12 Vintage Dresden porcelain plates c. 1900 - Pristine Condition only $55 each
This auction is for 12 original Dresden plates from Germany c.1900. Floral design. Gold leaf/paint and 6 pt crown mark. They are in pristine condition and have been both identified and appraised. One Dozen Dresden plates. 10 5/8" in diameter and standing 1" tall, these are substantial. I am moving and want to sell them. They are being listed below the 2011 estimated value. This is part of the professional appraisal I paid for: These are Dresden items for sure. They are typical of the transfer print designs of the turn of the century. The mark which is quite hard to read as it is written at production speed in copperplate handwriting says“JJK Dresden Hand makers” The reason for the ornate hand-styled black rose device is to cover up the original makers mark. You see. Almost without exception, Dresden studios did not actually make ... morethe porcelain, they bought in the white ware blanks from the nearby Meissen factory(or elsewhere) and sometimes used their own elaborate markings to cover up the original pottery mark. Sometimes, bigger Dresden decorating studios with more buying power could order minimum quantities which meant they could have their own marks put on by the originating factory. These marks would clearly be seen to be‘underglaze’ rather than‘overglaze’ like your mark. With more than 40 shops producing Dresden china(some sources say here were actually more like 200 units at the height– records were lost during the appalling bombing of World War 2) The Dresden name and crown differs slightly from one maker to the next. With a wide variety of Dresden china items and different marks. Typically a blue crown, but some Dresden crowns have 6 points(yours) some 5 points and 3 stars with an elaborate uppercase"D" and the word"Germany" underneath. Some have the blue crown with‘Dresden beneath’ Others have 3 points on the crown with an uppercase cursive"D" attached to the crown. These are just some of the better known marks, there are many others of which yours is an unusual exam

Vintage Dresden Lady on Couch with her Dog Figurine
A pretty Dresden lady figurine sitting on a sofa with a little dog at her side. She unfortunately has some glue on the hand where the fan is so I think maybe the fan may have come off at some time has been re-stuck. The skirt lace effect is in good shape however it could use a good cleaning as it has some discoloration due to age and I'll leave that to the buyer. So the only real problem is the glue. There are no chips, cracks or repairs that I can see. Please use the pictures as part of the desscription as I tried to show it in alot of different angles to see it all. A lovely collectible nevertheless. On the bottom it is marked with a blue crown and the letter M Z then the word dresden. She has a very pretty face and the dog looks very much like a pug or spaniel. Vintage Dresden Porcelain Candle Holders With Flowers– Martha Budich Backstamp: Authentic marking in the color BLUE. Swords crossing with an M and B at the handles of the sword. Hand painted words of Germany and Dresden listed underneath the swords. These markings were made in post war Dresden in the GDR(German Democratic Republic) within the communist block under Soviet rule. The markings were used between 1951– 1963. LG ANTIQUE GERMAN PORCELAIN FIGURINES MAN & WOMAN IN BLUE & WHITE W/DRESDEN LACE
These are two gorgeous mid to late 1800's figurines of a man and woman done in blue and white with Dresden lace. They are both 13" tall and I believe the mark on the bottom of the figures is from a German factory in the 1800s. They are wonderfully ornate. Both of the figurines are wearing hats and the man is holding an ax in one hand and the woman looks to be holding a small scythe in one of her hands. In their other hand they are holding flowers. The woman is carrying a large basket of flowers and an urn also filled with flowers is beside her. The man's arm is resting on a large pitcher which sits on a cut off tree which is also done in blue and white. The only other colors are their faces. Hair and arms as well as the ax blade which is done in silver. As is normal, some of the lace is missing but it is not noticable as the ... morelace was used very sparingly. Posted with

The figurine consist of two girls and two boys and decorated with Victorian dress in wonderful bright colours and all standing on a rococo base that has the embellishments of very fine porcelain floral applique. The base also has wonderful swags of gild design and shown the Blue back stamp of"M" Possibly Metzler and Orlof and with German Democratic Republic mark as shown. And the embossed rim. These beautiful plates are trimmed in gold around the rim in a double band, and then the embossed decoration on four sides of each rim has gold trim scrolls and a flourish of gold trim one each side of the embossed decoration. Lovely! These saucers are in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, or utinsel marks. A SUPERB and VERY RARE Dresden/Meissen biscuit barrell and cover. By Helena Wolfsohn, C.1880. Note the fine quality panel scenes, and at first, I thought this was Meissen C.1750. Then I saw the AR mark to the underside of base, and that was the mark for the Royal factory of the king at Meissen, but the style of the panels are slightly later, so must be Dresden and would have been hand painted by the greatest artist at the Dresden factory, Helena Wolfsohn. Both pieces PERFECT CONDITION, apart from some very minor chipping to those leaves on the lid, and some very minor rubbing to gilding. Large piece, so I do not think it a tea caddy. 9ins high by 4 1/2ins wide. I WILL ACCEPT PAYPAL due to demand. But ONLY BY ASKING FIRST.

The town of Plaue is located on the Havel river in the province of Thuringia-in what was formerly East Germany. Von Schierholz specialized in the production of large bowls. Candy-dishes, and table centerpieces, inspired by the forms and painted ... moredecorations of 18th century German Dresden hard-paste porcelains. The superb design and craftsmanship for which Von Schierholz is renowned are reflected in this magnificent Dresden Potpourri bowl-intended as a large centerpiece for a formal table setting. The general design is symmetrical(as viewed from both faces of the bowl) but the internal design motifs and shapes are assymmetrical"C" scrolls. With ample use of Rocaille shell-cartouches and gently undulating gilded scrollwork. The designer-sculptor has distilled the essence of the Rococo Style(also called"Rocaille" named after the encrusted natural forms of rocky grottoes) the flowing undulating lines, the swelling of the center(much like the commode in 18th century Rococo furniture) the pastel green sea-shell inspired cartouches-all design elements which make this Potpourri bowl seem like a living, organic form. Please look at this Pair of Dresden Lady figures in 17th Century dress. One figure measures approximately 4.25" 11cm) high and the other 4.75" 12cm) high. The Lady with the pink skirt has suffered a considerable loss of lace to her dress(please see photographs) however the Lady with the lemon skirt is in very good condition with minimal loss of lace. Cup measures about 3 3/4" wide not including handles and about 2 1/8" tall. Saucer measures about 5 5/8" by 4 3/4" Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some mild rubbing to gold on interior of saucer. Outside edges on cup and saucer show no wear to gold. Handles to cup show just a slight trace of rubbing. All in all. A great set.
