Having an elaborate faux painted wooden case, painted to look like ostrich skin, with chinoisserie style flowers, inlaid with mother of pearl, and with ormulu appointments. The dial is white enamel with ormulu surround and the ormulu pendulum is very ornate. The clock has an 8-day movement and it is in good working order, made by Chaumont of Paris, signed on the movement. The only damage I can find is a boo-boo at the base on the back of the clock. This is a stunning antique 19th century french gilt bronze engraved skeleton mantel/table clock under dome. The clock is in excellent near mint condition for age and sits eligantly on its red material platform under its original glass dome. Case It has a beautiful gilt bronze finish to the skeleton frame which has some superb fine engraved designs going all over it. These are all in mint condition and add an extra bit of quality to the clock. The skeleton frame is made up of various scroll designs which have a portico style to them with it making up two pillars ... moreeach side and through them you see the swinging pendulum which has a stunning display look to it. The clock sits on a oak base which has a beautiful walnut colouring it it. The base has a red material platform which the clock sits on, the material has some wear to it but is still in reasonable condition. The base has 4 engraved ball bronze feet that sit to each corner and have a bit of adjustment to help level up the clock. All the frame of the clock is made of thick bronze which has its original finish to it and is all in excellent near mint condition condition. It is in fantastic condition for age as you can see from the photographs including the glass dome. Antique / Vintage FRENCH MANTLE CLOCK ~ CASE w/ Marble-like Insert
ANTIQUE FRENCH CLOCK STAND/BASE Antique French case/stand with marble-like insertsc(I don't know the exact material. But it is translucent) There were some notes that accompanied this that mentioned 19th century"gilt bronze" but again, I don't know details. This is approximately 11" tall. 4 1/4" wide, 3 5/8" deep and weighs a little over 2 Lbs. The front and back openings are approx. 3 5/8" On inspection. I see 4 things worth mentioning(see below) 1) Small tip was repaired. 2) Both sides: something was once attached? 3) Missing leaf. 4) Small areas(no specific spot) look lighter colored like they were touched up at one point. Up for auction is this Stunning Antique Gilt Bronze Figural Mantle Clock ~ Man Writing with Quill Pen. I really don't know anything about it since it was purchased from an Estate. The figure is in Amazing condition. The base which I believe is marble does have a crack in the front, I think it can easily be repaired. I was told by the peson selling it that it does run, but I know nothing about clocks and I could not get it going. Antique. French, Clock and Long Case, 1850-1870, Mobier. 7-8 day, double strike. Dial surround is made out of pressed sheet brass. Shows a harvest relief, pendulum weight is a polished brass disc(approx. 12 cm diameter) and it is attached to a folding pendulum rod that attaches below the clock face. The pendulum moves in front of weights, verge escapement. Mobier clocks were always made at homes often by farmers, and were supplied as a movement only, without housing or weights. The village carpenter then produced the housing and the village blacksmith made the driving weights. The case is hand hewn with a bulge at the middle to make room for the pendulum, and hand painted with red roses and garland.The case stands over 6ft tall. This is a complex antique. Up for auction is a rare original antique French clock featuring a cherub swinging back and forth as the pendulum. This is the Farcot version. Patented by Farcot in 1862. The front plate of the movement is skeletonized and is visible through the center of the dial. The case is made ofthe semi-translucent rock alabaster. The original cherub pendulum is gilt metal. The dial is enamel in the form of a ring around the center which is open to allow the skeletonized movement to be seen. The French movement is by Farcot and runs for 8 days on one wind. The clock runs and keeps time well. Condition of the case is fair for the age. Alabaster is a delicate material and there are marks, discoloration and nibbles to the edges. Antique Tiffany & Co. French Sonnerie Repeater Carriage Clock, Alarm Circa:1885
This is a Fabulous Tiffany& Co. French Sonnerie Repeater Carriage Clock I believe the Circa: is1885. The case is in a very heavy brass. With 4 way beveled glass and an oval observation glass to the top that is also beveled glass. The clock strikes the hour, 1/4 hour, 1/2 hour, and 3/4 hour. When the repeating button is pressed, the striking mechanism is the same, depending on the exact time the sequence is activated.eg, the time of 10.50, will allow 10 strikes for the hour, followed by 3 strikes to show that the time is after 10.45, and before 11.00. There are 2 hammers, sounding on a coiled gong and one for the alarm. I hope I am correct on those chime facts it is rather hard to figure out the chimes but they do sound wonderful. Sadly the dial face does have some damage that is noticeable when you are close I did check and the cost for ... morerepair is about $120.00 dollars. It's the original face and it does not really distract from the beauty of the clock so I choose to leave it original. Below the clock face is a 12 hour Alarm dial. There is a hinged rear door, to access the winding mechanisms, and to activate the alarm. The clock stands 5 1/4" it is 3 3/4" wide 3 1/4" deep and it is quite heavy it weighs 3.8 pounds. I have a key that works but it is not the original key the original key is missing! Thank you for your interest! Antique French Figural Mantel Clock- Bronze Plato on Black Slate & Green Marble
Antique French Figural Mantel Clock Up for bidding is this antique French figural mantel clock from the mid 1800's(1853 to be exact) This clock was purchased over 20 years ago from a large estate in upstate New York and has been sealed in a crate every since. Just had no place to put it and it is too striking a piece to keep crated. The clock was made by A. Raysall in Lagarde which is located in Montauban. A region in France, and is marked on the back: A. Rayssal 1853 Montauban. The clock case has a bronzed spelter figural of a reclined Plato holding a scroll which reads"Oui l'ame est immortelle" which is from Plato's The Republic and translates as"Yes the soul is immortal" The base of the clock is made of hand cut slate and marble tiles attached to an interior mortar base. Overall the condition of the clock ... moreis very good considering it's age. There are few damages worth noting. Primarily a crack in the slate on the top of the base that extends the entire width of the tile(see pics 8& 9) Also there are some minor chips on the around the base and some light scratches on the bronze figure. OLD VINTAGE ANTIQUE FRENCH OR RUSSIAN CLOCK UNDER GLASS DOME Item Description. Hi. I have up for sale this interesting early clock. I'm not sure where it is made. It looks either French or Russian and has two hallmarks on the bottom which looks like a double headed eagle and the number 20. Not sure what it's made of. Clock is under a glass dome which sits on a wooden base. Clock measures 9" high x 7" wide with the glass dome measuring a little bigger. I don't know who made this clock it is unmarked except for the hallmarks on the base. It looks to be a fairly old clock. One of the wooden feet is broken off the base. The glass dome has some chipping around the base and some scratching to the finish on the clock. i don't know if the clock runs. It is missing the pendulum and winding key. The clock runs good and strikes the hour and half hour on the little bell inside the clock. This is an 8 day clock that you wind up on 2 winders in the front of the dial with the key(included) The dimensions of the clock are 15 1/4 inches tall by 13 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches deep. The clock features a metal body and metal statue and clock case. With a marble base for the statue. Very nice old clock(19th century) The marble slab is scratched up where the statue man's feet were moving from being loose(see photo) The back of the clock shows some repairs as pictured. The 2 pieces of marble in the front of the base of the clock appear to have been wired in from underneath(this ... morecannot be seen without looking inside the bottom of the clock) There is no glass on this clock at all. I cannot see where there was ever a glass in the front of the clock. There is no sign of where any bezel hinge was so I believe there never was a front dial glass. The rear glass and bezel is missing. Although the clock is functioning now I would recommend a complete cleaning service of the movement by a clock professional soon. Antique French Napoleon Hat Westminster chimes mantle clock by Fontenoy circa 1930. There is not a lot of information on the internet about Fontenoy other than they were making clocks in the 1930s in France, they appear to be quite rare, there is one listed on e bay at the moment for £245 which is identical to this but has been refurbished. The case is in fantastic condition and would look stunning if it was waxed, the face has a few marks but I think it would come good if it was cleaned properly, the bezel does not close properly, it may just need adjusting as it does not look damaged, the movement looks in good order but needs a clean and service, that may be all it needs to get it up and running but I cannot say for definite. Up for bids is this very desirable French Walnut/Oak Cottage Timepiece in good shape. A little age shrinkage on the back panel but common for it's age(1870) It's 12 1/2" tall. 8 1/4" wide and 4" front to back, the great porcelain dial is 3 1/2" diameter and the bezel diameter is 4 1/2" it also has it's original pendulum and old replacement key. This Timepiece(I will wrongly refer to it as a clock) was manufactured in France for the French market. Most people who bought this clock were less wealthy, so to speak, That's why it's a plain item. It only tells the time and that's all they needed then. It has a beautiful porcelain dial and a heavy brass bezel with beveled glass and a nice brass handle. This is a superb beautifully hand painted floral and gilt clock case created circa 1850-90 by the Jacob Petit factory of France. It has a turquoise blue base with gold gilt raised decoration and a lovely colorful floral spray on the front. Overall excellent condition with no major breaks or repairs. Gilt has some wear and also the blue paint mostly to the backside. There is a small firing line in the inner rim of the open clock case in the upper left and a nibble to the right side. The firing line occurred in the make. There is some porcelain material on the bottom of the clock case between the upper part and the base that I believe is original and how they merged the two pieces. Antique French Clock Dial and Back Ring This is an old porcelain dial with a solid brass beaded rim. It measures approximately 3-5/8" in diameter. The dial has some flaws which can be seen in the photos. There's some shipping around the winding holes and between the 8 and 9. There's a fast/slow hole above the 12. The winding holes are approximately 3/4" from the center hole to winding hole and 1-1/4" from left to right hole. The name in small print is Raingo Feres Paris. It probably dates to 1820-1860. The dial center is approximately 2-3/8" The dial ring needs restoration as the fancy black numeral are partially rubbed off. The dial ring has some light scratches. There's a fast/slow adjustment hole at the 12 position. A porcelain center piece is included. It is not original and keyholes may not line up. A hinged bezel and glass are not included. Date: Around 1830/40(Charles X period) Materials: The column clock is made out of rosewood and all over adorned with fine detailed clear wood marquetry. The fine ciseled bronze enclosures of the colums. The bob of the compensated pendulum and the bezel are all mercury gilded- therefore they have this beautiful yellowish tone. The clock comes with the original iron Breguet hands, the dial face is made with a great love to the detail(see close-up picture below) The 8-day movement is equipped with one hammer. It chimes the full hours fully and the half hours once. The clock is also signed as you can see on my photos I have had the clock valued and it is no where near my starting bid I have started it at £99 to attract early intrest. Note I have the right to pull out at any time as the clock is also advertised some where else. It has enameled dial in very good condition with hard to find extremely thin crackle near numeral VIII and hairline near I. The dial is mounted into decorative gilt cast bronze bezel 96mm( 3,8" in diameter. The movement provided with silvered cast bell, pendulum, key, back ring a nd will fit an opening 88mm- 89mm( 3.45" in diam. Bezel to bell tip- 82mm( 3,2" Pendulum- full length approx. 160mm( 6,25" Movement plates are 81mm( 3,2" in diameter. early atmos wood case clock model 0 or model 1... vintage french old antique
here we have an early(pre 1929. I believe) made by J. L. ruetter. it runs on mercury and ammonia. glass tube inside the drum has broken some time ago and the contents have leaked out. pendulum wire is snapped.glass view window is cracked. the clock is all original and complete. Except for a few of the small screws that hold the back panel on, that are missing. i didn't even dust it off. serial# is 6793 the gears move freely and the verge ticks.the mainspring is good. Too. clock is to be sold as is. no returns. the information above was furnished by a professional clock repair/restoration craftsman who specializes in"investment clocks" I brought the clock to him to have it"gone through" And for him to tell me its condition. i intend to let the auction run. Antique Small French Baroque Bronze Rococo Clock
This clock is coming out of the estate of a clock repair man. It is definitely an old piece. Probably dates to the early 1900s. Nice small petite size. I believe it is gilt white metal. The clock face appears to be porcelain. It does tic and run but probably needs to oiled. Good used condition. 4 1/2" H x 3" W.

Scouring the Internet has produced no information about this piece and what it would have originally looked like when first made. This is a large wall clock case made from cast lead. Lead is a soft metal that casts detail very well. And this is no exception. A circular space to center with a back door for the clock. The front diameter is 10" with an inner lip. The surrounds of the case is amazing. A man and woman lay at the top with vine leaves and grapes as the extra decoration. Very fine detail to the figures and flora. The base of the extra decoration is coming loose at the base. It may not last the shipping. Even though we pack well. Lead cannot be soldered so the decoration will ... morehave to have a specialty glue to re-instate. There is also another piece that has come off the clock case that went behind the two figures. Will have to be reattached. She carries a water jar and he carries a small harp.Beautiful faces. The case measures( in its current state) 17" wide and 21" tall. AS it is made from lead. It is heavy and weighs 17 1/2lbs before wrapping.
