VIETNAM, École des Beaux-Arts de Hanoï, circa 1940" On 9-30-01 a Christies auction Lot 324 called a similar one'Head of a Laotian woman' Others have cited it as a 1920'S Gia Loi'Asian Lady' I read that Nguyen Thanh Le was a Vietnamese artisan who sold to military personnel from a shop on Thu Do Street in the former Saigon, now Ho Chi Minh City. I like this story best and believe that his bronzes found their way to the USA via military personnel who served there during the war years. And to France during theirs!
