The key fits the winding arbors and the brocot suspension arbor. The porcelain dial is in great condition. No staining. Hairline cracks, and only the tiniest of chips next to the right winding arbor. The pendulum has a nice patina. Or could be buffed to a shine. The flat glass has a bevel along the edge. It has a scratch. But no breaks or chips. Estate find. And has not been tested. The movement is relatively clean. Both springs wind. 2 screws ... morefor the mounting straps are included. 1 strap has broken off, but broken cleanly, and the broken off piece is there, so it could be soldered. Total height is 29inches. Beautiful marbled onyx in a soft almost luminous green. Gilt metal scrolling foliate mounts and highlights. It looks to be guilded in gold on the side pieces with the figures and the remainder of the may be as well with some light wear on the base in spots. Overall very good condition. It is very heavy weighing almost 17lbs it measures 13" tall. 11" wide. It ticks and the hands move the bell rings at:30 and 12 every hour. It is keeping time fast may need to be adjusted. Vintage 1928 CHELSEA CLOCK CO. BOSTON Bronze Desk Clock & French Barometer
192718 would date the clock to around 1928 or 1929. The visible portion of the clock face is about 2-1/2" in diameter. The case measures 7-7/16" wide x 4-3/8" deep x 2-13/16" high. The clock weighs 5.5 pounds. The clock is not running. The mainspring is broken. The winding key turns smoothly and clicks. But the broken spring can be felt slipping. The balance seems intact and turns smoothly in short arcs, but the second had does not move. I assume that there is a problem with the pallet fork or other part of the escapement. The barometer is marked MADE IN FRANCE. As you can see. The beveled front glass is cracked. It appears to work as it showed a pressure drop during a recent storm. There is a noticeable ding on the bezel of the clock as shown. The exterior of the clock is dirty and tarnished. I made no attempt to clean ... moreit beyond wiping it off with a soft cloth. The bronze case has a hand-stamped serial number that matches the clock. A clock collector that I showed this to said he wasn't sure that the case was actually made by Chelsea. He said that the case appears too crudely made, pointing out the hand stamped serial number, the slight grind marks made to let the winding key turn freely, the hand-cut appearance of the Fast-Slow slot, etc. I am not a Chelsea collector and you will have to be the judge of what you're bidding on. The movements came mostly from the Franche-Comté region of Lyon or Normandy precision escapements were manufactured in the watchmaking centers on the French-Swiss border. The escapements were mounted above the movement and to see through the glass top of the clock. The movements were assembled in Paris. Where most coach clocks were made. This auction is for stunning French Art Deco figural clock. The clock movement is marked J.S. France and number 71317. The gold clock face reads Mannot and Fecamp. No damage to the marble or figures. There is a pendulum and chime. The clock chimes on the half hour as well as the full hours. Clock MUST be balanced to run. On top of the clock sculpture of a young man holding a large bouquet of flowers for young lady. Included key and instruction how to assemble pendulum to the clock. A very finely cast antique. Circa 1850's, French bronze statue mantel clock. The front and sides are ormolu finish, with red, blue, and green, enamel accents on flowers and diaperwork. The statue is of a sultana, the base in Moorish Revival taste. The clock runs for a short time and stops, reason unknown. Clock sold"as found" Included is a gilted lead weight pendulum, no key included. The dial is olive-brown color metal with orange enamel numerals. It measures 19" tall by 14-1/4" wide by 4-3/4" deep. Case is excellent condition: original finish(slight gilt wear on her neck and breasts) no dents or breaks. Polychrome accents are slightly worn. Her left hand is missing an object.

Wonderful French Vassilier! This piece is in exceptionally good condition for the age 1790-1820's. It comes apart for ease of moving in 2 pieces with the top section lifting off the base. Top is 51" tall and base is 53" tall with it being a 8 ft 8 inches tall. It is mainly made of walnut. Has original finish and is pegged together typical of that era. The size is quite impressive. The massive locks, keys and hardware are hand made and add to the charm of this early piece. The clock is unique in design with the pendulum and 2 weights dropping down from top into the base. Up for auction this affordable mid-sized heavy French marble clock from the late 1800s. It is in excellent running condition. Keeping perfect time and chiming away the hours and half hours on a very dainty sounding bell. Manufacturer is unknown however the movement is marked GP, 780 and 44. The number on the internal pendulum matches the number on the clock(780) The case is black marble and slate in very good condition(except for a hard to note small chip in the low left side of the base as you can see in the picture) The bottom of the case has a hard to read stamp“E.M. This is a French mantel clock ca. 1880. It is in a white alabaster case with brass accents and an alabaster urn on top. The two round discs on each side and the rectangular piece on the bottom are replacements. The dial is white fired enamel with blue Roman numerals. There are some small scratches on the dial and a fine crack by the numeral VIII. The base supporting the urn has a crack on the back side. The 8 day springwound movement has an outside count wheel and strikes the hours and half hours on a bell. The movement appears to be complete with the exception of the pendulum rod. There is a key. The dial is a beautiful navy blue porcelain numeral chapter ring with gold roman numerals and spade hands.The jeweled pallets on the open escapement is set in a nice engine turned dial center area. The top of the clock has four brass finials which makes for great ornamentation to supplement the gold highlighted etching on the top and bottom front. An Exceptional late 19th Century French Solid Walnut& Kingwood Parquetry inlaid Clock/ Bookcase Cabinet with a beautiful enamelled Clock inset. The very strong and sturdy piece has a rising inlaid moulded clock housing. Revealing inside a beautiful circular hand painted enamelled clock face with scrolled brass clock hands and a working key, rising above a central door with decorative brass lattice grill with the original period pleated curtain behind, and flanked at either side by conforming Parquetry inlaid doors which reveal once opened two large adjustable storage shelves. The whole is embellished with Brass Ormolu mounts and lock Escutcheons. The sides of the piece also finished in the cubed parquetry decoration. There is a working key which fits 2 of the three doors. The base of the interior has been replaced at some stage and one of the brass locks does not work. Up for auction is a wonderful antique French bronze/brass? Cartel Clock. Circa 1880-1900. The clock's dimensions are approximately; H- 20" W- 9" D- 4.5" The Case: The brass/bronze case is in excellent physical condition. There are no cracks. Chips, scratches, scrapes, etc. I'm not sure if the case is brass or bronze. I do know its pretty heavy and has a wonderful established patina. The Dial/Face: The porcelain dial/face is in excellent physical condition. I can not see and/or feel chips. Breaks, etc. The brass hands are absolutely stunning. On the dial/face it has 2 names painted on it, one I can not make out the name and the other name appears to be"Versaille" The Bezel: The brass/bronze bezel is clean and closes tightly to the case.
