The 8 day time and strike movement is stamped with“Japy Freres ... moreMade in France” and strikes a coiled gong on the hour and half hour. Both mainsprings are holding and not broken. This clock features a heavy brass and beveled glass case which are in good condition with no noticeable damage except for a small dent on the center top of the clock. The porcelain dial is unmarked and is in good condition with one minor hairline crack. The clock's escapement functions properly when manually exercised. However, it will not run for more than a few seconds. The escapement works for a considerable time without the pendulum, so I think this is probably a beat adjustment, but this is only a guess. The chime side functions properly when manually turning the hands. This clock comes with a simulated mercury double vial pendulum and an antique key. The pendulum alone sells for about $70. The clock’s dimensions are 10” tall by 6” wide by 4.75" deep. This clock movement was purchased in a clock collector’s estate sale. Please check out all the photos for condition of this clock. It is in excellent working condition. It strikes on the hour& 1/2 hour with a nice tone. The clock has an enameled ceramic face with some hairlines indicative of its age. The crystal is thick beveled glass. The works are gilt with stamped hallmarks. The upper hallmark reads C. DeTouche. Fseur DE L'EMPEREUR The lower hallmark reads RUE ST MARTIN 228& 230 PARIS. C. Detouche founded his business in 1803 and went on to become one of Paris's better known jewelers and scientific instrument makers. One of his specialties was the making of clock s and watches which he made at his workshop ... moreat Rue St. Martins as late as 1875. The shop itself was a recognized landmark where locals could come to set the watches against Detouche's regulator clock which gave the time. Phases of the moon and the day of the week. Detouche also invented the turnstile counters which were installed at the Paris Exchange building and in 1852 was one of the first clock makers to set about commercially manufacturing electrical clocks. His first electric clocks proved unreliable and failed to capture the market. But later. Antique French Gilt Bronze Clock w Cockerel. Jewels Antique gilt bronze mantel clock. Made in France, 19th century. Measurements: approximately 7 1/2 inches high. A little over 4 1/8 inches accross the front of the base. The case stands on 4 turned gilded legs. Base of white marble with an inset row of ormolu scrolls in the front. Rectangular steps. Tapering towards a marvellous cockerel/ rooster finial. The rooster being a symbol of France, this clock would have some French significance. Golden gadrooning around the base and at different levels. The front with fantastic applied ormolu flowers and foliage surrounding a protruding ring of paste'diamond' gems which enclose the dial. Above, casket like dome surmounted with the cockerel. Excellent modelling with fine detail of feathers and musculature and one can almost feel him rustling ... morehis tail and crowing. Sides of case are fluted. The dial is Classic French mastery and beauty: white enamel with the numerals. Both Roman and Arab(for the hours and the minutes) in dark, cobalt blue. They are surrounded on the inside by a ring of flower swags- exquisitely enamelled in minute detail. The hands of the dial are also quite lovely- very fine gilt openwork. The mechanism of the clock can be seen behind a glass door. We do not have a key. Nor are we clock experts, but I believe that this clock can be put to work with very little effort because when I moved it, I heard a constant tick tock. For sale is a nice reproduction of an antique double sided brass clock. Advertising a French Restaurant in Paris. This clock is new old stock, from parts stored and recently assembled. The clock body is made of solid sheet brass, and by itself weighs 5 1/2 lbs. The lenses on the two hinged bezels are glass. The clock can rotate on the bracket, for viewing from different angles. Perfect for hallway, kitchen, restaurant, or other location which permits viewing from two sides. The hanging bracket is iron with antique finished redwood supports. Solid brass fittings hold the clock to the wood and iron bracket. Bracket can be attached to the wall with two long screws. The two clock movements are quartz AA battery type, made in USA. Antique wall Clock French original 1800-1900 French Country w/ orig. shelf
This beautiful vintage wall clock is French Country in style. The green and gold tones with pink flowers have a wonderful patina. The is some very minor cracking in the wood due to the age and the way it was made. This is where the wood was glued together before it was carved. This is a wall clock meant to sit on the matching original shelf but could stand alone on a mantle. The works are marked Unghans with a large letter J inside of a star as shown in one of the photos. The clock while sitting on the shelf is 35" high x 19 1/2" wide. It does work and dongs on the hours and on the half hours. I can't find much information on this so if anyone has any info I would appreciate if you would share. There is a round stamp on the back but I am unable to make it out. Posted with

Measuring the white marble base, which is perfect, this mantle clock is 6” wide by 11” long and the overall height to the top of the grapes, which one Puti is holding, is 13 ½” Constructed from solid Bronze this Victorian Clock depicts two classical Puti squeezing grapes for wine. The clock is housed in a large Bronze Wine Barrel surrounded by a grape vine. The works are marked, S.H. Paris” with the serial number 45458 Both bronze Puti and all the bronze ormolu at the bottom are perfect with the original gilding. Antique Very Rare French 5 Minute Repeater Carriage Brass Glass Clock 19th Cent
Very Rare French 19th Century Carriage Clock with Hour Repeater and 5 Minute Repeater Functions in Nice Fully Working Condition This is a very rare and a highly collectable clock. It has two repeater functions- the more common button on top for repeating hours and a very rare button on the back for repeating 5 minutes. In fact. I own six grande and petite sonnerie carriage clocks and this is only the second 5 minute repeater that I have ever come across. I am still highly debating whether I really want to sell it, but I do prefer carriage clocks with more ornate cases. This clock is fully functional- it runs and strikes properly, also both repeaters work perfectly. One side glass has a small chip(see the photos) Front glass has a tiny surface chip, so small that I have not been able to take a picture that shows it. Antique French Clock Movement by Mougin
This is antique French clock movement. Manufactured by famous clock master Mougin(has his stamp on the back plate) as I believe around 18 5 0. The movement came from old clock master estate and looks very clean(shining) and works(there was note in the box from clock master that the movement was cleaned and oiled. That the mainsprings were changed and that the movement works perfectly) The movement runs and strikes on the hours and half hours. Though I did not test it for a long time. The distance between keyholes is approximately 38 mm. B etwee n center and keyhole 14 mm and the center and the axle for a d justment 42 mm. I n the box together with the movement there was also the bronze bezel with the front door with the porcelain dial and pan. It will go with the movement. The dial has small damage near numbers 7 and 11. The dial fits the ... moremovement. Shown here is a French alarm clock in running condition with original case. I believe it to be a Bayard because of it's design and the lion on the dial which is its signature trade mark. However the name is not found so it cannot be guaranteed. Prior to 1930. Bayard was known as Duverdrey& Bloquel. So this clock was manufactured post 1930. Brass case has been polished too much and lost some of its finish. Dimensions are 2 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. Outer case is worn and white satin is in pretty rough shape. This is an absolutely stunning French miniature carriage clock. With a fitted leather velvet travel case. This clock is made in France and retailed in United States by J. E. Caldwell& Co. J. E. Caldwell has been a famous Philadelphia jeweler from 1839 and is still in business. The case of this small carriage clock is beautifully decorated by three guilloché enamel panels and outlined by a very intricately hand-made brass mask with gilt finish. The front. This is a beautiful Empire gilt/dore bronze and red marble clock around 1800-1849 made in France. it uses a French movement with silk suspension. It works perfectly fine and keep a exact time, The red marble case has few small chips on the edges and one large in the back right side corner. The top cherub is made of BRONZE as well with a very nice dark patina, his details are impressive. He was supposed to have two flutes in his hands that are no longer there. Maradeuse” by Francois Moreau" c1890-1905– red marble garniture case: dated between 1890 and 1905. It includes the key. A beautiful bronze 15” finial of a peasant girl holding a basket of fruit. The figure is incorporated with marble node& stand. The clock has a beveled glass door. The clock face appears to be reversed painted numerals on glass. The finial has a metal name tag with the inscription: MARADEUSE" Par Francois Moreau. The maker's mark. Louis Moreau is incised on the statue at the base, L&F Moreau” in script. France is incised on the back of the statue. The metal portion is spelter with the original gilded surface still very much intact with the exception of a small ... morearea on the girl’s wrist. Photo provided. This is a large clock standing roughly 22-1/2" tall. 13" wide, 8" deep. We will safely remove the pendulum in transit. CONDITION: The figure is intact. No breaks or repairs. The marble is very clean. Bright and beautiful. No chips, cracks or repairs. The clock works and keeps good time and the chimes work. However. The minute hand needs to be switched. It chimes once at the full hour and the full chime rings at the half hour. For instance, at 4:30 it will chime 5 times then at 5:00, it will chime only once. The figure will turn and twist on the case and needs to be tightened. The legs also need to be tightened as they wobble. They are still intact and strong enough to hold the clock firmly. Antique French Clock Porcelain and brass Sad Case
Here is or was a great French Shelf clock. Made of beautifully painted porcelain and gilded brass some one did not treat this old beauty well. As you can see the porcelain clock case is heavily damaged and then reglued back together none to well. The movement is intact and does run. I have included a key for it. The dial has some chips around winding hole. The base porcelian is intact. All of the brass parts are finely cast. Firegilt and then hand chased in areas. Clock stands about 8 inches tall. Was a very neat clock. I will ship this in pieces and each piece wraped up seperately. If some how one could remove the glue and restore the porcelain case( which if the glue can be removed) this would be quite wonderful and uncommone clock.
