Antique Postman’s Clock – Wood Plate German Wall Clock – Parts or Repair
Up for auction is rare postman’s wood plate wall clock exported from the Black Forest region of Germany. The clock is 80% complete as it sits right now. The glass over the dial is in very good condition as is the dial under is. The center brass alarm insert is present and functions. The wood is in very good condition. I hung the clock up on the wall and added in the correct weight and a pendulum I had here at the shop. It will run for a couple of minutes but it is underpowered due to a worn bushing in the time train. It will run without a pendulum on it. The side panels. Chains, pendulum, and weights are not present. Being sold AS is for parts or repair. The clock face measures 11” in diameter and the clock is 8” in depth. The Disclaimer– This is an antique clock; the case is not new and does show signs of wear that would be expected of a ... moretime piece of this age(dings. Rare Antique Marquetry Wall Clock Ansonia Works C-1870 Mirrored Runs & Strikes
Rare Antique Marquetry Wall Clock. Ansonia Works circa 1860, Mirrored, Runs& Strikes, 8 day movement. These cases are often described as Anglo American and often attributed to the English, though I have read that this style originated in the U.S.A. This is a truly rare find for the discerning collector. The clocks overall condition is quite good for its age. The dial is flaking off. But is original, though someone has done a poor touch up that is also flaking. These can be professional repainted to match the original state of the dial if that is important to you. The metal dials made in the 1840-1860's do typically have the paint flaking by now. A clock with this happening is most always 1860's or older, though I have not been able to put an exact date on this clock. The Marquetry(what the French call inlay work) is in very nice ... morecondition. There is a little flaking of veneer on the bottom section at a seam on the right front. The 4 scroll finials are not broken, as is often the case. The crown is unique and in good condition. There is a crack in the back board. The case is sound structurally. The hands and bob also seem to be original to the clock, as does the wavy glass in the mirror. The door glass maybe replacement, as with the fabric in the door. All of this style clock that I have seen have the fabric and mirror in common with this one. I have not seen another with the inlayed double scroll section and anything like this magnificent crown. The clock has been in my living room since I finished restoring it. It is in very good condition for its age. But there are minor flaws that one would expect to find with a clock of this age. None of them take away from its beauty. There is a repair to the dial between the seven and eight. I tried to get a good photo, but it didn't show up very well. This clock measures 38" X 16 1/2" X 6" The question will come up about finials. There are none. There are no holes. Top or bottom where there would have been finials. The clock is an eight day time and strike. It runs. Sounds the hours and half-hour on a coil gong. Antique French 19th Century 8 Day Time and Strike Wall Clock Weather Station
Very large 41" tall by 14.5" wide. Walnut case clock with gallery crest rail and finials. Wood face clock with applied Roman numerals in black onto white enamel porcelain metal cartuches. This wall clock also has a French mercury thermometer along with a lower aneroid barometer dial. The clock has an 8 day wind up French square movement along with a brass pendulum. It is in very good condition for it's age. The clock does run and chime; however. The clock works need to be cleaned and oil to insure continued good working order. I can remove movement and clean prior to shipment, but winning bidder must contact me for additional charges to accomplish this additional servicing. This antique French Wall Clock was made in the early 19th century. And case is combined with a barometer and thermometer. Clock has an 8 day movement in ... moreworking condition with a coiled gong strike which strikes on the hour. I believe the clock is all original. Clock measures 41"x14.5"x6" with an 6" dial, with enameled cartouche Roman numerals. Case is in very good condition for its age. With no noticeable dings or scratches. I believe the wood is walnut and has its original finish and finials. Movement is in working condition. However, it has been in storage for several years and I recommend a cleaning and service just to be thorough. Barometer will need to be calibrated for your area so it will be accurate and the thermometer may not be functioning although it is intact with no broken parts. Comes with an old key. But I do not know if it is original to the clock. The clock is sold in AS IS condition and I have done my best to describe its condition but feel free to ask questions. This Antique GUSTAV BECKER HARFEN GONG Clock case measures approx 30 inches from tall. Width of 11 and 3/4 inches, and depth of 5 and 3/4 inches. The movement may not be the original. I have provided a photo of the back of the movement which appears to have a trademark associated with the Hamburg American Clock Company, the 102/28 385 serial number doesn't match Gustav Becker or Hamburg American serial numbers. The clock face is not paper but metal like tin or aluminum with 3D gold colored Roman Numerals, The hexagonal glass panel at the bottom of the access door is beveled, there is gold colored metal scrollwork decorating the corners of the glass panel through which you see the clock face. The entire clock assembly except for the chimes is mounted on a block of wood that slides in from the front and is secured by two screws underneath. ... moreThis clock chimes twice times the hour on the hour, and twice on the half hour.Behind the movement at the top is a metal piece with Harfen Gong GB in raised letters with four chime rods. Antique Wall Regulator Clock. 8 day, strikes the time on the hour and strikes once each half hour. Clock is approximately 29.5 inches high, 13 inches wide and 7.5 inches deep. The glass panels below the clock face are all beveled glass. The glass over the clock face is not beveled and is a 7 inch diameter. There is an inspection window on each side of the case. The movement has stamped on it"46 cm" On the upper left side of the clock there is an area, about 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch, where the veneer is missing. The clock is in excellent working condition. Antique Waterbury Clock Company Wall Clock, Regulator, Thirty Day Second Hand
Up for Auction is a Great Early Waterbury Clock Company Wall Regulator Clock. I am not sure of the model but it Measures 31 inches tall and the dial is 12 inches wide. It has the original instructions on the reverse along with some old service dates from the past. Original old finish. It running and has a good clear tic tock and hand movement. Pendulum and a india key are with it. I do not plan to remove the dial to picture the movement but if you have questions please ask. Antique G. B Owens ? Fancy Inlaid Walnut Scroll Bottom Wall Clock Running.
This is a Very Unusual and Fancy Inlaid I believe Walnut Scroll Bottom Wall Clock! I'm not 100%sure but was told by an older Clock collector that it could possibly be a G. B Owens movement. The reason is the count wheel is connected to the main gear I guess this was one of the things G. B Owens did. It clearly looks like an American movement but I could be off base. The Inlaid Scroll Bottom case looks like the fancy ones made for the Anglo American Clock Co. for the English market. there is a B on the movement it could possibly be an American movement stamped for another market because it also has geneva stops but truthfully it is an anomaly? I'm guessing it was made from 1870 to 1880 but that is a guess. The case is beautiful it is a well used clock and it does show signs of it's age. The dial is the original painted dial but ... morewas touched up and not great but still it looks okay. It is not perfect but it is in fair condition for the age. The top of the clock has 3 pins so you can remove the top! one pin is missing but I have one that was for another clock I'll send that also. The clock runs and chimes I have not checked to see how accurate it is I don't have room to hang it! I did let it run for 2 hours and t seems fine. I believe t has the original pendulum and glass but the key is not original.The clock is around 31 1/2" tall 16 1/2" wide 4 5/8" deep and it weighs 8.11.5 pounds. This is a Stunning Waterbury Long Drop Schoolhouse Calendar Regulator Wall Clock. This clock has a fabulous painted original dial it has a few areas of finish loss but over all it is fantastic. This is a running clock it has issues with the strike side! the chime wants to keep running. I believe it is an adjustment but that one is beyond me I'm not that good with movements yet!but it seems to me that it can't be a major issue. I honestly do not know why the chime is not stopping but a little wire is on it now to stop it so it runs great but is not chiming because of the wire I put on. The bezel the glass the pendulum and the key are all original to this clock.It has great wavy glass both top and bottom. Offered here is an antique Welch Spring& Company Verdi wall clock. This clock has the early B.B. Lewis patented movement in it. Notice the club foot escape wheel on this movement. There has been some restoration to the case of this clock. It is as follows: All of the rosewood veneer on the case has been attended to. With some fresh fill in pieces. The suspension spring hanging block was replaced with a solid piece of walnut. The bezel around the dial is a new old stock piece. Nicely fitted to the clock. The upper glass is a new old stock piece of glass. A new verge wire plate was installed on the pendulum rod. The movement was disassembled. Omnia Antique Omnia BZ Vienna Regulator Wall Clock– Restored Up for auction is an antique Omnia BZ Vienna regulator wall clock that measures 32 x 16 x 7. I purchased the clock from a local estate auction here in Martinez. GA. When I received the clock, the top trim piece was missing and the clock was extremely dirty from years of sitting. The glass was black from the tarnish, the pendulum bob brass was crushed inwards, and the movement was very dirty. I have restored the clock as seen in the pictures and it has taken on a new almost regal appearance. I do not strip any of the old finish or even remove all of the aged finish. I clean my cases with a mild cleaner/degreaser. This leaves the finish slightly darker than when it was new. This still gives it a“new” look but still leaves the antique look that it deserves. The Movement– I removed the movement from the case and completely disassembled it. I cleaned all the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner to remove the years of dust and build up on the plates and in the pivots. I removed both the springs from the barrel and inspected them. Lubed them, and reinstalled them. The movement was inspected for worn bushings and none were found. The movement was reassembled, oiled with quality clock oil, and adjusted on my test stand. The movement was adjusted for correct chime feature and for level. The Case– I installed a head dress I had in my shop that matched the case. The case was then completely cleaned of years’ worth of dust and dirt and a coat of wax was applied to protect the finish. I installed a new rear hook and new wall stabilizers. The Rest– The front face was polished to a great shine. I disassembled the pendulum bob. Popped out the dented front and straightened out the Bob as seen in the photos. Offered for sale is an antique Friedrich Mauthe free swinger wall clock that measures 43 x 14 x 7. I would estimate the clock to be around the 1900s. I purchased the clock from an estate in South Carolina. When I received the clock. The top trim piece was not complete and in a couple of pieces. There was one of the pillars not installed(I had the original still) and the very top piece was not attached to the clock. The very top piece was missing the decorative trim inside of it. The clock was extremely dirty from years of sitting. I have restored the clock as seen in the pictures and it has taken on a new almost regal appearance. I do not strip any of the old finish or even remove all of the aged finish. I clean my cases with a mild cleaner/degreaser. This leaves the finish slightly darker than when it was new. The original finish to the Rosewood veneer is in very good condition with only 2 tiny pieces missing in the inner ring on the left side. The paper dial has fading and wear. But is still very legible. I have a beautiful and rare Baroque Style Antique Vienna Regulator. The clock has been in my family for years. It is the exact clock listed within Rick Ortenburger's book: Vienna& German Regulator printed in 1979 Page 66 of the first book. Vienna Regulator with quarter hour strike made by Carl Saboy in Wien. Gold striping onthe case. 1880-1890. 8 day movement with a double rod strike. 48 inch case. It has not been running. But maintains original condition. The weights are not pictured because I have them put away! This a an amazing find.directly from the original collection. Antique New Haven Long Drop Regulator Wall Clock 8 Day Time Only Runs Great
This is a Wonderful Old New Haven Long Drop Schoolhouse Regulator Wall Clock. It is an 8 Day Time Only clock and it is all original. It has a large spring so I believe it is an 8 day clock but I only ran the clock for about 26 hour I needed the spot it was hanging. The pendulum the glass and the dial are all original to the clock. The dial is I believe the original paper dial it shows signs of age but gives the clock a great old look. This clock runs fantastic where ever I hang it it runs and my home is over 100 years old so nothing is level. I think the case is solid walnut and is not a veneer it is a simple case but a beautiful case. The two little rosettes look hand made and a little primitive. I'm not sure of the year I'm guessing 1890s but that is a guess. The clock is 33 1/2" tall 18 1'2" wide 4 1/2" deep ... moreand it weighs 12.5 pounds. Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Waterbury Regulator No. 18 Wall Clock Project Clock
This is a Stunning Quarter Sawn Oak Waterbury Regulator No. 18 Wall Clock C. 1893. This is a project clock it is missing parts both the crown and bottom trim are not with the clock. It also needs weights and the second hand. It does have it's original Movement. Dial, Pendulum, Key, and Glass. It also has it's pulley system. The dial is a painted dial it has finish loss but is still quite nice. The case is in very nice condition and I believe the movement is a working movement. The pendulum is in great condition and it is a signed key. The glass is wonderful old wavy glass with swirl lines. The weights for this can be found on Merritts Clocks I believe the numbers are CW117 and I believe for both it's just $16.50. The second hands are also easy to find. It is a large case there are some signs of age but it is a fabulous project ... moreclock. Thehardest part is finding or making the top and bottom trim but they are rather simple pieces not overly elaborate. The wood grain pattern is wonderful and it is a solid Quarter Sawn Oak. The case is 35 3/8" tall it's 19 1/2" wide 6 1/2" deep and it weighs 26.2 pounds. If you like doing project clocks you can't ask for a better clock than this wonderful Quarter Sawn Oak Waterbury Regulator No. 18 Wall Clock. From 1970 not bright white, with gold decoration, and in good condition 52 cm tall, 23 cm wide,14 cm deep, With 2 nice Delft Blue Tiles. The traditional Dutch clock chimes on the half and full hour(chimes beautifully) On the top atlas hold the world The pendulum is decorated with a beautiful piece horseman.
