It combines superb gilt bronze figures with a white marble base and a blue& white porcelain column which houses the fine small movement. This clock stands just under 14 inches high. The dial is 3 inches across. The pictures suggest. But do not fully show, the high quality of the bronze castings. T h e movement has be e n running well. The Lamps are also richly Gold Gilded throughout with Rare Enameled and Glass? jewels. I was told the Vases would have been produced around the mid 1800's and then later converted into lamps for more practical modern use. I have not taken the lamps apart to see if there are many markings. I know some of these earlier Bronze mounted examples were never signed. The signature is really found in the piece's quality itself and in the fine Jewelling and amazing quality of the Bronze mounts which collectors can clearly see here. The Lamps are in amazing condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, there is minor wear throughout and some missing jewels as I am sure any untouched example would show. Vtg Hand Painted French VASE w Gilt Bronze Metal Lip/Base& Handles: Bottom Mark Up for sale is a vintage hand painted French porcelain 6.25" tall vase with a gilt metal(I believe bronze but am not certain) lip. Top handles and base that is marked"Made in France" As in the last photo the vase is also marked with 3 initials can't read the first so it's?FS. The floral painting is accented with metallic gold. There is some what I believe to be glue showing where the metal has been reattached at some time. I imagine this residual could be removed but I haven't tried. The metal is missing some gilt around the lip but this is a lovely piece. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but believe it to be several years old. Selling this stunning. Highly detailed Gien pottery and bronze faience decorated wall sconce. This beautiful sconce is wonderfully decorated with cherubs, birds, and other mythical animals. The pottery portion of the sconce measures 13 1/2" tall by 9 3/4" wide and the total sconce measures 18 1/4" tall x 12 1/2" wide. The sconce is signed Gien on the back and probably dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece is in very good condition. Where the bronze candelabra meets the pottery is a little loose because some of the rubber bushings that pad the screws have disintegrated and should be replaced. There is some wear(lose) to the back side of the hole where the bronze connects to the pottery and some wear to the glaze in the same area on the front side. This can be seen in the 4th picture. Large Ornate Vintage French Bronze Three Light Chandelier. The large and lavishly decorated ceiling rose is given a gently fluted edge by the ornate pattern on the rim. The suspension chain below has three large links. Two plain and one fancy and attaches to the light by a large opulent bronze hook and finial. The urn shaped central column is lavishly embossed with a mass of swirling swathes of feathers at both the back and front. The main body of the chandelier below picks up design features from both the ceiling rose and central column. Giving a stunning overall look, this continues at the base of the chandelier and is completed with a lovely bronze finial at the bottom. The centre band plain and fluted giving a super contrast. The arms extend from the centre and are richly adorned with an array of scrolling feathers. I have for auction this fabulous gilt bronze traditional hall lantern. It is french and was found in a house clearance here in the South of France, so it is vintage, I have not cleaned the lantern except for the glass, I understand that some dealers do not like their metal ware cleaned, but I am sure it will be much brighter still with cleaning if you want it to be. I would think it will date to C1930s, it is wired for use, but this is old wiring and with all second hand electrical items, it is always wise to have this checked out before use, it is designed to take two standard edison screw type light bulbs, the light bulbs displayed in the chandelier are for display only and are not part of this auction. This classic style of hall lantern is highly sought after at present, you often see them displayed in beautiful homes in the high end interior ... moredesigners magazines, adding great style and class to any entrance hall. This lantern is a beautiful early example, it is lovely quality, it would have been very expensive when first purchased. What I love so much ab out this lantern is the wonderf u l glass cylinder shaped liner. The glass has so much charact e r. That you get with early glass, such as the wavey fluid like effect. It emphasizes it's age and adds great charm. The maximum drop from the ornate ceiling rose is approx 19.5" or 50cms, this could be easily lengthened or shortened by adding or removing chain, the diameter is approx 7.25" or 18.5cms. This is a beautiful Empire gilt/dore bronze and red marble clock around 1800-1849 made in France. it uses a French movement with silk suspension. It works perfectly fine and keep a exact time, The red marble case has few small chips on the edges and one large in the back right side corner. Fantastic Vintage French Four Light Bronze Chandelier. A very decorative and substantial bronze four light chandelier with an abundance of vintage appeal. The large bronze ceiling rose is embossed with a traditional plumed design. Which is seen all over the chandelier, giving a softly scalloped rim. From here hangs the suspension chain with alternate circular and oblong links. It attaches to the chandelier with a huge and ornate bronze hook. It has a beautifully decorated urn styled central column. Heavily embellished with fabulous swirling scrolls and plumage which sits on the centre body of the light. This central body has a plain top. And banded middle, and the base is a larger mirror image of the lavish ceiling rose. It has four opulent scrolled arms radiating from the centre. With a detailed spray of acanthus leaves attached and wonderfully ... moredetailed candle cups at the end, each having a fluted rim and all complete with faux candle sleeves. The base of the chandelier is completed by a rich ornate finial at the bottom. It has the mark LG 344 on the inside rim of the ceiling rose. A lot of the gilding has been rubbed back over time but there are still traces of it adorning the pierced bronze work. I think this would be fabulous above a dining table! It is hexagonal in form and has 6 arms emanating from the body. The pierced work tracery design. Features trefoils, quatrefoils, acanthus leaves and fleur des lys. Up for auction is this rare. Original, vintage french porcelain and gilt bronze four light petit chandelier with pink, green, blue, and yellow porcelain roses. This french cage chandelier has four decorative ornate bronze arms with porcelain roses running the length of each arm. It has an ornate bronze capopy(fits against the ceiling) with a two piece green and pink porcelain body dish(running down the center) and porcelain upper cup at the top and 4 porcelain cups around the lights(all pink and green with gold gilt) I have added a porcelain rose finial(bottom center)see last pic) which has pink and yellow roses with gold trim and is from an original capodimonte chandelier and works wonderful on this piece. The chandelier's wiring has been tested and is in good working condition. It appears to have been rewired. It measures 23"L ... morex 12" W. This petit piece is from the early 1900's and therefore is going to show some wear. Such as on the top of the porcelain body structure and the cups, as well as minor wear on some of the roses. Rare French Gilt Bronze and Rouge marble base Clock signed F. BARBEDIENNE on the bronze and F. BARBEDIENNE PARIS on the dial. 9.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide at the base. The French 8 Day platform escapement is signed J. E. DUPONT PARIS. Two hammers striking on a gong. One for the time and one for the alarm. The movement has not been tested or taken apart. Clock runs for 30 seconds than stops, probably just needs a cleaning. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines to the dial. The case is in great condition with no damage or repairs. Excellent detail to include the 4 fluted 3/4 columns. Four glass beveled sides surround the case. One of the side glass sides has some chips, but this piece could be replaced for cheap money. Barbedienne foundry was started in Paris in 1838 by Ferdinand Barbedienne and Achille Collas. Who was the inventor of a machine that would mechanically reduce statues. They at first produced bronze reductions of antique sculptures of Greek and Roman origin. Their first contract to produce bronzes modeled by a living artist was made in 1843 when they arranged to produce the works of Francois Rude. They barely survived the revolution and financial collapse of 1848 which caused many artists and foundries to declare bankruptcy. Here is a very fine miniature French clock in the rare form of a Louis XVI wall clock. It is remarkably original in all respects. Including the gilt finish and the miniature cylinder escapement platform. It is signed on the case back and on the movement by C. H. Hour. A well-known French maker of the late 19th and early 20th century. This clock is slightly over 7 inches high. The dial is only 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The heavy gilt bronze case is in excellent condition. As shown in the pictures. The back of the case is secured by nine screws.
