The city of Dresden. Dresden is the capital of the German state of Saxony on the Elbe River. The bowl is engraved with"Dresden" which is outlined in an embossed woven design and the bowl appears to be slightly gold washed. The top of the spoon's handle is enameled with a depiction of a standing horse and three black stripes(the city crest) and the edge has silver cut out lace pattern. The enamel is in very good condition with no damage issues. The back of the spoon is marked"Depose 800" and additional maker's marks(a crown mark and one I cannot identify) The top of the reverse is engraved with a pretty"G" Spoon is in fine condition with no dents or dings; the bowl has several dark spots. As indicated in the photos. The back of the bowl has tarnish. It measures 5 inches long; it weighs approx. 17 grams. The sort that you are rarely lucky enough to come across. The base and lid are lined in a simple but appealing ribbed design. The box rests on four well detailed paw feet. The lid has an antique textured symmetrical design on top. This box was likely used as a lady's toilette, or cosmetics container. As you can see in the photos we have added a picture of our reference for the maker. The source is a very reliable collection of books on German silver and gold. Der Goldschmiede Merkzeichen. The maker's mark does not match perfectly with the one found on this box, but we still strongly believe that it is accurate. Major makers of silver would go through multiple punches in a lifetime, as they were worn down from constant use. This maker could have gone through 5-10 punches but we only have images of two. The form of the mark is very similar. This item is definitely from Dresden as was this maker, and we have record of few makers from this time period in Dresden, with these initials showing up only once. Please note that the numbers to the left of the maker's mark are not a reference to the years they were in business. The final photo showed is of a collection of German items from 1712-1715. You can clearly see the similarities between the box pointed out and the one we are selling. The final photo is from Helmut Seling Die Kunst der Augsburger Goldschmiede 1529-1868. The maker Johann Michael Winckelmann became a master in 1690 and is mentioned through 1724, which fits in perfectly with the age. We are certain of the authenticity of this piece, as well as it's age. The box is marked with crossed swords beneath a crown for the city Dresden. What appears to be a K, and the maker's mark IMW for Johann Michael Winckelmann. There is also an assay mark. This box is.812 purit

This is a beautiful Elfinware box with a gold tone bottom Box measures 3 3/4" by 2 3/4" by 1 3/4" deep with a top of delicate porcelain flowers. The box has imprinted Made in Italy but believe the porcelain work is German because it does not look like the the typical Italian floral material. The porcelain is very fine. She is seated on a bench next to a bouquet of flowers and he is leaning on the bench and holding a book. They look as if they are lost in conversation as she stares up at him. Approximately 9 1/2 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches wide. Stamped on bottom of base with the mark for Dressel Kister. The numbers 4791 are also inscribed in the porcelain. In good antique condition. There is a repair to the lady's raised foot and it moves a little but isn't noticeable and there are chips to the flowers. Could use a good cleaning. Includes massive 13" x 18" platter(1 side edge chip) 8 3/4" x 12 1/8" platter(2 edge chips) 8 1/8" x 11 3/8" platter(1 underside edge chip and a few dark age lines) 3 total platters of very old mid 19th century English dinnerware in the very desirable Dresden Blue Onion pattern. The company was founded by Sampson Hancock. A prominent Wesleyan, in 1857 and was renamed S. Hancock& Sons(Potters) Ltd. in 1935. It closed in 1937, having been put into receivership on 23rd March. It was a relatively small enterprise, employing around 150 people. Sampson Hancock died on 9th May 1900 and was succeeded in the business by his sons, Jabez, Harry and Arthur. The ... morecompany produced tablewares and fancies for the popular market- its main income being from semi-porcelain and earthenware tablewares. Toilet wares, vases and vitreous hotel wares. Many of the products, including ironstone china, were for export markets. After WW1 the company increased its production of ornamental and decorative wares. These included children's wares and doll's heads. Boxed teasets for children were being produced by 1917 featuring popular nursery rhymes and pictures of children. Two designers of this type of ware were Molly Hancock and Edith Gater(see Designers below) The company also produced a range of crested wares. These being marked with the trade name The' Duchess' China or The'Corona' China and Grosvenor Ware. These may have been produced in quantity to see the company through the war years when skilled labour was unavailable. Pieces included animals. Small decorative dishes and Great War commemoratives, or had English or Welsh crests. Crested ware appears to have been made until the 1920s. It is an 8 day clock with both hour and half hour chime. The back states Cathedral Bell Strike and the works are marked Ansonia June 1882. The face is not marked and it does have a crack but the glass cover is fine. There is crackling on the porcelain. As shown, but no chips or cracks that I noticed in the lovely handpainted flower covered body. There is also some residue on the back from tape that will require cleaning off. It was made expressly for the American Wringer Co. of New York. It measures about 14" wide, 11" tall and 4 1/2" ... moredeep with a wooden base. This clock worked and chimed well when I was taking photos but cannot guarentee that it will continue. There is no key with this piece but there is an 1 1/2" diameter pendulum. Really finely sculpted by a mastercul sculptor and artist. The incredible expressions on their faces. The body language in the poses all show a high level of creative thought. The piece is bisque. Hand painted and large. Stands 8" tall and 8" wide approximately. Condition: Tiny flake from red ribbon on girl. One handle missing on flower basket. In between the figures there is a branch sticking out from between the two of them. It appears as if a part of that branch may have flaked off but it is very hard to see. Please see close up photos. This is a great Old Meissen Ballet dancer Figurine. It is marked Germany and has crossed swords in a blue underglaze. The dress is a beautiful Dresden Lace. She is in great shape except for her 4 fingers on the top hand are chipped. And there is some damage to the front of her dress. It really isn't too noticeable. This is a beautiful figurine. About 6.25 inches to the top of her hand.

DESCRIPTION: Very detailed and beautifully moulded and handpainted vase with a two-tailed mermaid and merman at the base. Above the mermaid is a reserve depicting a courting scene beautifully handpainted in the Wattau manner. The back reserve above the merman is a bouquet of handpainted flowers. The vase is flanked by two dolphins. The rocaille base is very ornate with flowers and scrolls. The high glaze is beautiful and so are the gilded details throughout the entire vase. This very rare vase depicts two very unusual forms. A mermaid and, even rarer, a merman. This is the first I've seen in more than thirty years of collecting fine porcelain. The vase was drilled(see picture 11) It is a heavy for its size. Displays magnificently. There are no markings on this piece. I have for you this evening a rare and beautiful find created by Meissen in the mid to late nineteenth century in Germany. This gorgeous piece features Meissens famous grape and leaf mold design and is made of some of the very finest porcelain ever made. This stunning piece is decorated with hand painted Dresden style flowers and is very heavily gilded throughout with the heaviest gilding reserved for the incredible detail on each leaf from the matte finish leaf to the high gloss veins showing the hand of the master gilders skills on this piece. The piece is of course"first quality" and will make a fantasic addition to your Meissen collection or indeed to any collection of the worlds finest porcelains. Great in a cabinet or in your favorite table setting. Do not miss out on this incredible flawless and very near mint condition piece ... moreof Meissen. There is very minor gilt loss to the viens of the gold gilt leaves in the center but thats it. This is one of the most prestine and cleanest pieces I have ever handled This has obviously always held pride of place and has always been a cabinet piece or untouchable table piece. 2 EXQUISITE ANTIQUE DONATH & CO. DRESDEN CABINET PLATES ~ MULTI-FLORAL SPRAYS
Being offered is an Exquisite Pair of Antique Donath& Co. Dresden 9 3/4" Hand-Painted Cabinet Plates. This particular mark seen in picture(12) was used between(1893-1916) The plates are scalloped and the décor features vibrant multi-floral sprays embellished with gold swags. Each is in GOOD CONDITION with no chips. Cracks or crazing showing no scratches, utensil wear or loss of gold only a few tiny rub marks from stacking. There is a small chip on one and a small chip on the other as well as a small bruise on the underside(inner verge) see pictures 5,9,10.

Antique German Silver Box C. Wilcken Dresden c.1850 Melon Shape
Here up for bid is a beautiful 937 silver melon shaped box that is made in Dresden Germany by C. Wilcken circa 1850. The box is 6 1/4" long and 5 1/4" wide and 6" high. It weighs 10.93 troy oz. It has 4 feet and has a gold wash on the inside. The is no monogram. Very nicely hinged and the lid fits tight. There are some small dings on the box and feet. Otherwise in great condition. The Dresden mark has a 15 in the middle above the cross swords. The 15 is in the loth silver purity system that was used before 1886. And stands for 937 purity silver. Shipping in the US is free. Antique Beautiful Dresden Urn with Mark
This is a beautiful(very old) antique Dresden piece. The handles have cherbs. The main section has delicate flowers and gold decorations. The top also has delicate flowers and gold decoration. There are three small breaks: 1) one in a leave on base and 2) two on the flowers. See photographs. This piece stands 12 1/2" tall and the base 4 1/4" wide. This piece is marked on the bottom with the Crown and a large"N" below it. This piece would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photographs and ask questions.

It has 2 porcelain angels on top sharing a green garland. It has its own stand and rests on 2 balled feet with a hanger on the back for wall hanging. The frame is beautiful with a little pink bow at the bottom. Several porcelain roses and leaves, an colorful inner border. One angel has pink robe and the other has blue. The details of the faces is exquisite. There are the usual chips to the roses, a small crack on one foot, a pindot to one foot and a pindot to one wing. There is fading of the gold accents. Extremely Well Decorated 15" x 12" Reticulated Dresden Porcelain Urn with Colorful Hand Painted Relief. Many Flowers and two figures of a man and woman made by Sitzendorf. This piece appears to be completely hand painted. The gentleman does have a broken arm. This is an old break on the arm and we do not have the piece to replace it. Both the Lady and Gentleman are about 6-7" tall. As you can see from the next to last photo. The top portion has been adhered to the base. Normally these are bolted to the base. I bought this large jardiniere with base at an estate auction. There is a sticker on the underfoot that bears the Dresden mark as well as Karl Richard Klemm's mark. It seems that the urn is attached to the base by glue. The gilded handles on the pot feature feature putti amid grapevines and clusters. Supported by three classical female beauties. Draped in gilded robes. The females are amid applied polychrome flowers. The gilded handed do have some dullness due to handling. The reticulated rocaille base has floral reserves. This jardiniere weighs over 25 lbs. Striesen. Germany is where Karl Klemm's factory was founded in 1869. My apologies to those that were watching and bidding on this figurine previously. I found a flaw and had to end the auction and relist. This auction is for a vintage porcelain figurine of a lady& gentleman. Measures just shy of 13" tall by 9.5" long by about 5" deep. Marked as shown with an"AA" and a stylized sun. Not sure who the maker is. But judging by the quality, it is likely German. There is a ton of detail on this one. Lots of ruffles, ribbons, flowers, and bows. There is one flaw. If you look at her left arm, there is a bt of ribbon draping over it. I was informed that there is supposed to be a ribbon hanging over her arm and down the front of her dress. This also explains the area on the front of her dress that appears wasn't colored during the glazing process. The bit of ribbon over her arm blends ... morein with her arm and initially I thought she was wearing a glove. You do not see the broken edges unless you flip it upside down. The missing ribbon doesn't seriously detract from the piece. I think it is still quite lovely and I am relisting it as is. I do not see any other cracks chips or repairs. This is a rare and very beautiful antique Art Nouveau tile. Made by the well known German factory Villeroy and Boch in Dresden. Showing a flower design. The tile is original and dates from circa 1900. It measures approximately 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inch or 14.5 x 14.5 cm. The tile is in good con dition. Considering its age.
