AUTHENTIC GERMAN BEER STEIN LINDENWIRTIN BLACK FOREST MAN WOMAN HAND CARVED OLD Up for your consideration is this really nice vintage authentic Lindenwirtin- Black Forest- Man and Woman hand carved German beer stein. It did have a fancy lead lid but the solder joint came loose and that came off and all that is left is the thumb(half) and the hinge which is still securely on the handle. So with the right lid this could be restored to original fairly easilly. FEATURES:Highly glazed ceramic featuring a gentleman sitting at a table outside by the trees with large flowers vining through. With a castle in the background, being served beer by a woman. The man is wearing a green old time German green shirt with a money pouch attached at the waist, and the woman is wearing the traditional peasant blouse/skirt with apron and red hat. Looks like a scene ... morethat comes right from the Black Forest. The German writing is"Keinen Tropfen ira Becher mehn" on one side, in the middle located on the table, it says"Lindenwirtin" and on the other side it says"Und der Beute schlaff und leer" INCLUDED: The actual German"Lindenwirtin" Black Forest Man and Woman beer stein pictured. This is an old clock. I was told its not antique form a fellow on ebay, but he wasnt certain of the time period exactly. The clock was on a wall since I was a kid( im in my 30's) It is German Black Forest made GK(Gebruder Kuner) Quail Hunter Cuckoo Clockwith a Beautiful Bird and squirrel. There are also antlers and other carved designs. This comes from my grandmothers house so I dont know exactly what it is. Its an 8 day clock and it has worked for as long as I can remember. It has been sitting in storage for about a year and hasnt run since than. We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with an equally impressive collection of music boxes. Coffee grinders, and other very nice antique and vintage collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items! This is an outstanding find of a very rare. Handcarved, working, very large 8 day cuckoo clock that was created about 75 years ago in the Black Forest of"Germany" and signed on the movement by"Emil Schmeckenbecher, one of the finest clockmakers in history! The clock is simply astonishing and features some of the finest carvings I've ever seen on a clock this size. It looks like some of the carvings were done by master carver, Oli Zinapold though I don't know that for sure. This clock is made of cured and aged Linden wood that is grown nearly exclusively at certain altitudes of ... morethe Black Forest. The case is quite large and adorned with seven, large, hand carved wooden grape leaves on the front that are exceptional, deep, intricate, and wavy. Another carved wooden grape leaf is found on the wooden pendulum. There is a large. Carved wooden bird on either side of the lower case looking back at each other from across the dial. There is a much larger, equally ornate wooden bird on the very top of the clock looking as though he's ready to take flight. The detail is extraordinary and the finish work is very nice too! The wooden dial has a black backdrop and features raised soft almond Roman numerals to mark the hours and fancy matching hands to point out the time. There is an access door or cover on the right side of the case that can be removed to allow access for any adjustments that may be needed for the cuckoo mechanisms. The clock has a fitted wood back marked Germany that is secured with a metal latch. The door easily removes to allow access to the weight driven. Early mechanical"Regula" movement inside the case signed by Schmeckenbecher. A weight driven movement simply means that the chains need to be pulled every 8 days or so to wind the

It is a one day movement The dimensions of the clock case are 1 8" length x 13 width x 5-3/4" depth. We have had the bellows replaced. All other parts are original to the clock This clock is called a Railroad or Station House style which has the various colors of wood inlay. Before I owned the clock someone had added some unusual charms to the end of the chains, I s aw them as unique& left them on the clock while it l ived with me. You can see some light above the top decoration. It was damaged at one time& repaired but there are still some dings that are shown in the pictures. Nobody survives this long w/o a few dings. Huh? For auction is a Vintage Linden Black Forest Brass and Glass Alarm Clock. It was made in West Germany. It is in good and working condition. But this alarm has some wear. I found this in a little shop in Salzburg, Austria. This carving is of a wandering hobo with his suitcase. He finds a keg of beer. And proceeds to lift the barrel top off. By pressing down on the man's coattails, it raises the top of the barrel. When the top is raised, a Reuge ... moremusic movement plays a song. When the top is lowered. The music stops. The music movement is hidden inside the old suitcase. The winding key is located on the side of the suitcase. This piece would date 1930's. This is a wonderful and beautiful wood carving from Germany. It is a classic German bird Hunter. He has a small double shotgun in his right hand and a loose staff in his left hand. He has a rather large size bird strapped to his back with the wings of the bird spread out nicely. This is a rare find and definitely hard to get a hold of. It's in excelent condition. It measures 33" High.17" Wide.13" Deep. It weighs 20 lbs. It is made of solid. And beautifully colored, wood. This is a special piece of wood carving and would enhance any collector's gallery. ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST CARVED SWALLOWS WOOD HOLDER PAIR - Pocket Watch Holders ?
Up for Auction is a Pair of Antique early Black Forest Carved Swallow Holders which are possibly Pocket Watch Holders- not sure as they are unusual and were certainly made to hold something on their hooks.They are early dating to the early 1900's.Each piece measures approx. 6 inches in height. The round center measures approx 3 1/4 inches across to the outer edge and the inside of the round center although carved with lines and flat- scoops out on its edge towards the bottom making the round bottom edge wider than the remaining edging- that along with the original'hook' placed at the top of each piece tells me, it was meant to hold something, something round- such as a pocket watch.you decide- but if anyone has any info- I would love to hear about it. Both pieces are hand made and carved out of wood and nearly identical.The detailing ... moreon the carving is very well done.Each swallow retains its original glass bead eye. They are painted a very dark blue/almost black color with areas that are nicely highlighted, including a small touch of red under their beak and a touch of red at the top/front part of their head. They are both nicely done. The round wood piece they are each attached to and which also contains a hook towards the top are both ornately carved- both inside as well as the outer edging is done in a nice detailed'hatching' effect(see pictures with and without flash)Each piece also retains its original hook on the back in which to hang. Condition: Both very early hand-carved pieces- nicely done. Nice patina- no damage, no cracks, and no repairs.they are in very nice good vintage condition.
