It has a satin finish. This decanter originally came with ornate silver mount/stand or coaster; might even have been part of a set of two or three as I can faintly see some marks from about 3" up from the bottom. It is not apparent unless you look very closely. The gold decoration is worn(consider the age) It has no chips or cracks! The bottom edge has what looks like a small XV cut into the glass. They are not chips. But definitely marked into the glass. I tried to picture it, but was not successful. Thank you for looking at this very rare find!
