Oustanding Ornate. Large and Heavy French 19th Century Figural Bronze D'Ore Ormolu Clock, in Superb Fully Working Condition Outstanding French clock in unbelievable condition. Depicting a woman reclining on a couch, eating grapes. Very ornate, large and quite heavy, with beautiful filigree dial, forming part of the clock's design. No damage that I can find whatsoever. There is some tarnishing on the clock's sides(mostly on the right side) but most of the gilding is just superb- the clock really shines. Pendulum and bell were removed to take a better picture of the movement, but both are included with the clock. Interestingly, bell attaches to the clock's case, rather than to the movement. I have never sen this before. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. Clock is running and keeping reasonably good time. And striking properly. The lacquer has worn and the brass has tarnished slightly over the years. It would polish up nicely. No dents or dings in the brass. There is a chip on the inside of the right side glass at the bottom edge as shown in the photos below. Back door has small chip at top right corner. All glasses are beveled. Couple of very faint hairlines in the porcelain dial. Movement is marked MADE IN FRANCE back plate is numbered 913. There are some other marks on the inside of the front plate but I can not make them out. Clock case is solid brass and glass. Circa 1920 possibly earlier. Antique Grandfather Clock Pre 1885 Possibly French Like A MOBIER - Civil War Era
This auction will be for a really well built antique grandfather clock. Truly built like a MOBIER right down to the movement being mounted to a frame suited to being hung on a wall. Also the crown over the dial resembles a MOBIER. There is however no markings to support it being a MOBIER but it sure looks like it. The clock case is slightly over 8' tall and solid wood.Without any problems or apparent alterations. There is some damage to the dial but not awful. It was serviced 6 months ago and has new cord for the weights. The movement is a bellstrike striking correctly at the top of the hour. Antique Silver Swiss Clock w Pink French Guilloche Enamel and Marcasites (#4125)
Antique hanging clock. Clock is Swiss set in silver with guilloche enamel and marcasites. Probably French and dating to the late 19th/ early 20th century. Measurements: diameter of clock alone is 1 7/8 inches. The mount is 4 inches long. Excluding ribbon and bar with loop. Total length is approx 7 1/4 inches. Exquisitely made and finest. Finest workmanship all round. Mount is silver with engine turned, pink guilloche enamel in patterns that seem to hover and dance as the light catches the surface. The bar that suspends the ribbon and rest of the piece is in matching silver and enamel. Both pieces are hallmarked on the back with 935- above sterling standard of silver. The clock has a border in blue guilloche enamel. Also engine turned, with a very fine pattern. It is set with applied numerals, all done in silver and marcasites. 18th Century Duverdrey & Bloquel Antique French Brass Carriage Clock -- WORKS!
Up for auction is a beautiful carriage clock by Duverdrey& Bloquel. It has retained its patina which gives it a bronze-like quality. I don't believe this clock has ever been shined. It may actually be bronze- we're not really sure. The mainspring appears to be fine and the balance wheel is moving freely as you can observe through the oval window at the top. The clock measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handle and 3 1/4" wide. The porcelain face is beautiful and the hands have turned a blue-ish colour. Not being a clock expert I am not able to guarantee its condition. But its owner assured me that it was serviced years ago and was in working order in the 1980's. I have since recently wound it and it has kept time. It has a new key that is not original to the clock. Invest in this gorgeous antique timepiece now. Gilt trim and garnitures. Fantastic hand painted flowers porcelain dial. Topped with a Aug. Moreau lady figure. About 24 inches top to bottom. Garnitures and statue have great patina. Untouched. The onyx is a beautiful wet green with fantastic marbleing. Some cracks in rear but still solid. Really the only negative thing I can say about this clock is that it runs a bit fast. For your consideration is a Beautiful Antique French Black Belgium Slate time only(no strike) mantle clock circa 1880. The widow of the owner of this clock told me that her late husband always thought this might be an unmarked Japy Freres movement but had no way of proving such so I am listing the clock as unknown manufacturer but definately French. The face of this clock is totally scratch and scuff free and the face surround is unblemished and shines as it did when first manufactured. The face features Roman Numerals. The body of the clock is inlaid with what appears to be marcasite. But I am not sure. The movement is brass with an advance/retard adjustment just above the 12. It is a nice clock and will make an excellent addition to your collection or a very nice first French clock. Antique LONGWY FRENCH FAIENCE MANTEL CLOCK w/ PAINTED FACE France G.F. RUNS 1932 Offered for sale is this antique Longwy French mantle clock. I know very little about clocks. So please bear with me. The Longwy case has the impressed number"1932" on it, I would think this is the shape. The movement is marked"G.F. The glass doors front and back work and neither piece of glass is broken. I gently moved the minute hand and the clock started running, and chimed when it got round to the hour. It also chimes on the half hour. I do not have the key, and it looks like the clock should have a pendulum- which I do not have. Please email me if you have any specific questions. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The clock is just over 10 inches tall. The base is approximately 7.5 inches by 5.5 inches. The clock weighs 5 ... morepounds 11 ounces. CONDITION: There is no damage to the body of the clock. The case is trimmed with scroll etching inlaid with gold and inlaid red alabaster inserts. This fine. High grade French movement features open escapement with gold gilded recessed dial with porcelain hour chapter, original blued steel hands, original pendulum with matching serial number and the wonderful French silver bell. There is nothing quite like the sound of these fine French silver bells when it comes to hour/half hour strike! The front bezel is original finish and works well Beveled glass crystal is tightly set and has no issues of any kind. The back door is original and retains much of the original gold gilded finish. Up for sale is this antique French clock movement. From a clock that was retailed by Bailey Banks& Biddle. Movement signed AD Mougin Deux Medailles, also has a number and the letters EM perhaps the importer or crafter? This is being sold as is for parts or repair, as you can see there is some wear and corrosion. One of the screws that attached it to the bezel, came off at the head so it is still there( this is shown in the photos) This came to me in a busted up marble case, I set it on a table and it ran for days, i have tried a few time since and it did not run again. This is I believe a French Mantel Clock Pendulum& Key. I got this from an old estate with the key taped to the Pendulum and the tag said mantel clock on it. I'm guessing it is a French pendulum but I'm not really 100% sure.It has a long rod as you can see. The key looks very much like a number 10 key but may be a hair smaller I have no way to test it's size but it is old. Weigh of the Pendulum is 4 ounces and it has a number 2 on it. This little one is so nice. Unique and beautiful. These movements Morez/ Morbier are sweet. Strong and more desirable in my opinion. It has a string and peg to disable the chime. The dial is a silver plated copper with engraving and it is awesome but not original to the clock( original dial would have been glass-back painted) The door glass is reproduction old style wavy glass so it looks good, the key and pendulum are replacements, it is clean. Oiled, springs lubed and running and striking properly. All the wood is strong and stable as is all the inlay Mother of Pearl. It measures 24 x 19 x 6 inches. I would guess it is right at 130 yrs old, I know it has many years to go and most likely to out live most of us. Left pillar has a crack and one chip off. All porcelain is with ornate gilt relief highlights around. The white metal(spelter) has all over regilded surface. The porcelain dial is with Roman numerals. French movement is in good running condition and striking at the 1/1 and 1/2 hours on a silvered bronze bell. Antique Sunburst Starburst French Wall Clock Gilt Wood Frame
This is a great antique clock dating from approx. 1900. I believe the origin to be France. The clock frame is a sunburst design constructed of gilt wood. The clock face is metal and enameled. There is a crack in the enamel of the face between the 9 and 10. The frame itself is in very good condition. There are 2 pieces of the starburst missing. 7 pieces are not attached but I have 5 of them so 2 spears would have to be reconstructed. At some point. The movement was removed and replace with a battery operated movement. Please see pics. Overall, I would classify this as very good condition. It will make an impressive statement in any decor. A large and stunning original French antique portico candelabra clock set. It is in the style of Louis XVI and is designed to show the gilt brass pendulum swinging visibly below the movement. The movement is supported above 2 Corinthian columns and an elaborate rear panel fretted with scrolling foliage. The break-fronted. Cushion shaped base is blind fretted and sits upon ionic capitals. To the top is an urn with pineapple final and mythical creature handles. Candelabra are conforming in style with urns upon four columns. The arms are elaborately styled as scrolling foliage. The original pineapple snuffers sit in the central nozzles as finials when not in use. It is beautifully and heavily modelled in gilt ... morebrass with finely chased detail. The dial is also gilt brass with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The gilt brass sun burst pendulum is probably original. GORGEOUS WATERBURY CLOCK This clock is so cute with a cherub holding bow and arrow and a great art nouveau feel to it. I don't know if it works. Probably not. It says Waterbury clock on front of it. There is a stress fracture on bow and on arrow but they are both attached and in his hand the bow might at one time come from his hand, not really sure. Other than that in good vtg condition. ANTIQUE FRENCH BLACK MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK Nice. Tight case with only a few minor chips at corners as shown. The multi-colored marble trim panels are intact and show no damage. Case is etched with flowing scroll pattern on the front. Dial is perfect with the exception of a small chip over the winding arbor on the 9:00 side. Hands are original. Hands washer and pin are missing but are an easy replacement. The movement is signed A.D. Mougin. Deux Medallion with star at the center of the stamp. This was one of the premier French makers of the late 1800's to early 1900's. It is the typical French drum style movement and is intact and in good original condition with good springs but has been sitting for some years and will need cleaning before it will run. The strike side is working as it should. Striking the hour and half hour on a coiled ... moregong but is sluggish. The Gilded inner bezel shows a nice finish and the original beveled edge glass is tight with no issues. Original pendulum is included as well as a well fitting but non-original key. The baseboard and gong appear to be original to the clock as well. All this clock needs is a good cleaning. Lube and the case cleaned and waxed and you'll have a real beauty! Measures 12 X 6 X 9 14 inches with a 4 3/4 inch diameter dial and back panel. Notice the pierced back cover with the original silk fabric still inside! Antique French A H RODANET Gold Gilt Repeater Carriage Alarm Clock with Columns
This antique clock is running and keeps good time but the winding mechanism for the alarm does not work and the stem for the alarm setting just spins and does not turn the arm. It measures 3 3/8" x 3" x 5" high(not counting the handle) and the dial is approx 1 3/4" wide. The brass case is in fine shape and it's either gold gilt or it has a different polish to the surface. The bevel glass has no chips or cracks. The repeater button does not work, and it's number 6924. The bottom is marked Grande Sonnerie, Silence, Petite Sonnerie and the lever you use is missing. The case has the same matching number underneath but the door was replaced, it's missing the strap with loss of leather, the corners have some age cracking, the interior is worn, the velvet has fatigue and it leaves a fine residue on the clock.
