You are bidding on a French Marble Mantle clock with ornamental urn. What is truly wonderful about this clock is the pretty much pristine urn. Which often times is broken or missing. Not the case with this clock as it is in wonderful condition, and will be removed and packed separately from the main clock case. The black marble has a good glossy finish and retention of the gold in the engravings, with marble columns and inserts in the base and dial. There are no noticeable marks, cracks or chips to the base. There are bronze fittings on the sides, claw feet in front, and an urn on the top with brass arms. Outstanding and Rare J. E. Caldwell 19th Century French Grande Sonnerie 15-Minute Repeater Alarm Gorge Case Carriage Clock in Good. Fully Working Condition Great and rare clock from the late 19th century. The condition of this clock is good. There is some bronze tarnish. And the front glass has two tiny chips. The dial has a small very well done repair to one of its corners. The clock and its movement could use a good cleaning, but the clock seems to run and strike well and properly and its alarm is also fully functional. It is, however, a good idea not to continue running it too much before its full clean to preserve its pivot bushings. The escapement looks a bit new to the clock, it may be a later replacement(not a refit from another clock, though, it has original perfectly matching mounting holes) Other than this I see no damage of any ... morekind anywhere. Antique French boulle mantel clock. The beautiful gilded bronze face with a lots of ornaments and enamel numbers for the hours will capture attention right away. As you can see the top of the clock is missing. Still looks great on display. The measurement between bolts supporting the missing top is 17 cm length. 7 cm width. All gilded bronze ornaments around the edges are present. There is a minimal lost of the boulle decoration. The clock had two names one associated with the maker of the body Roussel A Paris. The other is the mechanism maker Pierre Margolin Paris. The very unique key is included. The mechanism seems to be working. Needs to be clean and regulated. UNIQUE ANTIQUE 1894 ? French Clock 94 DEPOSE Hoibock? Victorian Statue woman w/
This is a very Old/Antique Clock I recently purchased at an estate. There's some engraving/imprinting on the back which I think what looks like a 94 might be for the year 1894. There's also a'DEPOSE' and another name toward the bottom that hopefully you will see in one of the photos. The clock is not working. I did unscrew the pieces holding it in and took it out so you can see it and some of the internal parts/mechanism. Again. It's not working. At the number 6 is a place that looks like it would be wound with a key. This is a statue type of what I would think would be a floor clock. It stands approximately 24 1/2 inches tall and side to side approximately 12 inches and front to back approximately 9 inches. There's wear but I think it's mostly from being so OLD. EXCEPT, UNFORTUNATELY, on the back toward the bottom, ... moreyou will see in the photo uploaded, there's a piece broken out of it. It looks like someone might could patch it if they wanted. I am not a clock person.so please forgive my short description. I know this one is nice and not a fussy as many clocks of this age. I have had this clock cleaned and it currently works. I love this clock and have used it for several years but I don't have room for it in my new place. It has 1664 on the back of the clock and clock base. It has 1667 on back of both the side pieces. The wooden base on one of the side pieces has a small piece of wood missing on one side(you can not see it missing if you are looking at it from the front. This is an antique mid 19th c French mantle clock by Henri Marc. A lovely clock and in a gilt bronze case; This is not spelter. But bronze. It depicts a figure of an artist on top with an oval painting on an easel and a paint pallet lower down and books and other details. It has a porcelain dial and moon hands. It has an 8 day bell striking movement with silk suspension that strikes on half and full hour counting the hours. It is fully working and comes with its pendulum and key. I have up for auction my' antique and very rare French made Silver Clock made for Spaulding& Co. Paris circa 1890 to 1920. The entire Clock Case is made on.800 fine Silver which is evidenced by the Boar's Head Silver Hallmark. Even after more than a hundred of hours of research online. I have been unable to determine the Maker from the Maker's Mark which is a French Horn with a"B" above it(now it is possible that instead of a"B" it is possibly a damaged"D" above the French Horn but under a 40x lighted maginifier, it appears to be a"B" The Silver Hallmarks and Maker's Mark appear on the rear of the handle, on the bottom of the clock's case and on the inside of the rear access door to the movement. In addition, there is the number"7" between the Maker's Mark and the ... moreSilver Hallmark on the inside of the rear access door to the movement. I have only been able to find one other identical Silver Clock made in France for Spaulding& Co. Paris and it sold in an Estate Auction and was sold with an accompanying Jade platform/base for the clock to sit on. From my research, Spaulding& Co. never sold or marketed these Silver Clocks with an accompanying Jade platform/base but the one I found, sold at auction in 2006 for $3,975. I can no longer find the link to the auction and although I thought I had the link saved in my' favorites on my' computer, it is no where to be found and could be due to me having to do a complete restore on my' computer in 2012 due to a destructive worm that infected it. I have great trepidation in selling this very rare Silver Clock because I believe that it's actual value is in excess of $2,000 but more likely in excess of $3,000 and although I am not looking to get a mint for the clock, I would like to get a fair price for it and at the same time, a price that the Buyer would feel is fair! I am listing a stunning Bronze gilded Marble clock and matching marble candleabra's. I received this set from a good friend who does architectural salvage. He found these pieces in a house in St. Louis Missouri while he was doing clean out salvage prior to tearing down the house. With that mentioned the pieces were covered with a layer of dust which I have cleaned the best I could. The clock weighs 22 pounds and does have a couple defects, it is missing 4 bronze column accent pieces has minor corner chips no key so it is untested. A spectacular antique French mantle clock with a marble base and a metal sculpture signed by A. Brossy. Titled"Hesitation" Absolutely one of the most beautiful and graceful French pieces of that period you will ever see. If you look very closely, you will note that apparently one piece of the lovely lady's finger seems to be missing. Otherwise, in excellent condition. I purchased the clock in France over 20 years ago. No guarantees are made that it will run or even that it has all the mechanisms necessary to restore it to working order. Nevertheless, it is a unique and beautiful piece of classic French art by an accomplished artist whose pieces appear at auction from time to time. It could certainly be made to work again by a clock expert. The clock stands about two feet tall and measures about 11.5 x 7 inches at the base.

It is very typical for the 19 th century. Or to be more specific, for the Louis XVi period and style that this work of art was made in. It could also be called a transition item. It has been fully checked and oiled by a professional clockmaker, and works and chimes perfectly and beautifully. The age of the clock set is around 1860-1880. First. The clock piece in the middle. We see a beautifully crafted figurine of a beautifully crafted man, holding a stick. He was draped in the most beautifully shaped clothing, almost silk-like. He is strolling gracefully. The quality of the maker is hinted at through looking at how beautifully the silk was draped onto the man, it seems to ... morereally be moving through the air. Also the details on the candelabras were very beautifully crafted, very finely made. The figurine has some light scratches due to the age. It has the original French time piece. That chimes every half and full hour. The dial was made from a nice quality and has the Roman numerals. It does have some really minor signs of age on the front of the dial. It is complete, with the winding key, bell, pendulum etc. It works perfectly. The clock piece is sturdy and ready for usage at any given time, and is to be beautifully portrayed on any mantle. The figurine has a beautiful stamp on it that says that it is called“ Brousseag” The timepiece is stamped: Japy Freres& Cie Gde Med. D’honneur” Who is Japy Freres& Cie?
