On offer is a wonderful antique miniature grandfather clock. Possibly an apprentice piece or maybe even a travelling salesman piece. It is a wooden cased clock finely decorated with raised brass panels. Fully working although I am not sure how you adjust the hands- info is welcome. Being well over a hundred years old it is in amazing condition. The hand painted dial is marked. C. Pailthorpe Louth for Charles of Louth a 19th century clockmaker. The paintings on the face and the are in very good condition. There are some nicks on the painted dial and on on the painted pictures but nothing major. The paint on the face/dial is not flaking or peeling. This clock stands 7' 5" tall from floor to top of finial. It is in Great Working order. Keeps time and chimes(bell) on the hour. The movement is stamped in the iron backplate"WALKER& HUGHES" This clock cabinet is in solid condition with beautiful woodwork throughout. Although it ... moredoes have a piece of the top right scroll work missing and a chip on the finial and a chip on the top door. I am not sure the purpose for this access hole.At some time one of the columns has been replaced and is not exact in it's turning but by look of the woodwork it is of the same era. Wonderful Country French Longcase Clock fron the French Jura THE CASE: The solid cherry Country French case uses mortise and tenon joints held with visible wooden trennels and has lovely inlays done in a rustic manner. Various designs of inlay are used including checker. Herringbone, diamond pattern, and rosettes. Below the trunk door is what appears to be the inlaid initial"B" Perhaps a hint at the identity of the original owner. There is a glass bulls-eye aperature in the trunk door allowing one to see the slow motion of the brass pendulum and to serve as a reminder to wind the clock when the weights appear there. The use of sunken panels and carved fluting are other elements of sophistication found on this delightful rural timepiece. MOVEMENT: The 8 day weight driven posted frame movement has original verge and crown wheel escapement ... morewith long fold-up pendulum and a brass capped bob. The clock strikes the hours and 2 minutes after in the manner called prayer clock striking. It also strikes once at the halves. These clocks are from the Franche-Comte and are often referred to as Comtoise. Morbier, Morez clocks or simply French prayer clocks. This is a very nice original 8 day painted face grandfather clock made in England by Gruddas of Durham.in perfect working order. But some times when clocks are shipped it can disturb the movement so I will sell it as is. The case and face are in very good condition it case has the original rich deep mahogany patina. It also has the original brass hands and chimes on the hour and half hour with the small hand ticking on the second. Measurements are 88 high. 20 wide, 10 deep. This is better than a new reproduction one which would cost more. Its a very good investment made in England circa 1850.

Beautiful Circa 1900 English Grandfather clock. It is being held in an antique store so it will be local pickup only. You can always go and see it in person. THE CLOCK MEASURES 109" HIGH. THE WIDTH IS 27" AND 18" DEEP. It is in EXCELLENT beautiful condition. The movement was made by Elliot Of London and the case would have been made by an extremely fine cabinet maker but these clocks were never signed. For sale is a nice antique miniature grandfather clock. Antique clock. The clock appears to me of English make, perhaps with a French movement. The clock stands 15" tall, and id nicely detailed, see the photos. The movement is a heavy solid brass platform escapement, and is clean and runs, but I suggest a good cleaning as it has not been regularly run for many years. The dial is porcelain in excellent shape. There is no glass lens over the dial, there might have been at one time but no trace of it now. The hands are nicely made in steel. The case is secure with no loose panels or missing parts. I think the clock has not been fooled with since new. I estimate the clock at about late 1890's, but could be a little earlier or later. Clock weighs about 2 1/2 lbs. There is no key, but it will take a standard#6, easy to find.

Rare Unique Old Vintage Antique Mini Grandfather Looking Shelf Clock, Folk Art?
Here is a very unique shelf clock. The case is solid wood and looks almost like an old grandfather clock. The clock itself is a smaller clock that fits inside the wood casing. The whole thing is about 16 1/2" tall. The clock face is about 2" I'm not really sure if this was a manufactured or folk art piece but I haven't seen another one like it. The wood case does have some age blemishes. Scratches, knicks, a couple cracks and missing a very small piece on top. The clock will need to be serviced as it is sometimes ticking and sometimes not. Antique Grandfather Clock made by Colonial Manufacturing Company in Zeeland. Michigan 8-Day German Movement The case is marked on the inside near the top on the back"4" and we believe it says"Mahogany" on the top inside. The clock is all original and keeps perfect time according to our Atomic clock. The older gentleman we purchased it from serviced just before we purchased it and showed us all the inner workings including the movement. The clock was made in the first years the Colonial Manufacturing Company was in business that goes back to 1899. The number 4 is more than likely the model number of the case according to experts on antique Colonial Manufacturing Company clocks. The gentleman we purchased from had it for many years and it was given to him by a friend who was also a pilot and flew with the gentleman in WWII. ... moreThe friend said the clock had been handed down from within his family and that his family was the original owner. That is all the history we know about the clock making us the third owners in over 100 years. The clock keeps perfect time and chimes the number of times of the hour on the hour. And once on the half hour. The chimes are about a minute late according to the time on the clock and we never made any attempt to adjust it. The clock is all original; glass. Finish, wood, key, lock, hands, pendulum, weights, chains, hinges, screws, and everything else and has had no restoration work done. Antique Mission style tallcase grandfather clock, pendulum and weight driven
DESCRIPTION Selling this unusual Mission style tallcase or grandfather clock. This clock was purchased by my father about 40 years ago as a Pequegnat Leader variant. But it is not. I have found out from fellow clock collectors that about 8 or 9 clocks of this exact style are known to exist in Eastern Canada and possibly the North-Eastern US. Their exact origin is not known. They are usually found with New Haven works, but are not listed in the New Haven catalogues. In the late 1800's and early 1900's, some companies did have"in house" designs of clocks made up by furniture manufacturers, and mated them with works from other makers, and this may well be an example of these. For instance, a company like Sears or Eaton's could have done that and sold the clocks as their own unique style. This particular example is in very ... moregood condition. And has Pequegnat long case works instead of New Haven works. The case is an attractive fumed oak type finish. The door is leaded glass with a functioning lock. The clock usually runs well, but not in my office at present as the floor is not level. There is a spot on the left side of the case where the veneer is lifting somewhat, and there are some minor scuffs on the edges and the bottom edge(see photos) The brass numbers have an attractive patina, as do the weights. I have included a number of pictures of the clock. From different angles. Please do study the pictures in the auction description. As they form an important part of the description. The flaws: 1. There is some lifting of the veneer on the side of the case. 2. There is some minor scuffing of edges of the clock case in places-see photos. 3. It does not have an upper back panel on it. Early Morbier Comtoise Tall Case Antique Grandfather Clock
A beautiful and unique clock. This clock is weight driven and chimes twice. Once at the hour with a repeat chime two minutes later. The face is porcelain with roman numerals and states"Brevet a Neuville Les Dames" The clock comes with a key to wind it up. The pendulum is hand painted with a flower theme. There is a partial label on the back of the pendulum which I have shown in the pictures. I personally purchased this clock in Zurich Switzerland from an antiques dealer in 2004 and brought it back with me to the states. Antique American Tall Case / Grandfather Clock c. 1810
I sell a fair amount of tall case clocks on eBay and this is another good one so you can be sure what I say is accurate. Reportedly from Kentucky and dating to around 1810. This 30 hour clock has a myriad of things going for it. Unlike PA clocks of the period with German 30 hour movements and a wooden dial, this boy has a hand painted sheet iron dial and brass movement. The case is superb with a carved shell, dovetailed bonnet, original base AND bottom board(never blown out by a weight) The finish on the case appears to be unmolested as does the paint on the dial. Everything has been together for 200+ years; no repairs to the case. No touchups on the dial. It never had a center finial. It is tall and slender, striking appearance in person. Lot of 10 Vintage Antique Used Metal Clock Faces Backings Mantle Grandfather
Here is a 10 piece lot of used antique/vintage clock faces. Mainly from mantle clocks. All are made of light metal. With the exception of 2 paper faces, one which has a brass ring. The metal faces are marked INGRAHAM. And the 2 paper ones are WATERBURY. They range in size from 5-5/8" to 6-1/2" in diameter. There are 2 metal clock face backings. One is 8-3/4" diameter, the other 5-1/2" diameter. There is also a 5-3/4" brass bezel. There is a single metal Grandfather clock face. Which measures 11-3/4" in diameter. These are all in poor to fair used condition. Showing bends, scratches, scuffs, stains, and some with cut edges. Antique American Oak Grandfather Clock c. 1925 CASE ONLY
Here is a raised panel American oak clock case dating to the 1920's. It supposedly was built from the same millwork as a 1925 lodge in Pennsylvania where it sat for many years. I bought it with an English white dial and movement that was installed likely after the original failed. Or. The original and case were separated at some time. Whichever, the English dial was a poor fit but this is a FINE case. Raised panels everywhere, drop acorn finials, bold cove molding, lots of detail. The shoulders in pic 3 are screwed in from the back and can be easily removed to adjust to a different seat board and movement. A brass dial and Westminster movement would be great in this case.
