It is very clean. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hour and halves on a bell. The movement is in excellent clean and running condition having fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The sculpture is made by a very famous French sculpturer. Named L.Guillemine. The sculpture is very detailed. The woman is standing on a tree stump with a birds on one hand and a basket with another bird in the other hand. She looks very happy with what she is doing. The sculpture has many beautiful details. The foot beow the sculpture is made of beautiful quality dark green marble with the movement in the middle of it. The marble foot rest on 4 gilted legs ... moreand it is also decorated with beautifil gilted decorations. The total height of the sculpture plus foot is about 70 cm. This is about 28 inch. The clock is complete with bell and key. It is an item that will last for a long time. Condition of the case is excellent. It is a beautifully made drum head clock in the classical style of Louis XVI. The movement is mounted in a large drum with super lions mask handles and a large urn to the top. It stands on an elaborate and heavily modelled base with laurel leaves and large scrolls and sturdy, reeded corner columns. The clock is modelled in the round and the rear door is glazed with frosted glass. This is a clock of grand proportions for a large room and will require a substantial table or mantle to stand on. EXTRAORDINARY ANTIQUE PHILIPPE FRENCH DORE BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK
This is a fine French Philippe bronzed antique mantle clock. It was made ca. 1875. Very impressive ornate ormolu from top to bottom. The dial has white porcelain medallions with roman numerals and a porcelain"label" Philippe FT. 66 Palais-Royal, 67, which was the address of a very upscale Parisian gallery. The glass on the front is beveled and appears to be original as is the beveled glass on the back door. The front and reticulated sides of the clock are a superb blend of golden bronze and ebony, as is the surmounted ebony, which could be onyx, and bronze urn finial. The clock has bronzed floral swags draping the urn and draping between the two full columns on each front side. The pictures describe the clock better than I can. The movement is marked G. Philippe, 66, Palais-Royal, 67. Clock measures almost 19" in height, approx. ... more11 1/2" in width, and approx. 6" in depth. Outside case of the clock is dusty and needs to be cleaned. The inside looks to me to be clean. I hung the numbered pendulum on the clock only for the picture so it most likely is not hanging right because I know hardly nothing about clocks. The pendulum will be removed and wrapped separately for shipping. On one side a leaf is missing. I do have the large floral ring that is off. It is not noticeable unless you are looking for it due to all of the fancy work all over the clock. I do not have a key but I think I can find one that fits. Please do not count on that if you decide to bid. If there are any other imperfections that I have not seen but show up in a picture, it will be considered as described. Antique Mother of Pearl Inlay French Picture Frame Clock c1880
This is an antique French Picture Frame clock. The frame of the clock is 18 3/4inches by 18 ¾ inches.And is in a Louis XV style. There are porcelain cartouche numbers held with bronze. The face of the clock is signed but we can not make out the name. We have not seen the back of the movement, so we do not know if it is signed. This clock dates circa 1880. The case is in very good condition. The dial has two small hairlines near the key holes. The clock winds properly(not over wound) but we were not able to get it to keep time for long. It has a dead beat escapement timepiece movement with pendulum inside a nicely finished wood drum case supported on a plain plinth. This clock has a white dial with Roman hours and moon hands. The backplate is stamped"VAP BREVETE" within an oval. The original instructions are still mounted on the inside of the brass cover on the back of the clock. This truly opulent mantle clock expresses the sentiments of the French Louis XVI period with utmost purity. It is surmounted by a remarkably well cast spread-winged eagle, it's claws grasping sprawling flames raised on a black plinth draped with flowing gilt bronze foliage; every minute aspect of the bird, even the pimpled skin along the toes and the lines of each feather, is detailed with utmost realism. The clock is divided down the center in near perfect symmetry, one side to the other; a bouquet of flowers are presented in a pair of urns, one black ... moremarble and the larger in alabaster, each resting on the stepped marble shelf flanking the dial. A finely painted and enameled presentation. Manufactured by Douverdrey& Bloquel of Paris circa 1900 Following careful restoration. This good quality clock is now in fine condition CLOCK DIMENSIONS: Height(with handle folded down) 4 1/2 inches(11.5 cms) Width 3 inches(8 cms) Depth 2 1/2 inches(6.5 cms) Please Note: I am not a dealer. I am retired and have had professional horological training. I have been restoring antique and vintage clocks as a passion and interest for well over 35 years. I specialise in antique carriage clocks. Earlier this month. I spent several enjoyable hours in my workshop completely restoring this classic fine quality carriage clock which was manufactured in France in around 1900( and probably aimed specifically ... moreat the wealthy Victorian British market) It is an 8-day timepiece only(i.e. non-striker) CASE: Solid brass in excellent original condition. All the case parts are stamped with the matching manufacturers batch number(154) Showing it to be completely original. It still has its original base masking plate(these are often missing) and the rear door opens and closes with satisfying precision. I dismantled, cleaned and polished the case and, rather than lacquering it, gave it a couple of coats of micro-crystalline wax polish to delay the tarnishing process: this also means that it will be easier to give the clock a light clean in future. The case now has a rich and durable patina and looks much as it would have done when it left the factory over 100 years ago. MOVEMENT: Top quality movement with nicely"blued" back plate mounting screws. It is stamped on the back plate with the Douverdrey& Bloquel trademark lion. I completely dismantled the movement to check it for wear(none found) I pegged it out and polished the pivots on the lathe before cleaning and polishing it. After rebuilding it. I oiled it with appropriate grade clock oil. I also dismantled the escapem

An antique French spelter pot metal clock figure statue in the form of a young man with an amphora form bottle and stopper. This seems referential to a trade. But I'm not sure which one. A chemist/ pharmacist seems most likely, but he may also be meant to represent a perfumer or a doctor. This has some wear and loss to the gold paint finish, several spots of discoloration and greening of the finish as well. The backside has two large areas of missing paint on his cloak. Marked LSF. Antique french Marti marble/polished slate mantel clock with marble inserts and columns. Runs beautifully. Has a key that fits(not original) and pendulum(pendulum serial number matches the movement so I believe it is original) Small chip in the slate off of the top side decorative piece(pictured) There are minor nicks on the slate on the length of that piece and under the clock base as well. Some plaster of paris is visible on the backside on the joints. We bought it for our collection but it weighs over 50 pounds and so it is too heavy for any shelf or desktop we have. Sadly. We don't have anywhere to put it. It's a quite large 18 1/2" long, 13" tall and 6" deep. Movement is an 8 day round brass one and is marked"Marti" with some serial numbers. I can remove it and take more detailed pictures if need be. ... moreI don't like fooling with these to avoid unnecessary damage. Has an open escapement with two ruby jewels. Has kept time perfectly. Chimes once on the half hour and up to twelve times on the hour. Face has an ivory or porcelain dial, no damage. Glass on front door is intact and firmly in place.
