I am still highly debating whether I really want to sell it, but I do prefer carriage clocks with more ornate cases. This clock is fully functional- it runs and strikes properly, also both repeaters work perfectly. One side glass has a small chip(see the photos) Front glass has a tiny surface chip, so small that I have not been able to take a picture that shows it. I have not timed the clock to see if it keeps the time accurately. But this is, of course, easily adjustable. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 7" high(with handle extended up) 3.75" wide and 3.25" deep. I am not a clock dealer- I am a clock collector and a member of NAWCC. This is a beautiful Empire gilt/dore bronze and red marble clock around 1800-1849 made in France. it uses a French movement with silk suspension. It works perfectly fine and keep a exact time, The red marble case has few small chips on the edges and one large in the back right side corner. The top cherub is made of BRONZE as well with a very nice dark patina, his details are impressive. He was supposed to have two flutes in his hands that are no longer there. Rare French Gilt Bronze and Rouge marble base Clock signed F. BARBEDIENNE on the bronze and F. BARBEDIENNE PARIS on the dial. 9.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide at the base. The French 8 Day platform escapement is signed J. E. DUPONT PARIS. Two hammers striking on a gong. One for the time and one for the alarm. The movement has not been tested or taken apart. Clock runs for 30 seconds than stops, probably just needs a cleaning. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines to the dial. The case is in great condition with no damage or repairs. Excellent detail to include the 4 fluted 3/4 columns. Four glass beveled sides surround the case. One of the side glass sides has some chips, but this piece could be replaced for cheap money. Barbedienne foundry was started in Paris in 1838 by Ferdinand Barbedienne and Achille Collas. Who was the inventor of a machine that would mechanically reduce statues. They at first produced bronze reductions of antique sculptures of Greek and Roman origin. Maradeuse” by Francois Moreau" c1890-1905– red marble garniture case: dated between 1890 and 1905. It includes the key. A beautiful bronze 15” finial of a peasant girl holding a basket of fruit. The figure is incorporated with marble node& stand. The clock has a beveled glass door. The clock face appears to be reversed painted numerals on glass. The finial has a metal name tag with the inscription: MARADEUSE" Par Francois Moreau. The maker's mark. Louis Moreau is incised on the statue at the base, L&F Moreau” in script. France is incised on the back of the statue. The metal portion is spelter with the original gilded surface still very much intact with the exception of a small ... morearea on the girl’s wrist. Photo provided. This is a large clock standing roughly 22-1/2" tall. 13" wide, 8" deep. We will safely remove the pendulum in transit. CONDITION: The figure is intact. No breaks or repairs. The marble is very clean. Bright and beautiful. No chips, cracks or repairs. The clock works and keeps good time and the chimes work. However. The minute hand needs to be switched. It chimes once at the full hour and the full chime rings at the half hour. For instance, at 4:30 it will chime 5 times then at 5:00, it will chime only once. The figure will turn and twist on the case and needs to be tightened. The legs also need to be tightened as they wobble. They are still intact and strong enough to hold the clock firmly. Antique French Clock Porcelain and brass Sad Case
Here is or was a great French Shelf clock. Made of beautifully painted porcelain and gilded brass some one did not treat this old beauty well. As you can see the porcelain clock case is heavily damaged and then reglued back together none to well. The movement is intact and does run. I have included a key for it. The dial has some chips around winding hole. The base porcelian is intact. All of the brass parts are finely cast. Firegilt and then hand chased in areas. Clock stands about 8 inches tall. Was a very neat clock. I will ship this in pieces and each piece wraped up seperately. If some how one could remove the glue and restore the porcelain case( which if the glue can be removed) this would be quite wonderful and uncommone clock. Here is an extremely rare miniature French clock in a"La Belle et le Paysan" pattern. As inspired by 18th Century toile. The case is deliberately flat in design so that the balance of the figures and rococo elements is emphasized. And stands on a 3-legged rococo base. This clock is signed on the dial"Planchon a Paris" Planchon is a well known 19th Century maker of superior French clocks with high-style cases. This clock is 14 inches high. The dial is only 1 3/8 inches in diameter. The case is in original condition. And its surface retains much of the original gilt finish. The movement is beautifully made and finished. As would be expected of a famous Paris maker. The lever escapement platform looks to be in excellent working condition. The movement works for a short period. Sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes more; ... moreit is unknown when the movement was last taken down for service. Very unusual and interesting black mantel clock. Onyx? Slate? Marble? Maybe a combination? There appears to be brick used in the interior of the base. Appears to be gold surrounding the porcelain clock face. it is not tarnished. I have no idea of its vintage or country of manufacture. France? Germany? I haven't seen another. Could be custom-made? Any help in its ID would be much appreciated. Sale will benefit a local nature preserve. Base is about 13 x 4 inches; base is about 3.5 inches tall. Upper section is about 8.25 inches tall. Description This listing is for beautiful French 19 th century 2 piece porcelain figural clock. The clock measures 17 ½ inches or 44.5 cm high. 12 ¾ inches or 32.5 cm at its widest. The clock is a large and beautifully constructed piece of porcelain. It comes in two pieces with clock and movement is set into the bottom half of the piece. It has elaborate open work porcelain with scrolling acanthus leaves all highlighted with heavy applied gold. At the front is a hand painted scene with a garden party theme. At the top of the clock is a maiden and her suitor; they sit on a see-saw and have their faithful dog with them. The clock has a white porcelain dial with black Roman numerals. The hands are fancy. Impressive ODVY French Art Deco clock dating from 1920- 1930. Featuring two prowling panthers the clock was made ay the Odyv faience factory at Vierzon near Limoges. France and is in fantastic over-all condition with no chips or cracks. The movements(both the clock and the alarm) wind and work well, I can probably send a video clip of this by request. The golden guilding to the panthers has been over-polished in places and its nice that much of it still remains. The golden coloured faced and framed clock has its glass in place, the hands and the face are in perfect condition and the external frame has an aged patina. Antique French Clock and Weather Station
Up for bid is this Beautiful Antique Weather Station. It includes a clock that is a French movement, Thermometer, and Barometer. I believe the case is Fruitwood it is highly carved with one chipped piece, as seen in photo#2. It is 24' long and 8 wide at it's widest point. The Thermometer detaches from the body as seen in photo# 6. Condition: The clock worked for years but one day while winding it the spring broke. It is missing the strap that holds the clock in place. The Barometer works but the hand is bent and there is a fish scale size chip in the glass. As seen in photo#2. Payment is expected within three days from end of auction.

It has two side pieces that are wonderfully Art Deco in style. The marble is in lovely condition for something almost 100 years. The clock has a lovely original domed glass and an undamaged face. The movement is an 8 day one(commonly known as Paris movements) and the clock chimes each hour and each half hour on a little bronze bell. It is working fine and keeps good time(not up to quartz accuracy! But within a minute or two per week) It has been working without any problems, 100% reliable, in my hallway for over two years now. We are once again about to return from our house in France. And have decided to clear out some French antiques that we are not using. so I am putting some on eBay I am at present in France and the items are here. I will return on 15th March. But will be able to bring things with me to post in the UK. thus reducing your postage costs considerably This auction is for a lovely Art Deco Mantle Clock in very heavy lovely varigated marbles and other stone. The polished marble is in super undamaged condition and is VERY HEAVY. Please note the clock case. The face, are all original period items, circa 1920. After this. It gets a bit"different" The movement has been replaced with a modern quartz one. so it never needs winding or servicing and always shows the time very accurately. It takes a single AA battery that lasts for several years. ... morethe one in it has been there for 3 years and is still OK. These movements can run for 5 to 8 years on one battery. This would be a great clock for someone who wants the weight and quality of an original 1920's Art Deco item. But is nervous of wind up clocks, with all the worries about it stopping or needing servicing. The other thing I need to mention is that the lady on the top is a replacement. It is securely fastened however and looks the part 100% In reality 99.9% of people would never notice the"modifications" and it has sat on my mantlepiece for 3 years and no-one has ever noticed it is not a wind up clock. This Sèvres and gold-gilt bronze clock stands 22 inches high. 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep near its base. It has been on my mantel for about fifteen years and adds incredible beauty to my dining room. The clock uses a S. Marti et Cie. mechanism which dates between 1867 and 1889. The clock has been checked and lightly cleaned by a professional clock maker and is in excellent and accurate working condition. MECHANISM- The clock has an 8-day bell-striking movement which is stamped“ S. Marti et Cie” in the center with“ Medaille de Bronze” in a circle around it. Samuel Marti was awarded ... morethe Bronze Medal in 1860. The mechanism and the pendulum have the same serioal number. Samuel Marti et Cie was a well known clock maker in Paris in the mid eighteenth century. The Medaille de Bronze stamp was used during the period 1867– 1889. Clock has its original pendulum and key. PORCELAIN- The detail of a cherub on the porcelain face is very detailed and in excellent condition. The face and hands are original. There is a Sevres mark under the lid but it would requiring disassembling in order to get a good photo of it. It is the crossed“L’s” with“S” inside. Similar to Kovel’s Dictionary of Marks. Page 226. This mark was used starting in 1771 and into the second half of the 1800’s. ORMOLU- The ormolu is magnificent and very detailed. The metal is solid bronze with heavy gold gilt. There is some slight“greening” at the joints which is barely noticeable unless you are looking for it. Owner purchased the clock from an antique dealer in 1998 for $3.150. This auction is for a mid-19 ... moreth century French Tall Case Clock with hand grained paint that has a carved floral design. At the bottom the artist has added his name. The last name is Luval. But I have not been able to decifer the first name. Originally while the milk paint was still wet the artist scraped away the paint leaving an intaglio floral design. The paint on this 7 foot 7 inch tall pine clock is in original dry condition. On the back there is a missing piece of the backboard near the bottom. The back feet are a little shorter than the front. I have seen this feature before on early clocks that were in early homes with sagging floors. The only way to level the clock was to shorten the back feet. Inside a tin case are the weight driven brass works. These works are complete, but we are missing the iron weights. The porcelain face reads, Landais a Quelaines. On the edge, near the number X& XI, are some very fine lines and there are some key scratches around the right hole. The brass frame measures 12 ½ inches wide by 17 inches tall with a 41 inch long by 12 inch wide matching brass pendulum. The French porcelain urns have beautiful handpainted scenes flanked by detailed mask head handles. A small pink urn sits atop the clock. Which has Roman numerals on the pink dial above a painted romantic scene. The legs of all 3 pieces have lovely faces. Wonderful antique condition with signs of wear as seen in photos. Signature and number inside urn as seen in photo 7. The clock is approximately 14.5” tall; bottom is about 5.5” x 6-1/8” The glass on the clock’s dial is around 3-7/8” in diameter. This piece is gilded all over and has a hollow base. Standing on legs. The clock itself works flawlessly and has a working chime. The entire piece is metal, making it rather heavy, and the clock's face is a metal disk. Overall it is in fine shape though it has had small repair work done to the back legs and there is some wear on the gilding in spots. It measures approximately 12.5 in. wide, 14.5 in. tall, and 5 1/4 in. deep. Thank you kindly. Produced in the 19th Century by Paris Porcelain from France. Decorated with hand painted. Floral panel and with elaborate gilded patterning to a aqua blue glazed body. Further embellished with sweeping'Rococo' inspired mouldings to the rims. Marked under the base with the makers hand painted'M.A' monogram in cobalt blue. Please view additional photographs below. There are also a few nibble chips around the curving rim to the front of the stand(can be seen in photo's below) Otherwise, in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. C1820s FRENCH GILT BRONZE ORMOLU FIGURAL CLOCK SILK SUSPENSION PORCELAIN DIAL NR Description This listing is for beautiful French. Circa 1820’s, gilt bronze figural mantle clock. The clock measures 14 inches or 35.5 high. 9 ¾ inches or 24.5 cm at its widest, and is about 4 inches or 10 cm deep. The clock features an open work design with interweaving leaves. Vines and flowers. At the center of the clock is a round porcelain dial with black. Hand painted Roman numerals and black metal hands. The dial also has faded marks at the top and bottom of the face. The top of the clock has a full standing figure of a young man blowing on a horn. And his faithful dog at his heels, behind the figures a fence and trellis. The clock has a silk suspension movement with its original pendulum. It is an eight day time and strike affair with a bell to count ... morethe hours and half hours. The movement is unmarked as to maker. The clock is in very good condition. The clock runs and keeps good time. The original ormolu gilt bronze patina has age appropriate variations to the patina.
