figural Mantle Clock ~ Man Writing with Quill Pen. I really don't know anything about it since it was purchased from an Estate. The figure is in Amazing condition. The base which I believe is marble does have a crack in the front, I think it can easily be repaired. I was told by the peson selling it that it does run, but I know nothing about clocks and I could not get it going. It is fairly heavy and weighs approximately 21 pounds, so the packing weight will be about 25 pounds. It measures 12" tall, 15" wide and 6" deep. Posted with

Antique, French, Grandfather clock, 1850-1870, Mobier
Antique. French, Clock and Long Case, 1850-1870, Mobier. 7-8 day, double strike. Dial surround is made out of pressed sheet brass. Shows a harvest relief, pendulum weight is a polished brass disc(approx. 12 cm diameter) and it is attached to a folding pendulum rod that attaches below the clock face. The pendulum moves in front of weights, verge escapement. Mobier clocks were always made at homes often by farmers, and were supplied as a movement only, without housing or weights. The village carpenter then produced the housing and the village blacksmith made the driving weights. The case is hand hewn with a bulge at the middle to make room for the pendulum, and hand painted with red roses and garland.The case stands over 6ft tall. This is a complex antique. Striker escapement(small piece of metal with teeth) is complete. But fell out during ... moreour last move. Just needs to be put back into the mechanism, requires a 10 minute repair. Original purchase price $5000 in 1999.
