This is a quite stunning carved gothic heraldic wooden walnut lamp stand with the decorative carvings to the base of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the gothic period of the early 19th century and is of black forest origin. Dates about c1820. A wonderful carved solid base with the four heraldic carvings of: the castles and fleur-de-lys. A stepped carved square base in the walnut with the central decorative stem. Base and carvings are carved in relief. Base has an overall size of about 8 x 7.75inches. Height of about 6inches. Max overall height including the central stem of about 22inches. Not sure of age or country of manufacture of this piece. But it appears to be a bit old. Has nice carved leaf and flower motif, and does not look perfect, so im fairly sure its not machined. Cannot see this holding any fresh flowers or liquids considering its wood. Has a few nicks and scuffs around, but nothing major. Measures 9 7/8th inches tall 3 3/4 inches wide at the rim. This bear was commissioned by the brothers Rudolf& Christian Ettinger founded the“Wagnerei& Skifabrik zur Mühle” cart making& ski factory to the mill) in Davos-Glaris. Rudolf opened a sport article shop and moved the business to Davos Platz in 1906 where he also made all kind of carts and sledges. As well as the famous“Davos” sledge. During World War I. They sold yearly over 10’000 pairs of skis to the army. At one time there was a Paper label which was on the front of this carving which stated"Wagnerei& Skifabrik zur Mühle" but the glue dry rotted and came off lost threw the years. Up for bid is one antique. Victorian eastlake, black forest style carved walnut curio/picture shelf. Folding shelf measures 13" by 8-1/2. Projection measures approx. 5. Actual shelf meaures 8-1/2" wide by 4-5/8" deep. Ornate. Leaf style detail, scalloped edge shelf that is held in place by two brass wash pin hinges and can fold flat against body. Has swing arm underneath for added support. Unmarked with the exception of the number 602 on back. Condition is very good. This listing is for a wonderful Haufbrau Beer Barrel Horse Drawn Wagon with 4-Horses! This is a Large Wooden Carving measuring about 25" Long and 9" tall at its tallest points. The Horses are carved with detail and the driver has a whip. And Cigar! He Swivels up there on his seat. There are 11 Barrels! His side brake is there too! There are a couple of spots where the chains should be repaired! It shows in the photos where 1-beer barrel needs to be reattached. Near the 2-rear horses. The harness Chains need to be re-attached. For the most part The chains are still there. One of the rear wooden pieces to attach the chains is missing. I will let the buyer make these minor repairs. It is also a bit dusty. This is a superb carved wooden oak pediment with the decorative central carving of the head of a female with leaf carvings of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century and is of black forest origin. A rectangular carved pediment. Carved in relief. Therefore a one piece carved pediment. Wonderful central carving with the head of the female within the circles. Other carvings of leaves to either side. It has an overall size of about 40 x 6.5inches. Max depth of about 0.75inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is excellent and is without any major blemish. All as per pictures. This wonderful vintage little Black Forest woodcarving of a“grizzly” little old hag is typical of the post-World War II German Black Forest wares that were a favored souvenir of American travelers in during the 1960s and 70s. This Old Woman puts me in mind of the scary witch character of the fairy tale. Hansel& Gretel. She has the weathered features of a long life. But a smile that hints of humor or is sinister. The carving is in good vintage condition and measures approximately 4 ½” high, 2” across her shoulders, and has a base that measures 1 ½” by 2” Please keep in mind this is not a new item. This is a wonderful antique book slide. The carving is exceptional and will be loved by its new owner. Both Owls have their original. Beautiful glass eyes as seen in the pictures. This book slide is 5" by 13 1/2" in size when closed. It expands to a length of 17" but can be shorter lengths if the full length is not needed. This is definitely from the late Victorian period and has been part of my families library for a very long time. We also have an Owl pencil holder that is hand carved from a single piece of wood. This auction is for a vintage manger. It came with the 5" ANRI set I have listed. It would probably work for a 5" or 6" set. It is carved wood and looks more black forest to me than ANRI. But I'm not sure. It measures 19.5" tall to the top of the tree by 16" wide by 9" deep. The manger original came with one tree. The tall tree to the left has a dowel on the bottom that fits into a hole on the base. The other three matching trees may have been designed to stand on the table behind the manger, but the past owner used florist's gum to stick them to the base in front of the manger. Depending on how you want to display it, you may need to clean it off. The gum may leave some residue on the wood. This set was purchased from the estate of a catholic priest. This is a quite superb carved wooden oak stand with the dog and leaves of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the period of the early 19th century and is of black forest origin. Dates about c1820. In an oak. Wonderful overall relief carvings with the dog to the top with the leaves behind. To the rear. A tree with roots. Has a central hole to the top which would have had a glass epergne inserted. Mounted onto the oval decorative carved base. It h as an overall height of about 6.25nches. Max base size of about 4.25 x 3.25inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is very good and is subject to chipping to the base as the only major blemish. A great Black Forest set of carved bear bookends. Late 40's vintage- brought over to Canada by a Swiss family who immigrated here. About 1950. The 4 inch bears are on a 2 1/2 x 3 5/8 x 3/4 inch base.
