Antique Victorian Red Satin Glass Miniature Artichoke Oil Kerosene Lamp We currently have up for auction an Antique Victorian Red Satin Glass Miniature Artichoke Oil Kerosene Lamp. This is a beautiful example of the Artichoke Lamp. There are a few minor condition issues which I will describe. There are 4 minor chips on the top edge of the shade which I have shown in the photos. There is one minor area on the shade which I will describe as a rub area which affect the way the red satin looks(see 3rd from last photo) The chimney has one minor chip near the top edge. On the base on the very bottom it appears that the lamp was"banged" and it created an inclusion(see 6th photo) There are also 4 minor"rub" areas on the base. No chips or cracks. Crystal clear, measures 3 3/4" tall. A rare example with an additional applied ring near the top. Original brass collar a little dented, but the threads on the inside look like they are still usable for an appropriate marriage burner. Hard to say exactly, see pictures close-up of the collar. You could wire it for electricity, or use oil for a really nice functional piece. It's home for many years was out in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. At one point in its history, Monot& Stumpf" located in the Paris suburb of Pantin. When we looked at a series of images of glass made by this company, while we did not find an image of this lamp, we found several images of items obviously made of the same style and coloration of this lamp. This confirmed for us that the lamp was in fact made by this company which apparently specialized in making all kinds of art glass items. In researching the company's history, we found that it was established in about 1850 by E. S. Monot. Initially the company specialized in making clear cut glass items, chandeliers and glass tubes. In about 1860 it started making colored glass items. In 1878 Monot's son and a gentleman by the name of Stumpf joined the company as directors. The company then operated as Monot& Stumpf until about 1900 when the Monot name disappeared from the letterhead and Stumpf was joined by three

This type of glass is generally ... morecalled"End-of-Day" glass because it is believed that glass like this originated at the end of the working day when skilled glassmakers took time to make items for their own use and experimented with using different colored glass which was left over from the day's production runs. While end-of-day glass may have originated this way, it seems obvious that at least some glass making houses intentionally made production items out of randomly mixed colors of glass. As we understand it, the process involved first making a simple shape of a single colored glass(in this case a white glass) then rolling that piece of glass over mixed bits(somewhat like a very coarse powder) of colored glass on a steel table(called a"marver" Once coated with the colored glass, the item was reheated and either blown or molded into its desired final shape. When made this way, the finished item is said to be"cased" that is there is an inner solid color of glass encased in the multi-colored glass. This bracket is most likely for hanging plants because it has an image of a potted plant cast into each side of it by the mounting base. Use it for what you like. It looks to be made out of cast metal.I'd make an educated guess and say it's aluminum by the fact that a magnet does not stick to it and by the shiny silver color where the paint is off on the backside, it looks like shiny aluminum peeking through the paint. Welcome. Offered today is an antique brass electrified hanging lamp bracket. This measures 29 1/2" from the top of the ceiling can to the bottom finial. This has a hook for a smoke bell and a 4 1/4" shade holder or fitter for a shade or globe. This is electrified and working with a candle socket. Not too sure how it would work by plugging into the ceiling but the wire could be cut and wired directly into a ceiling box. This may have been redesigned from an oil lamp bracket or fabricated to look like one. There is a fancy design on both the upper and lower middles of the bracket and a fancy lower finial. This is in good sturdy condition. The ceiling can just sits on a rod where there is a ring that stops it from going further down the rod. The shade holder has fancy flower set screws. Up for auction is an antique small metal combination oil lamp and candle holders. This lamp stands 6 1/2" tall and is made of probably pot metal. It's gold over the metal. The burner is an W.B.G. CORP. EL DORADO burner. I don't have the chimney for this lamp. I can find nothing like it on the internet. I'm not sure if you'd call this a miniature lamp or student lamp or just a small table lamp. I'm no expert on these oil lamps. I found it interesting that it's so ornate and has the 2 candle holders on the sides. It looks to me to be from the Victorian era. As you can see some of the paint has come off. The solid brass ornate canopy has it's original dark patina with no stress cracks also the holes the chains go through show little wear. It has many straw marks, some elongated trapped air bubbles, and the wonderful bottom wear from years of use that collectors like to see. This auction is for an antique Aladdin Model 7 Kerosene Oil Lamp. Believe that the burner may be a model 8. Possibly a 7. This lamp was sold in the US from August 1919 to August 1920. The retooled bowl top moved the fill cap higher and allowed more kerosene to be added. This is a beautiful lamp but is in need of TLC or could be used for parts. There are some dings and dents on the lamp. There is a small crack on one side of the lamp measures approx. 1" long and there is a small puncture hole through the tank(as shown in photos) The lamp is missing the fill cap and some parts to the burner like the flame spreader. Antique kerosene lamp or oil lamp being sold as is. Milk glass base with pretty detailed leaf design with green corner accents and beading and starburst design at the top with gold accents. Clear glass globe has some chips on the base. Base measures approximately 3 5/8 inches tall to the bottom of the burner and 3 3/4 inches across at the widest point. Measures 9 inches tall with the clear glass globe in place. Eagle burner has one bracket broken off and the wick will not move up or down when the knob is turned. The milk glass base has a diagonal tight hairline or flaw in the glass that looks like a hairline and goes across one side and around the green accented corner on the left side shown in the final 2 photos. It stands 18 1/2" tall to the top of the Chimney and is 9 3/4" high to the Wick Knob. The Base is 6" wide and the Font is 5 1/4" wide. The Font. The Base and the Top of the Chimney are Amber Colored. The Glass itself is not. I think it is like a Stain or Paint that is baked on when they are made because the Color will Scratch off. There are no Scratches on this Lamp. Antique Repousse Hink's Electrified Oil Lamp
You are bidding on an antique Hink's electrified oil lamp which measures 16" T X 8" W and is decorated with a large repousse bird on each side and eagle head side handles. It has it's issues. And I don't know all the part names so p lease use the photos for part of the description. I believe it's brass? and the top appears to have been melted? and some of the reticulated link around the bulb is missing some places and bent. I see a small hole on the side of the base and I don't know if anything is missing there. The font is intact, although I can't pull it all the way out because of the lamp cord.
