This specific chair was made during the Renaissance revival period and is heavily sculpted with the classical patterns of this era. The central slat is nicely sculpted with acanthus leaves and mounted with a cartouche flanked by detailed Lion’s Heads, all standing on the curved seat below, with nicely scrolled armrests on each side, supported by a sturdy X-shaped pediment with H-shaped stretcher for stability. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. 21 1/2" Tall. 17" Wide and 10" Deep.The automaton under a glass dome depicts a park scene with 7 bisque headed dolls. 4 of the dolls dance to the music, an organ grinder cranks a hurdy gurdy and the two dolls in front by organ grinder do not move. They just stand there and look beautiful. The music is strong and lovely. It works perfectly. I don't believe the clock works but I haven't tried it as I dont have the key to wind it. It has a pendulum in back. All dolls are dressed originally in fabulous clothing. The heads are bisque with bisque arms and wooden legs that wobble back and forth when they are dancing. This is a nice. Working antique French Portico clock with the case made out of alabaster. It strikes the hour and once on the half hour on a bell. The movement, which is stamped"Roblin A Paris" is in very good shape; both time and strike run over two weeks on a winding! It includes gilded bezel and capitals; the dial has a moire pattern and I believe was silvered, though it has darkened. The pendulum is brass. Please inspect the pictures closely. As alabaster is a bit softer than marble, there is some wear on the case. Approximate dimensions are 17.75" high, 9.125" wide and 5.125" deep. Includes winding key. It measures about 7 1/2 inches high and has one of the nicest champleve french cases I have ever seen. With its mauve, blue and white colored case. It has a roman numeral dial about 4 inches high with florals around the inner perimeter of the dial, and it is signed by the Shreve Crump& Low Co. Boston. If you look closely at the dial you will see arabic numeral five minute markers and a gold flower between each of the numerals. The case is brass with champleve throughout. Opening the back door is the french eight day striking movement on a coiled gong. It also repeats the hour with its plunger on top of the case. It is an excellent clock, and i have had it at least 25 years in my personal collection, so it has been in good hands for a long time. This highly ornate clock looks very french. But is actually Italian. It is a ceramiche di castelli. The hand painted face is ceramic. I do not know if it is bronze or brass. This beautiful clock stands approx. 16.25" is approx. 9.5" at widest point and is approx. 4.5 to 5" deep. I do not know the age of this clock, but I have had it for quite a few years. It is in excellent working condition. It strikes on the hour& 1/2 hour with a nice tone. The clock has an enameled ceramic face with some hairlines indicative of its age. The crystal is thick beveled glass. The works are gilt with stamped hallmarks. The upper hallmark reads C. DeTouche. Fseur DE L'EMPEREUR The lower hallmark reads RUE ST MARTIN 228& 230 PARIS. C. Detouche founded his business in 1803 and went on to become one of Paris's better known jewelers and scientific instrument makers. One of his specialties was the making of clock s and watches which he made at his workshop ... moreat Rue St. Martins as late as 1875. The shop itself was a recognized landmark where locals could come to set the watches against Detouche's regulator clock which gave the time. Phases of the moon and the day of the week. Detouche also invented the turnstile counters which were installed at the Paris Exchange building and in 1852 was one of the first clock makers to set about commercially manufacturing electrical clocks. His first electric clocks proved unreliable and failed to capture the market. But later. In partnership with Robert Houdin, he successfully produced a sixty franc electric clock and a hundred franc electric alarm clock. He was awarded a Gold Medal of Honor from the clock exposition in Besancon in 1860. A medal from the 1862 London International Exhibition, and the Legion of Honor for his work with clocks. Antique French Gilt Bronze Clock w Cockerel. Jewels Antique gilt bronze mantel clock. Made in France, 19th century. Measurements: approximately 7 1/2 inches high. A little over 4 1/8 inches accross the front of the base. The case stands on 4 turned gilded legs. Base of white marble with an inset row of ormolu scrolls in the front. Rectangular steps. Tapering towards a marvellous cockerel/ rooster finial. The rooster being a symbol of France, this clock would have some French significance. Golden gadrooning around the base and at different levels. The front with fantastic applied ormolu flowers and foliage surrounding a protruding ring of paste'diamond' gems which enclose the dial. Above, casket like dome surmounted with the cockerel. Excellent modelling with fine detail of feathers and musculature and one can almost feel him rustling ... morehis tail and crowing. Sides of case are fluted. The dial is Classic French mastery and beauty: white enamel with the numerals. Both Roman and Arab(for the hours and the minutes) in dark, cobalt blue. They are surrounded on the inside by a ring of flower swags- exquisitely enamelled in minute detail. The hands of the dial are also quite lovely- very fine gilt openwork. The mechanism of the clock can be seen behind a glass door. We do not have a key. Nor are we clock experts, but I believe that this clock can be put to work with very little effort because when I moved it, I heard a constant tick tock. For sale is a nice reproduction of an antique double sided brass clock. Advertising a French Restaurant in Paris. This clock is new old stock, from parts stored and recently assembled. The clock body is made of solid sheet brass, and by itself weighs 5 1/2 lbs. The lenses on the two hinged bezels are glass. The clock can rotate on the bracket, for viewing from different angles. Perfect for hallway, kitchen, restaurant, or other location which permits viewing from two sides. The hanging bracket is iron with antique finished redwood supports. Solid brass fittings hold the clock to the wood and iron bracket. Bracket can be attached to the wall with two long screws. The two clock movements are quartz AA battery type, made in USA. Two batteries are included. Beautiful antique patina to the sheet brass case. The clock measures 10 1/4" diameter, ... moreis 7" wide at the front, and projects about 17" from the wall. It weighs roughly 7 lbs. complete with bracket. Access door at bottom allows for battery replacement. Time is set by opening the doors and moving minute hand to desired time. The Clock was designed by the famous French designer Leon. Hatot as signed and was then made by the clock firm ATO C1930. The Clock is an electric clock which I think would be referred to as a"electromagnetic" clock. Which he was known for producing. As you can see the clock ... moreneeds a battery installed. My neighbor hooked the clock up for a few moments for me to try it out, and the clock does in fact run once hooked up. Although I could not find a mark on the glass, I was told the glass portion of clock was possibly produced by Lalique for ATO. I did also see a couple other small desk clocks by Leon Hatot, also marked ATO that the glass was attributed to Lalqiue which were sold at Christies auction house. The Clock is a nice size for display measuring approx 10" tall by 8-1/2" across the face or 7-1/2" across the base. The Clock is also in excellent condition overall with the Glass showing no chips, cracks or repairs and the"Bakelite" base showing no cracks or repairs as well. The inside of the Clock is well shown in our photos for you to judge condition. I really have no idea what the clock would be worth never seeing another example quite like this, or of this larger size. But I do know some small size glass Leon Hatot clocks have sold at the higher end auctions well into the thousands of dollars so I think this could be a very desirable find. This auction is for a Vintage 1933 French Art Deco JAZ'Cubic' chrome alarm clock with display/travel case. Clock measurements 2.75 inches high 2.75 inches wide and 1.50 inches depth. This unusual original chrome cubic clock has a silver face with a chessboard pattern on the front. When viewed from different angles the chessboard appears to have a 3D effect! The chrome is in very good condition for it's age, just some very light general wear. The clock runs well and keeps good time and the alarm works well although not a bright ring. The display/travel case although very old has been refurbished with modern materials and it may not be the original case that came with the clock. Here for sale is this Statue of Atlas holding up the Glove on his shoulders. There are losses so be aware. The globe has 3 numerals are gone. FRENCH CLOCK MOVEMENT FOR BRITISH CLOCK LARGE RARE PARTS
Here for sale is this French clock which is signed on the dial Bennet 64-65 Cheapside London movement. The movement is complete however hands do not fit up properly and an adjustment will be necessary. There is a fancy bezel with beveled glass which opens and closes properly. The drop is 9.7 French inches. On the back plate is stamped Ducasse Claueau& Co- Paris. The movement escapes properly and should fit a 5.5" opening. This is valuable parts not easily found. What you see is what you get a very rare and scarce clock movement.
