The both have beautiful 5 toed Dragons and Phoenix on them(very auspicious) The frames look like they're from around the 1930's.one of which is a tad smaller than the other. The blue one measures, in the frame, 13" x 25" the other is 12" x 24 5/8" frames are also slightly different colors, some small chips and dings on the frames. I don't think the blue and gold one reflects quite as brightly as the pictures show,only if the sun was hitting it directly would it look like that. I purchased these from an estate in Carlsbad, Ca. along with a Chinese Civil Rank Badge all were framed around the same time at the same place in Hollywood which unfortunately no longer exists. This frame has lots of character. It is just how I found it. With plenty of patina, dust, and even some old cobwebs. The frame seems to be solid, and in good condition. Judging by the hardware and construction, I believe it is probably late 1800's(but I am no expert) I think it was a mirror frame, but would make a beautiful picture or painting frame. Up for auction today is this extremely ornate victorian or art nouveau picture frame. It is quite heavy and Very impressive. Will really make a statement on your table. Old World Sailing Ships featuring a winged cherub with torch on the side. The oval part where picture goes is in the large sail. Ornate detailing at bottom of ship. Has old brass metal easel stands on back and old brass round plates that hold the picture in. These are very heavy metal with a polychrome finish on front The cherub is sailing the ship with the ropes at hand and has a torch in the other hand. The picture area is 5.5 x 3.5. The top of the sail has a rod with some sort of serpent heads. it measures 13" tall by 9.5" wide. The front of the ship has some sort of head on it. The feet are of serpents. The cargo of the ship is flowers. Description*Please Read All of the Information in the Listing. Superb solid antique Edwardian oak picture frame with excellent curvilinear frieze/border& tramline detail to outer edge. Just 1 of several quality frames I currently have on ebay. Please check out my other listings, stock is continually arriving. This is an excellent Edwardian oak picture frame. Frames such as this were often used for family photographic portraits around the turn of the last century, this one dating at a guess to around 1910. Measuring approximately 24.75" by 22.75" with a rebate size(for your image) of 19.75" by 17.75" 503 mm x 453 mm) This is a good solid frame. A little on the plain side BUT when it comes to Edwardian picture frames less certainly means more. It is a super solid really well made piece. Extremely elegant& easy on ... morethe eye. A little on the minimalist side. It has a real'Arts& Crafts' kick to it. It's a good conker brown oak colour which has a nice sheen. T here is a quality of craftsmanship evident here that you just don't see in a modern frame. I have given the border a good buff& clean with a quality clear beeswax to bring up the grain& patina. CONDITION Very good condition. Wonderfully sturdy, fine solid joints, one or two bashes here& there mainly to the edges. Nothing that detracts too much in my opinion, please see photo 9, naturally a couple of surface marks that you see in all frames of this age. Age commensurate wear, no major damages. Moulding joint gaps a bit wider than normal. Frame liner partially loose, but that won't matter when it's hanging on the wall. All new hardware is installed, ready to hang. Old wavy glass present. Beautiful. Antique wood frame with beaded designs circuling the inner area and 4 large floral/leaf designs on top, bottom and sides. Picture of a young lady has some damage in the lower area but intact overall. Frame is stained reddish and original finish is still nice altho with some fading due to age and wear. There is a 2 1/2" outer edge missing on the bottom as pictured in 3 above. The missing piece has been stained and does not deter from it's appearance. For it's age, condition is very good. 25" x 21 1/2" x 1 1/4" and weighs approximately 5 lbs. The back is old pressboard which is still essentially intact. Old tape which was used to retain the pressboard has been removed and small nails used to stabilize the back to the frame. The glass is flat and in good condition. Buyer to pay S/H. Antique American Gold Leaf Picture Frame, Gilt Frame, Old Glass, circa 1850
Offered for sale we have an antique gold leaf picture frame. Probably dating from 1840 to 1860. This is a dark gold frame, that I think has darkened a bit more with age. The rabbet size is 24" X 15 7/8" with about 1/8" allowance) the outside of the frame is 26 1/2" X 18 1/2. The moulding is 1 5/8" wide. Besides the glass and old paper back, there's another 1/4" of rabbet depth. This is a great antique frame, but it does have some condition issues. As you can see in the pictures, there are chips on all four corners. Though there are chips, the gesso and gold leaf on the frame is firmly attached an has no inclination to chip any more. The bottom rail has darkened with age, and has dark discoloration in the cove. This you can see in the 6th picture. There are spots on the gold, but especially on the right hand ... moreside, in the cove. The frame was joined with splines, then nailed at a later date. The two upper corners are not tight, as you can see in the pictures. There's a chip on the side of the upper left hand corner that is not pictured, it would be close to the wall, not visible from the front. The side of the frame cants in a bit at the back, towards the wall. The frame has nice. Old wavy glass, a Victorian print, and thin crummy old paper backing. Due to the discoloration on the bottom side, this frame really should be used the way it's hanging now. It would be great for an antique portrait, early sampler, or vertical still life or landscape. It would not look good with the darkened rail being on the side, I think it would look lopsided. Please look carefully at the photos, and ask a question if you have one. Personally, I love these old, hard to find gilt frames, but this one is far from perfect, and if the defects bother you, I'm sure there are many frames in better condition available. Antique Birds Eye Maple Veneer Picture Frame, Small, Wide, Birdseye
Offered for sale is an antique birds eye maple veneer frame. This is a small frame. And very wide moulding. The rabbet size is 9 3/4" X 6 3/4" with some allowance. The outside size is 14 1/8" X 11" And the moulding is almost 2 1/2" wide. So this is a very chunky, bold frame. The sight size is 9 1/4" X 6 1/4" with a rabbet depth of 3/4" plenty of room for almost anything. This has a wonderful patina and original finish. There's a few spots where the veneer is missing. And you can see in the fourth photo, there was a piece of veneer loose that was glued down. I cut this frame down from a larger one many years ago. And never used it. It sits flat, isn't warped. Nice and t i ght corners. really problem free. This could be used for many things. And of course can be hung the other way. Wide Antique Pine Picture Frame, Cottage Shabby, Very Unique, One of a Kind
This was a n antique gold leaf frame. Probably dating from around 1900. That the gold and gesso have been stripped, and what is left is a wide pine frame. You can see in the picture that there's one line of gold left. The sides are mostly white(gesso) With a little gold still left here and there. This was probably a beautiful gold leaf frame. And the gold had started to come off, so some one stripped i t. It's actually pretty neat looking as is. But it's somewhat rough. There's some gold l eaf and gesso along the outsides. As well. I'm not sure exactly what shabby and chic is. But maybe this fits in that description. The rabbet size is about 7 1/8" X 9" The moulding is a good 3" wide, so the outside size is about 13" X 15" The depth is about 2 1/2" A nice. Deep frame, can be l eft as is. Painted, ... moregrain pa inted. Or possibly reguilded. Guaranteed that this is a one of a kind. And that no one has a frame just like this! It sits flat. This is a beautiful antique picture frame. The back says" Patented December 19. 1893. It is tin, and has a tin pocket for the picture to slip into. It had a black and white of my Great Aunt Rose( and I am 60) It has intricate stems and grapevines. It will fiThe frame is 5x8. The back top has a slight crack, but is not visible and does not show when hung from the front, and the frame is so thick and strong the crack does not hurt the integrity of it. This fun little country survivor dates ca. 1830-1850 and is crafted of soft wood(poplar? Pine? with original two tone red grain painted surface and brass hanging loop. The construction is all wrought nail and it retains its old thin wood back held in place with square nails. Antique Empire Regency Gilt Looking Glass Mirror Picture Frame Rope Twist Column
This superior ca. 1825-1845 pier glass frame is missing its dividing muntin. So could easily be hung as an over mantel. It is crafted of pine and poplar with worn middle to late 1800s dark glaze(to imitate wood) over brilliant original metal leaf and measures 39” x 19 ¾” x 2 ¾” deep overall with 33” x 14” reveal and 33 ¾” x 14 3/8” back rabbet opening. The surface is dirty and stable and very hard to describe: at time smoky brown and dull with some shiny areas of glaze punctuated by bright gold leaf gleaming through in areas of wear. It is very striking. One of the brass corner rosettes is gone and there is no mirror glass or backing board. Very sweet estate found late 1890's-turn of the century portrait of a baby. With a very happy expression, sitting on a pillow outside the front door. In the original frame with the wonderful original wavy old glass. Measuring approx. 14 in. tall x 13 in. wide. Some staining on outer edge of matting and typical chippy wood deterioration in the frame. Antique Victorian Embroidered Picture w Oval Frame 1800's
You can see that the holes on the sides were originally made with hand made nails. I do not know the origin of this lovely needlepoint or it's frame. Undoubtedly wool. And well over 100 years old. Antique gold picture frame from the Victorian era(late 1800s) It has a decorative dot decoration on the interior. The frame fits an approx 11 5/8 x 16 3/4 print or painting. There are geometric shapes lining the front of the frame and small flowers along the back of the frame. The edge has yet another pattern. The frame appears to be made of brass. But I'm not certain. Pretty vintage chic French blue antique gesso wood frame, distressed gold with hearts in corners and elaborate heavy floral swags. It is considered to be"shabby" in condition with a 3" section of gesso trim at edge missing at right bottom side. Smaller section corner left, left side tiny 1/4" section and right side bottom. These"imperfections" are camoflauged by the flat dusty french blue over gold except the right bottom side needs touch up to make the frame more consistent. see pic3) It is 1.5" thick with large 9x7" oval picture window beaded trimmed in excellent condition as are the hearts in the corners and flowers. for sale a great antique walnut center or parlor table att. thomas brooks. thick. Solid, and heavy construction as expected from brooks. it has the original insert marble top and the frame around it. some call these picture frame tables. the table has great form and beauty with buttons, medallions, carvings over the entire piece. the central pedestal pegs into the top support board with 4 pegs and then is bolted. the fours legs sit on their original brass casters. the marble is cut exactly to fit in the frame only one way, if you get it switched you will mess with it for hours and won't get the frame over the marble. the frame then pegs into the skirt and that only happens one way. i will mark the pieces for the new owner so they won't have trouble getting it together. i took it apart to clean it and messed with it for over 30 minutes ... moregetting it back together, so i did not take it apart to take any pictures. i should have done that before i put it back together. anyway, should anyone want additional photos, let me know and i can take it apart if need be. it is a fairly large table and nearly round. it is 36 inches wide, 27.5 inches deep. it sits 30 inches tall. it has great burl accents on the leg panels and skirt. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck.

Large 31cmx23cm Antique Picture/ Photo Frame With Applied VR Monogram + Crown Description: On offer is an interesting large antique picture/ photograph frame bearing the Queen Victoria monogram to the top. The VR and Crown are cast in what would appear to be silver plate(no hallmarks) and applied to the arched top. The surround of the frame is a deep purple cloth covered finsish. With a gilt mount and glass to the front. The reverse would originally have had a strut support, but a suitable replacement could be obtained if required. At the moment the frame houses a print of Victoria and this could be removed to add your own picture or photograph. Some discolouration and wear to the purple cloth that I have not attempted to clean. An interesting antique piece. Please refer to photos(all of which enlarge) Dimensions: 310mm x 230mm.
