Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous antique French clock circa 1787. This clock is in working condition. It is made out of bronze and porcelain. It also has a beautiful painted scene of birds and flowers at the bottom. There are markings on the bottom. But they are difficult to make out. It has the hands. Pendulum, back cover, screws for the cover, dial, bezel and mounts. The porcelain dial has a couple of chips at the hour hole and the winding hole. All 3 pieces have the Tiffany and co stamp on them. The movement also has the matching Tiffany stamp. Circa- 1870. Case Absolutely amazing quality and detail to the champleve enamel designed panels that are are all 3 pieces with a beautiful multi blue colouring which is all original and all complete. The clock has a superb 4 glass ... moredesign to it with all its original gilt bronze ormolu finish to the frame that is all in excellent condition. The clock has a fantastic curved design with both the side panels and the front door are all curved and have a fabulous display look. All 4 glass panes are bevelled on all sides and in excellent condition apart front a small chip in the back pane in the bottom right corner. All the curved panes are in imacculate condition. To the top of the clock it has a champleve bell top design with a floral finial on top and to each corner it has matching brass acorn finials all of which are in original undamaged condition. For auction with no reserve is a Working Victorian French antique solid brass and beveled glass small carriage shelf alarm clock with a white enamel on metal dial face. Made in France and signed C. H. The heavy brass framework is undamaged and complete. With an expected patina. Leather carry case is very worn and frail. Inside is an 8 day key wind all brass movement. Everything seems to be OK except for a Chip in the enamel face in the upper left corner as seen in the last photo. The main springs are not broken and all gears and shafts seem tight. There are some rough spots on the edges of the beveled glass panels. Measurements are approx. 5" high(not including the handle height) x 4" wide x 4" deep. It gives me great pleasure to offer this superb quality antique French striking carriage clock by one of the finest carriage clock makers of the nineteenth century Pierre& Alfred Drocourt. Paris. A Large Odd Wooden Mantle Clock French Mechanism with Porthole Glass Door I think it may be late Victorian/ turn of the century. Obviously hand made and not by a master craftsman. I think it is likely to be an apprentice piece. The mechanism is French and probably pre dates the body. If you look closely at picture 1 you can see that the carved shape isn't perfectly symetrical. Picture 2 shows that the wood has many inherent natural faults. Unsure what the wood is but it has a beautiful dark red finish. It looks like it was a poor end piece of an expensive block. I would imagine that it would normally have been discarded. Picture 3 shows that the hole/ aperture for the mechanism has been badly chiseled out and not properly finished. It also looks ... morelike it has had a number of covers fitted over the years on the back to hide this. The clock is finished off with a transfer of roses. Not uncommon for clocks around the turn of the 19th century. Sorry no key but it is working quite well. Multi keys are available on Ebay. Size approx- 360 x 225 x 115mm Wt approx- 1625g hence the high postage cost. Please be aware that this clock is likely to have been standing unused for quite some time. In order to achieve optimum accuracy I would recommend that the mechanism is cleaned and regulated.

As featured in plate VII/23 on page 171 of Charles Allix's definitive book on carriage clocks Following careful restoration. This good quality clock is now in fine condition CLOCK DIMENSIONS: Height(with handle folded down) 4 1/2 inches(11.5 cms) Width 3 inches(8 cms) Depth 2 1/2 inches(6.5 cms) Recently. I spent several peaceful hours completely restoring(case and movement) this classic fine quality carriage clock which was manufactured in France in around 1900( probably specifically for the wealthy Victorian British market) It is an 8-day timpiece only(i.e. non-striker) CASE: Solid cast brass in excellent original condition. The rear door- which opens and closes with beautiful precision- ... morebears the manufacturers batch number 39; this number is repeated on other parts of the case- showing it to be completely original. I dismantled. Cleaned and polished the case and, rather than lacquering it, gave it a couple of coats of micro-crystalline wax polish to delay the tarnishing process(this also means of course, that it will be easier to give the clock a light clean in future) The case now has a rich antique patina and looks much as it would have done when new. MOVEMENT: Beautifully made numbered movement with a good quality original brass 7-jewelled compensated cylinder escapement. The inside of the front plate of the movement is stamped with the initials CA in a small circle followed by the numbers 15 168. The back plate is engraved with the letters S(low) and F(ast) to indicate the direction in which the index lever should be moved to adjust the timekeeping. All screw heads on the back plate have been attractively"blued" I completely dismantled the movement having first checked it carefully for wear. I then cleaned and polished it and. Finials and the base are in perfect condition with no restorations. The bronze fittings and the ormolu are also perfect. There is a tiny damage to the hand painted enamel face just to the right of the number“6. I didn’t notice is at first, but one of the black feet is a replacement. The rest of the enamel face and the fancy gilt hands are perfect with no restorations. Both springs are in very good, strong condition and this clock is trying to rum without the pendulum attached. When I tried to attach t pendelum I noticed that the thin spring piece of metal that holds the pendulum to the clock is out of kilter. If this little piece is adjusted properly, I guarantee this clock will keep good time once again. The clock is extremely large& heavy. Weighing about 90 lbs. The urn-form garnitures weigh an additional 20 lbs. each. The clock is a done in a French style. With a heavy neoclassical revival influence which was popular in high-end design in Victorian-era America. The clock is in good working order, retains its original pendulum, and is in virtually flawless condition. The exception is that one piece of brass ormolu is missing from the bottom of one of the garnitures. B. SIZE/DIMENSIONS This clock measures 16" tall. 18" wide, and is 7" deep. French Art Deco Enamel&Bronze Clock
At auction is one very high quality example of French Art Deco. I know the clock movement is that of a pocketwatch variety and is marked CH HOUR FRANCE 2 ADJUSTMENTS and 15 JEWELS. I do not know whether this movement is an 8 day movement or simply a 40 hour or so type there is no mark to indicate. The movement is dirty but wants to run with any shift of direction of the clock. The balance wheel begins it's motion. Examination of balance wheel area shows very old and dry lubricant which is likely the only thing keeping this movement from running well. Charles Hour was a very high line Horologist working in Paris in the last quarter of the 19th century and into the first quarter of 20th century. A quick check of the Internet will reveal Tiffany and Black Starr& Frost appear to be the USA's outlet for Charles Hour's products. ... moreThe indications given tend to show the company was no longer in business by about 1920 which both gives rise to questions and dates the piece to a very few years just before production at the CH Hour factory ceased and a few years afterwards when Ch Hour's wholesale customers still had inventory remaining. The clock dial has black Roman Numerals in good condition surrounding the dial in an exploded Art Deco manner. You can see there is enamel loss to the numerals. The dial itself appears to be bronze with a painted form of heavy gilding that as the photos indicate are in different stages of depth and brightness. FRANCE is on the dial under the numeral VI. The Clock hands are blued steel. The dimensions are very large for an enameled clock and may best be understood in the photo taken with a a 12 ounce/355ml COKE can which you can see is smaller than the clock. Approximate measurements are 7 1/4 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches wide. An examination of the form. Style and execution of the clock's blackboard frame and enameling gives me the impression of transitional Art Deco where elements of nature remain the centerpiece of the design with Secessionistic influence along with

Fresh From an estate is this french Vedette Wall Clock I believe Im not 100% sure. Im not a clock person. The movement is visible with a little glass port hole on each side of the case. The case is oak. The body of the clock si in good condition given its age. The bivel glass is wonderful and reflective. I do not see any scratches or cracks. The dile is faded and dent free. The clock ticks but I do not guarantee it runs. it comes with the original pendulum an key. Pictures are part of my description, I took alot for you to look at. Selling it as is no returns. Beautiful Franz Hermle Solid Brass & Porcelain French Style Mantel Clock
This is a Wonderful Solid Brass French Style Franz Hermle Mantel Clock with beautifully decorated porcelain pillars& panel. This clock works great and has a wonderful double hammer melody to the chimes that chime on the one and the one half hour. I'm not sure of the age but my best guess is 1950s or 60s it is not antique even though it looks 1800s. The condition is fantastic I see no issues with this great clock it works great and looks great! The clock stands 17" tall it is 10" at widest point across the feet and it weighs 8.14.5 pounds it has a 3 1/2" dial beveled glass and it is all a very heavy gauge brass with a light patina. It is a C1925(I think)FRENCH EARLY ART DECO MANTLE CLOCK. I think it is early DECO as the principal shape is still quite curvy. For a simple clock it is very well made. As an example instead of just glueing the strips on they are fixed with bolts with aluminium nuts! The feet are turned& polished aluminium too. There is a SIGNATURE on the back that reads R HIRLEMANN, I could find very little out about him/her other than he made a barometer also signed thus. The BAYARD movement has been replaced with a quartz one(needs a battery) but luckily appears to have retained the ORIGINAL HANDS& the DOMED glass is in good order too. These little French movements are easy enough to find if you want ... moreto return it to winding up every 8days! There are a couple of marks on the varnish but nothing too bad& it displays well from the front. I am not an expert on this type of thing so your comments would be welcomed& added to the listing. This auction is for an antique French Duverdrey& Bloquel shelf clock. It is in good condition. But still isn't running. Porcelain face has one chip at the 10 o'clock. Pieces are still in the bottom of the face. Face is marked"FRANCE" at the 6 o'clock. The balance wheel travels back and forth but it doesn't tick. When wound, the clock takes off really fast. I'm sure someone with practiced hands can get this working in no time. I'm selling this as for parts/ or repair. Rare Large Vintage French Longwy Mantel Clock. Cobalt Blue and Gold, Runs Offered for auction is this beautiful cobalt blue and gold porcelain mantel clock. In a small and hard to read circle on the back. The clock is marked"Longwy" followed by a"K" and a"687. There is a tiny circle between the"6" and"87. Below the circle, are the numbers"1980" Longwy is a famed French company, located in the Alsace-Lorraine town of Longwy, that has manufactured high quality porcelain and porcelain since 1873. The clock is about 12 inches high. 6 3/8 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. The glass covered face is a gilded color with an elablorate raised leaf design in the center from which the two decorative black hands are circling. There are raised gilded designs on the top small knob, and around the top of the ... moreclock extending down to the four feet. On the main body of the clock, under the face, is an elaborate brighter gold design over the blue that almost has a middle eastern appearance. The interior of the clock is a glazed white. On the back is a large brass disc that opens and allows access to the movement which is electric. When plugged in. The clock runs. This clock has no cracks or chips or crazing. The electric movement is marked"Ingraham Co. USA. Model Z 115 v. 60 cy. 3W" and some illegible mark. This clock was purchased some years ago at an estate auction. As noted. It runs when plugged in but no warranty is offered as to the accuracy of the time kept or its continued operation as I am no expert on clock operations. French Brass Carriage Clock Porcelain Face J E Caldwell& Co Runs Here is a great brass carriage clock for your buying consideration. Recently picked this clock up at an auction. Required no servicing. Has been running since I first wound it. The clock has a porcelain dial. The dial does show one crack that runs horizontally from the 9 over to the 3. Another crack from the left top corner that goes thru the 11. The face of the clock has J E Caldwell& Co below the numbers of the face. The face of the clock has black markings for the minutes. At each number there is a gold colored dot of paint. The hands on this clock are just beautiful and do match. Beautiful brass case on this clock that has darkened from age. The rear door of the case has both hinge pins on it as well as the know. The inside of the door has the number"559" ... moreimpressed on it. Did nothing to clean the case but wipe it down. All five pieces of the glass. Including the top piece, are beveled. The glass on the front is blistered in the lower left hand corner. I see no blistering or cracks to the other four glass pieces. Nice brass movement on this clock. The back of the movement has J E Caldwell& Co and Philadelphia under the knob that controls the keys. Made in France is also impressed on the top middle of the movement. The spring of the movement feels sound when keyed. The key that comes with the clock is two sided and both winds the clock as well as can be used to adjust the hands. The clock stands 4.75" tall(5.75" with handle up) By 3.25" across, by 2.5" wide. The clock(together with 9 others) comes from an old clock- and watchmaker. We were told that the clocks were never used and were found in the attic in France. Because it was never used the mechanism is blocked and needs a service to make it work again. The bakelite however is therefore in very good condition(no chips. VICTORIAN BRACKET OR MANTEL CLOCK WITH FRENCH MOVEMENT - PERFECT WORKING ORDER
Please see the pictures below the description You are bidding on a very elegant Victorian bracket or mantel clock which is being sold in full working order and keeping excellent time. It has an inlaid mahogany case which is in very good condition apart from some age cracks at the back and the front of the curved top. And a vertical crack at the bottom of the back on the door hinge side. This can all be seen in the photos. The inlay is excellent. It stands on four brass bun feet. The back door is fretted with a cloth lining, and has brass hinges and a brass catch, this being operated with a small square key. There is no door key with the clock, but it can be opened easily with a small screwdriver or similar item until a key can be obtained. I would add that the entire case appears to be completely original, with no repairs or modifications. ... moreIt is fitted with an eight day French striking movement which has an adjustable suspension, adjustment being done at the front top of the dial. There is no maker on the movement, just a small circle containing some floral decoration and the wording'Marque Depose' The movement does carry the numbers'5608' and'57' the larger number matching that on the pendulum bob. The movement strikes the hour and the half on a brass mounted wire gong. It runs to the full length of its wind. The dial, which is convex in shape, has a silvered finish and black painted numerals. It has some deterioration of the silvering, mainly in the centre. It has steel hands. The heavy bezel is cast brass, and it has its original thick convex glass which is nicely bevelled. There is a key with it which fits perfectly, although I do not think this is original to the clock. This is a very nice looking clock indeed, working perfectly, with a nice, mellow strike. I have taken plenty of photographs to show its general condition- unfortunately, some of them do not really do the clock justice. Please contact me if you need any further information. This is an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL NEAR ALL ORIGINAL example of an RARE AND UNUSUAL HIGH CLASS. HIGH QUALITY FRENCH MANTEL Clock in OUTSTANDING condition, it was made circa 1880. This one has a WONDERFUL RARE(This is the very first one like this we have ever seen) design with unique high quality decorations and ORIGINAL SUPERIOR CONDITION PORCELAIN AND BRASS DIAL. No cracks or hairlines. This fine clock is rare and is of the highest quality. Was made by Japy Frères. One of the very finest makers of French Clocks. The only part not original is the professionally restored finish. The statue is as perfect as they get, the girl has all her fingers and toes, etc. The French clocks in our collection have not yet required any servicing and have kept perfect time for many, many years. What a beautiful clock! It has a high end signed Japy Frères ... more8-day time and strike movement. Strikes the hours and half hour on a sweet sounding bell– perfect for a room you would like a very quiet clock. The ticking is barely audible. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. RARE Antique French Bayard Marble Mantel Alarm Clock Art Deco Reveil 1920 1920s
This is a Bayard Alarm clock in an Art Deco style. I believe the clock to be made of Marble. The clock winds via 2 non-removable keys in the back. Clock and alarm are both functioning. It seems to keep time well but needs wound daily. Clock measures 3 1/2" wide by 4" tall with a depth of 1 3/4" The clock face itself measure almost 2 1/2" across. There are a few note able scratches or cracks around the edge of the clock face(see photos) There are a few indents around the edge of the base and edge of the rounded portion that may be natural to the stone or damage. See pictures for better detail. I believe the clock to be from the 1926-1929 timeframe but cannot be certain. Gold Ormolu Ornate Figural French Mantle Clock Case only
Up for auction is a ornate mantle clock case. It features a boy and a girl. The boy looks like he is ringing a bell and the girl looks like she is doing a curtsy. I do not know the age at all. The gold is worn in places near the bottom and I see no marks on it. It stands about 14 1/2" tall. Please email with any questions. Thanks for looking.
