The images mirror each other so this ... moreis a true pair and the lamps feature two different views. On one side is a striped awning, draped pavilion with tiled floor. It's a party with elegantly dressed and coifed Lords and Ladies conversing while servants offer refreshment. On the opposing side is a lovely longtailed songbird in a rose thicket surrounded by butterflies. Both scenes are topped by raised golden lizards with long tails. The handles are green opposing or"kissing kitties" The"walls" dividing the scenes feature 2 pairs of scaled google eyed coy fish and abundant flora decoration. The surface of the lamps has a wonderful slightly raised texture where the paints were applied. The photos do not do proper justice to these fabulous lamps! They are large. Measuring 16 1/2" to the top of the vase and 9" wide. The mounts are antique brass and the bases are footed chinese wood stands in dark brown. I have just replaced sockets in both lamps and they function beautifully. The shades shown are not included in this auction but if you want them, I will include them in a separate box for an additional $100.00 plus shipping. In my opinion, these lamps really should have large custom made tall drum shades. This pair was purchased from a wealthy estate in South Beach about 10 years ago and are VERY FINE. I do not know the exact age and I am not going to take them apart to see the markings on the bottom of the vases. Ebay limits the number of photos to 12. Antique Dresser All Oak. White Marble Excellent Condition Beveled Mirrors Offered is a beautiful oak dresser or vanity. The outstanding feature is the white marble top and it is in mint condition. This is remarkable considering it's age. The dresser has 3 parts- the mirror assembly. The marble mid-section, and the oak base cabinet. The mirror is attached with 2 wooden rear slats which extend to the base cabinet& screws that hold it rigid. The marble rests on the base. It is solid and sturdy. It stands evenly on the floor. The buyer can take this dresser home& use it, guaranteed to have a major effect on a room when it comes to decorating. Guaranteed antique- not a reproduction. This will retain value- about 100 years old, perhaps more. DESCRIPTION: The dresser has a 3section mirrored top consisting of a frame with arching top ... moremolding with a carved horizontal over 1/4 round fluted side columns. The center miror is stationary with side mirrors that are hinged& swing out almost 180 degrees. All mirrors have wide bevels. Excellent silvering without blemishes. The marble section is white with a thin grey lines from the stone. It is not composit or manufactured stone. It is clean, no chips, no repairs. The mirror rests on the rear of the top shelf which is over a marble galleried backsplash and opposing side sections. The flat top surface is clean& smooth white marble, all marble is matching and original to the piece. The base cabinet has 2 pull out drawers over 2 swing out doors which open to a large interior with a center horizontal shelf. The base has 1/4 round fluted columns which match the mirror and a center vertical with carving and a burled oval decoration. The pulls are brass, the locks work, a key is provided. The dresser is clean inside, the drawers are not stained, there are no odors, was not stored in a damp location(it's in our house) the drawers slide easily, locks work, this is a nice piece of furniture. This beautiful late nineteenth to early twentieth century quartersawn oak sideboard has beautiful carvings including g riffins on top. Carved lion feet, a large beveled mirror with candle stands and long display shelf above as well as a lovely server surface, drawers and open cabinet space behind decorative doors below. The wood grains on this pieces are gorgeous, the front edge has a slight serpentine front and the detailed carvings including applique and trip work are spectacular and appear to be intact. This piece is on it's original casters so it can be moved easily. I show the casters in close up behind the decorative front carved lion's foot. This large sideboard stands 79 inches tall and measures 47 1/2 inches wide by 22 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely and easily in two parts. The base is 38 inches tall and includes ... moretwo small drawers, each 18 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back and 4 inches deep, one of which is a buffet drawer, lined in old maroon felt. Below them is another large drawer, 38 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back ans 5 1/4 inches deep. Below the drawers behind the two lovely doors with the beautiful wood applique is open cabinet space 42 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back and 14 inches tall. The top section of this sideboard measures 41 inches tall. The candle stands are 8 inches above the top work surface and the display shelf that runs the width of the piece is 26 inches above this top server surface, which is also the top of the base. The wonderful carved columns add even further to the beauty of this spectacular old sideboard which was purchased through an old Charleston family estate sale, so I can not be sure if it is English or American made, but it is a terrific cabinet and will make an excellent addition to your home or place of business. Art deco charles rennie mackintosh inspired welsh dresser. Well after much pondering we have decided to sell our family dresser. It was bought by my father in the late 1960's from auction and has been in our family ever since. For the last 10 years it has been in storage and we have now awaken it from its slumber. Trust me, if we could fit it into our house or our relations house it would not being sold, it is just too large for Mr Average's house, which of course makes it much more exclusive. These were in big demand in the 1960's and 1970's but then wained but now there is a resurgence for those that have the space to display them as they should be displayed. OK the bad points(not many! One of the doors does not close due to being stored on a slight slope, this is easily fixed by wedging the body over time or sanding down ... morethe edge of the door(a few millimeters is all that is required) One door is locked and the key is missing but its in our house somewhere and was taken down with the dresser happy to send it on once we find it(bizzare- we have this since the 60's and in the last furlong we loose the key! thats about it everything else looks ok apart from the od scratch here and there and some wood split of a hairline nature. The original mirror fixing screws are still present and come with the mirror. The mirror part is detached for the pictures. Which are not great as it was difficult to photograph in our garage(Steve McQueen is not for sale neither is the handsome chap reflected in the mirror! It is still very dusty but will come up fantastic with some proper cleaning and wood cleaning treatment. thats about it really. Its a sad day for me and short of buying a bigger house there is no way of keeping it. The body is 5 feet long x 2 feet deep x 3 feet 4 inches high. The mirror part is 5 feet long. 8 inches deep and 3 feet 4 inches high. This makes it 6 feet 8 inches high when assembled. It is broken in one spot which can be clearly seen in the photos. There is a beautiful decoration set atop the tortoise. On the back are large cursive initials I belive to be MPM. And would make a wonderful vessel sink vanity. Hand carving in solid quarter sawn oak shows superior craftsmanship- artistic detailing, graceful curves and raised and shaped panels. The original finish is very well preserved on this European furniture. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm honeyed patina. Embossed brass hardware is original, drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. There is a tiny chip to the marble, which has been polished and sealed to resist stains. Antique Medicine Cabinet Bevelled Glass Mirror Pistachio Green 16.5" x 12.5"
Hi there. This is an antique bathroom medicine cabinet. It is in good condition with normal wear and patina. It was painted with a brush in Pistachio green many. Many years ago. It has the thick and heavy bevelled glass mirror that is in excellent condition. This cabinet has a very neat and unique latch that requires pushing the button down with your thumb to open. This latch works excellent as well. This cabinet has a few naturally occurring cracks in the wooden back board. This is no big deal and could be left as is or could easy be replaced if desired. The hinges are solid and work smoothly. The shelves are very sturdy and intact. This is a very nice distinctive medicine cabinet with natural patina. It hasn't been touched for at least 60 years. No cracks, no chips, no missing jewels, slight rubbing of gild around ruffled neck and handles. They do have a few kiln flecks- common for the era Unmarked- before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891. The vases came from London,England. In the late Victorian period the vases where made for the UK/Europe market-the Tariff Act, for the USA only, did not apply Any questions. The Nippon period started in 1865; this period was ... moreknown as the Royal Nippon Period. This period exhibited itself by use of deep rich dark cobalt blues. Vibrant oranges, and intense yellows accentuated by extravagant use of lavish gold gilding upon pronounced porcelain forms and unique shapes. Most of the Early Royal Nippon porcelain did not carry manufacture marks. During the Meiji Period(1868-1912} much of the Nippon porcelain was decorated with gold. As we approach the latter part of the Nippon period after(1912-1921) Known as Late Nippon Period they become more conservative in use of gold and dark deep ground colors became less exuberant and the whiteness more revealing. Consequently pieces had less bold decorating and had more delicate and finer hand painted details to compensate for over use of larger floral and liberal use of embellished gold. Antique armoire dresser and vanity with bench and mirror. This bedroom set was originally purchased in northern New York. St. Lawrence County where it was kept for over 60 years. It has been stored at my home in Florida for about 10 years. The condition is very good considering the age of the pieces. There is some surface damage to both pieces. Beautiful antique ornate compact silver powder case with mirror and push button. I found on the button 3 marks. 800, hallmark and 67. I am unable to decipher hallmark. 800 silver was made in Germany, Italy and some other countries. The case has very pretty ornate design. I attached the photos to show a hallmark. I had to clean this part. Rest of the powder case is uncleaned by me. I bought it this way. It is in perfect condition and functional. Push button is still working. It is 2.25" wide by 1.5" long and 0.75" high. It needs cleaning. Otherwise in perfect condition for such old item. It weights 80.20 gr.

Wonderful Victorian hall tree with elements of Eastlake style. This piece is made from beautiful dark walnut and has a central mirror with bevelled edges. The arched top and middle panel have quintessential spindle shapes above a scrolled. Tray-like shelf. A circular brass piece on the lowest shelf was likely intended for holding umbrellas. Four decorative brass hooks are fastened along the sides for hanging coats and have long threaded backs that allow them to be used to affix the hall tree to a wall for stability. This is an antique lovely Birks Sterling silver marked 3 pc dresser set consisting of a mirror. Brush and brown tortoise comb in silver back holder. Engraved design on back of mirror and brush is scroll work and stripes plus a rectangle in centre which many times would have been engraved with a person's initials. These do not have initials but could be added if desired. Size of mirror is 12" to tip of handle and brush measures 10" comb 8" Mirror is clear and good- silver back on both mirror and brush has a few dents as is common for these pieces as they were used by the owner. Antique Period Early American Mahogany Tabernacle Trumeau Pier Mirror Empire
This ca. 1825-1845 solid mahogany tabernacle mirror features antique gilt accents. Ring turned half columns, and numerous acorn pendant finials. It measures 38 ¾” x 17 ¼” overall; 8 ¾” x 12 7/8” upper pane; 21 ¾” x 13” mirror. The varnished surface is absolutely original; some of the gilding has been over painted in the past. The mirror pane has very bad silver in the bottom quadrant and is missing a base block/plinth. The turned half column base has come off but is present. It retains the original chamfered thin pine back and double brass knob hanging array. Its upper pane houses an original 1860/70s original Currier and Ives hand colored lithograph, A View On The Hudson” that replaces the earlier reverse painting. This unusual horseshoe shaped mirror is intended for dresser or table use. It has two 3/4" brass ball feet and a hinged prop-arm stand to hold it upright. It has a 1 3/4" wide frame. I'm not sure of the wood. But it's tight-grained with the original finish& appears to be possibly cherry or mahogany. This mirror stands 12 1/4" tall and is 10 1/2" in width at its widest point. The frame is approximately 3/4" in thickness. The mirror has a 1" bevelled edge and its area measured to the frame rabbet is 7" W. x 8 1/2"H. The prop is 8" L& 1 1/2 W. The mirror shows some small areas of silver loss and the frame has some minor finish damage at the edges. But over-all, it is in very good antique condition. ANTIQUE CHINESE silk embroided, pierce carved wall mirror. Estate find
Just picked up this wonderful antique Chinese or Anglo Indian wall mirror from an estate here in Naples yesterday. In picture no. 3 I show the right corner of the frame has separated and needs to be reglued. The glue just dried up I'm sure. But other than that, with all the piercing the frame is in pretty amazing shape. It's all there. The frame itself is 30.5" high x 25" wide. The silk embroided panels on the 2 sides of the beveled mirror are 4" wide x 25" high. I took apart the panels gently on the back to show the hand stitching of the panels. I believe the silk embroided panels may be older than the frame itself, I pride myself on my shipping. And this frame will be no exception. Large Pair of Ornate Antique Victorian Gold Gesso Frames Painting Picture Mirror
Up for sale is a Ornate pair of Antique Victorian Gesso on Giltwood frames. These frames were likely manufactured between 1870 and 1890. The gesso paint appears to be all original. These frames are in great and hangable condition. There is some very light age appropriate wear. And one spot(pictured) of gesso loss that is easily repairable and difficult to notice. These frame are meant to hold a 20x24" piece.The back opening is exactly 20 1/4 by 24 1/4 inches with a 1/8" lip all the way around the inside on which the picture or mirror can rest. Turn the mirror upside-down and see the man's smile turn to a frown. Under that reads: THE MAN WHO DIDN'T KNOW. Measures approximately 2 1/8" in diameter. Printed on curl: The American Art Works. Coshocton, O. There is a stain along side of the mirror as shown in my attached pictures. The mirror has black spotting. Surface markings and residue.
