Pleased to offer this beautiful 1800s vintage German Black Forest Cuckoo Clock by the Sokol Montag Co. This clock has wear commensurate with age. But not abuse. Evidence of earlier repairs to the outer trim and the left side of the roof, could use more attention. Celluloid hands and numerals, cuckoo bird with hinged wings, side access hatches that turn 1/4 and pull out, back board missing, but this doesn't have a gong so that's an easy fix. The cuckoo bellows are good. Runs but needs oiled. 30 hour movement. Appears to have been all hand made, from the outer decorations to the movement frames. Cool clock. 17" tall, 13" wide. Great looking colorful hunter style musical cuckoo clock. Clock movement has been cleaned and oiled. And New bellow tops installed. Clock strikes on the half hour with cuckoo call and gong strike, and on the full hour with cuckoo and strike for the appropriate hours, followed by Lily Marlin playing. Clock case is in great shape with only a few light scuffs. Midframe carving and crown are in great shape with a few nicks and and scuffs with very colorful paint. Pendulum is missing a leaf tip, but does not affect the running of the clock. 3 matching 275 gram weights drive the time, strike, and music on this clock. Clock measures 16 inches from the base of the pouch to the top of antlers, 9.5 inches wide at the crown, 8 inches from the wall to the tip of the deer nose. Antique German Dutch Black Forest Wag on the Wall Shield Clock Wood Work 18"
I'm not sure how to date this for sure but it is at least mid 1800s and may be early 1800s. A really large piece and you don't see many survive this big. The face is 18 inches tall and 12 3/4" wide and has some cracks from age. The pendulum measures 34" in length and the round bottom is 2 1/2" across. The adjustment nut is missing. When you rotate the large hand and it gets to the hour it does ding correctly and the hour hand moves in line with rotating the large had as well. When I swing the pendulum it will tick tock for a few strokes and you can see the gears are moving as appropriate. I'm sure it will need to be cleaned. Adjusted and maybe the wooden box straightened since it appears to be part of the mechanism. A great piece! Thanks for looking!

Silvered dial on brass surround and cast brass gilt adornments This high quality solid plate movement has been ultrasonically cleaned. Nice Older Carved Black Forest Look Flower Box Plant Candle Stand F/Scotland
This auction is for a classic European Flower Box- Basket from Scotland. These are very hard to come by and I very seldom ever see one at an auction or sale. I have seen three(3) in 11 years in real life. The other two I saw were so high in cost. I won't even mention the price, you wouldn't believe it anyways. They seldom ever get exported from Europe or Great britian. This one has lots of carving on both the flower box and the base. The base is carved to look like a tree with limbs. It has a real Black Forest look to it. I am not sure what type of wood it's made out of, I think it's Popular or maybe Pine, but I really am not sure. I am not sure of the country of origin, but it ended up in Scotland years ago. The box portion is heavily carved with lots of wonderful detailed work. One of the points of one of the leaves has ... morebeen broken off. It has a couple of splits in the wood that have been filled and touched up. These are so unusual and a vast majority of people do not know what they are. These also make very nice fern stands or plant stands. This one shown, has a pretty"candle& floral" arragement in it. It would add interest and ellegance to any room you set it in. The top portion or basket screws off the base. It is 17 1/4" X 17 1/4" and it's 35 1/4" tall. The basket is about 4 7/8" deep. It's overall condition is good. The finish is good but not mint or excellent by any means. It has scratches. Dings and blemishes to the finish(light/dark spots) to the box- basket& legs. Antique Vintage Folk Art Black Forest Carved Wood Old Man Woman Bookends Statue
Estate found.wonderful pair of early Black Forest carved bookends featuring an old man and woman. I love the expressions on their faces which are finely detailed. In very good condition with a lovely patina. There is a small toothpick sized hole at the corner of the mans mouth as if something may have been held there at one time? This is very hard to see as both sides of the mouth match perfectly and the small round hole blends in with the carved wrinkles around the mouth. Each measures approx. 8 1/4" tall x 4" x 4.5" A very charming example of old European folk art.

Beautiful large antique hand carved Black Forest center piece. The work shows two deer. Male and female, sitting and standing next to a tree. The patina is wonderful, and the carving is of exceptional quality. Height is approximately 14 inches, width is 7 1/2 inches at widest point. There are some minor losses on the tree that need to re carved, as well as antlers on the deer need some work. I have seen these sculptures in antique shops for many thousands. Antique BLACK FOREST CUCKOO CLOCK Large Hunter Case 41" It's the big size!
The pictures are deceiving regarding the size of this clock. This is the large 41" bottom to top of atlers) Hunter Theme" case. Measures 26" wide. It dates to about 1910-20. It is the 2 weight brass harp movement. The movement is not marked but is original to the clock. The movement has been serviced and the cuckoo bellows rebuilt. The clock keeps excellent time and cuckoos loud 1/2 hr. and hour! The hour strike is a coiled spring on mounted on the backboard. I purchased this clock from the original family who have owned it for a longtime. I have had this clock hanging in my workshop at about 6' high on the wall and pull the weights up everyday. The clock retains the original finish and is in excellent condition. One little piece of branch missing(pictured.I point to it) and a repair which is hard to see in the top cluster ... moreof branches and leaves.it was a clean break and clean glue joint. The deer head is large with the original atlers(perfect) The animals depicted have glass eyes. A hard to find large black forest cuckoo clock. German Cuckoo Clock Swiss Cuendet Movement - Dr Zhivago Black Forest Regula
Up for auction is this beautiful Cuckoo clock made in Germany. I have tested the clock and all of the parts are in working order except for the pendulum which will stop ticking after a minute or so. It may be because the clock needs to be oiled or it may be I didn't have the clock leveled well enough. Whatever the cause. I am unable to get the pendulum to tick continuously. When I move the minute had manually all of the functions operate perfectly. The bell chimes and the bird comes out of it's door and the dancers spin to the music. The three weights also lower and raise properly. The clock is in good used condition visually. There are some worn spots on the surface of the wood as can be seen in the pictures but there is no major breakage or damage. DETAILS 10.5" high x 9.5" wide x 7" deep. The paddle wheel, the old lady with rolling pin, beer drinkers and dancers. The clock measure 17” wide. 14-1/2” high, and 10” deep. The clock is running and keeps good time. On the half hour and hour the cuckoo bird sings and the old lady pokes the beer drinker in the arm with her rolling pin. The hour is also counted on a coil gong. After that the music box starts to play and a small wooden drum beats in time with the music. The paddle wheel spins. The dancers spin as they rotate around the top, and the beer drinkers raise their mugs. The clock features great detail from the carving of the figures to the texture of the roof. HUGE 19th c BLACK FOREST carved EAGLE COAT & HAT RACK c 1890
This large and impressive Black Forest carved hat and coat rack dates from the end of the 19th century and was discovered in the same home as the Black Forest clock bracket of similar date. Which is listed seperately. Both feature beautifully carved eagles with glass eyes. This rack is large at 30" wide. The eagle's wingspan is 18" and the wings support a shelf measuring 14"x 9" ideal for your top hat! The rack is well carved and remains as useful today as when made. No damage or restoration and remaining in good condition. Despite it's considerable age. Testimony to the fact that it has clearly been cherished by it's previous owner. Not the usual small carving found in this section but something big and bold. Sure to make a great conversation piece in your home or maybe for customers to your business. Victorian walnut black forest style carved wall shelf in very good antique condition with a few blemishes. The shelf depicts two highly carved birds in their natural setting.
