French Figurative Mantle Clock
A horse and chariot figurative mantle clock with a French movement that strikes on a bell. There is a chip on the porcelain dial at the 8 and 4 position around the winding holes. The beveled glass is in perfect condition. The base is marble and also is in good condition. The movement is stamped“ societe clusienne” S.C.A.P.H.Cluses. The clock is complete with pendulum and key. The clock does run when the pendulum is swung. But eventual stops.

ANTIQUE CLOCK: French Ormolu Case. Gilt Bronze, 1800's. Great Patina,New Movement This is a wonderful Antique French Clock in the Rococo Revival Style. The case is fine ormolu. Mercury gilded bronze. I believe it dates to the 1800's. It has been fitted with a new movement and keeps perfect time. Very often these fine cases were made in France to be exported and sold in the United States. I believe this is the case with this particular clock. As it came from the estate sale of the scion of an old and prosperous Boston family. It is extremely well modeled and cast. Featuring design elements on all four sides. At first glance. These decorations seem to be symmetrical. But they are not. For example. The foliage on the front surrounding the central scallop shell is slightly different from side to side. This is true of all of the foliage ... moredecorations on all four sides of the case. This slight variation from side to side avoids the static effect of absolute symmetry, which can be deadening, even in decorative objects such as this fine clock. At the very top is a wonderful finial. Also asymmetrical, featuring what looks like a Tulip blossom. This rests on a neo-classical, fluted Doric capital. This clock is rather large. Measuring 14 1/4 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches wide at the bottom of the front feet and 4 3/4 inches deep between the front and back feet. There is no damage to this clock at all; it stands straight and secure. Some purists lament the fact that I sometimes place new movements in these beautiful old clock cases. But. As is often the case, the original movement of this clock was broken and corroded beyond all hope of repair. So my thinking is that with the new movement, this beautiful object can be returned to its functional purpose; that is, to tell the time. Which is does perfectly and beautifully. This clock is a French clock made in Paris in 1878. You will also get the matching original urns shown with it. This clock set was made by the Japy Freres company. The clock is made out of solid porcelain. Marble, and bronze. The actual weight of just the clock alone is 30 pounds(13.55 KG) The walls of the case are over 1" thick. The glass door in the front is free from any chips or cracks. This clock is in overall amazing condition for the age. This clock is also working. It is complete with the original precision pendulum and key. There are amazing lion head details all around the clock and urns. The urns are actually candle sticks. French Boulle Clock This clock is beautiful absolutely stunning. Clock is made in Italy and has Franz Hermle clock parts. From bottom to top of ornate topper is 22 1/4 inches. At it's widest width it is 12 inches. Door opening 7 inch wide and 10 inch length. The side of the clock is 5 inches at it widest point. French Bakers Clock Mother of Pearl Inlay C 1890
My mother brought this lock fifty years ago. It is a lovely“clover” form French bakers clock. It appears to have retained all its mother of pearl inlay and original paint. It shows its age nicely. The glass in the outer frame is missing but can be replaced. I’m not a clock expert but did have it examined by one. The movement is a French square plate time and strike(hour and half hour) with its original pendulum. It strikes on a small bell. The steel hands are very attractive. The glass painted dial is signed“Martin A Lyon” The clock is sold in working order and comes with a winding key. I can’t guarantee the clock. But it has been running fine for months on the wall. If it is cared for and maintained well it will provide years of pleasure. Approximate Measurements: 24” high. 19”wide, 5”deep.

You are looking at a Very Large French Marble/Porcelain/Brass& Copper Wall Clock. The clock is 26 inches tall. 26 ¾ inches wide. It’s hexagonal-shaped. It’s estimated to have been made in the early 20 th century. The round dial is marble. All the Roman numerals are porcelain. Surrounded by brass. The hour and minute hands. As well as the center plate that holds them, are solid brass. The background that surrounds the dial is a di-cut brass plate with a flower pattern. The bottom of the frame is wood. The original movement is no longer there. This is my project clock. I’ve tried to find a movement. But it’s been sitting here for many years. Will let the new owner hunt for a movement. The combination Clock Barometer in this auction is unique, and after ... morenot finding another example on the net, it must be quite rare. Measuring 35” tall by 13 ½” wide and 5” deep, this regulator Wall Clock has a wood case with Bronzed Cast Iron floral& acorn accents on the front. At the top is a 6 ¼” diameter enamel clock face with its original hands. The center glass door shows a 15” long pendulum with an enamel facemarked“R-A. At the bottom, is a 3 ½” diameter paper-face Aneroid Barometer. Which does have some light water stains. On the paper face of the Barometer, as well as on the back of the clock works, is a maker’s mark. This mark looks like the letters X and C with 4 stars above it. Do you recognize this maker’s mark? The quality of this 19th century Clock Barometer is excellent, but there are some restorable problems with the clock. In our close up photographs you can see that are a couple of old fine shrinkage cracks to the wood case. There are also some small post beetle holes along the left& right hand edge of the case, but we guarantee that these critters are long gone and the wood is still solid. Antique French figural slate mantle clock 19th
This French mantle clock is made of slate and has a woman carrying a basket on the top. The woman appears to be made of spelter. The clock is 15 inches high. 7 ¼ inches wide and 5 ¾ inches deep. There is an Eastlake style design on the case. The clock has a porcelain face with roman numerals on it for the hours. The face is signed but it has a lot of wear and we can’t read it. The front door has beveled glass. The clock dates circa 1880. The clock is currently running but we cannot guarantee it will still be running after shipment. The movement has the number 363 on it but does not have a maker. The bell has two nuts on it to hold it in place that are not original. There are a couple of tiny chips to the slate case. There is a very tiny chip to the porcelain by the right hole used to crank the clock.

Rare French Empire Period Mahogany and Ormolu Lyre Clock c.1820-30
Beautiful French Empire Period Lyre Clock having a flame mahogany and gilt bronze case in excellent condition. Original eight day movement striking the hours and half hours on a lovely bell. Bell has been re-sil vered. Made by A. Guibert. Orleans c.1820-1830(signed on rear of dial plate) Tardy lists a maker Guibert. Paris, Rue Coquilliere 1820-1830. Orleans is 70 miles south-west of Paris. The fine castings retain their original gilding. Top left paterae has more wear than top right. But very acceptable. Old small repair on rear of top middle casting. Left rear foot was missing and one was turned on a lathe to fit. It's the right shape but isn't detailed like the other three. Movement has just been fully cleaned and overhauled and the steelwork polished and screws blued. Pendulum is an old correctly working replacement. Winding key ... moreis a correctly fitting replacement. Dial retains it's original gilding and the numerals have been professionally re-done. There is a small scratch between 4 and 5 but it doesn't cut through original gilding. The front plate of the movement is stamped Pons. Height is 20 1/4" or 51cm. Width is 9" or 23cm. This is a very pretty clock in good running condition. The 8 day time and strike clockworks run as they should and keep good time. The chime tolls out the hours and strikes once on the half hour on a very pleasant sounding bell chime. There are several restorations as follows: there is a chip that has been repaired in the enamel clock face. The minute hand has been repaired and it looks to us that the urns originally had handles or side decorations that have been removed. Also, the finish on the spelter has been redone. Dimensions: the clock is 17" tall. 14" wide and 6" deep; the urns are 13.5" tall, 4.5" wide and 4" deep.
