As to age I have been told this is a 19th C. Japanese tapestry. This piece, featuring pagodas, is done in shades of black and gray over a cream colored silk backing. The frame is wooden with black paint and a thin line of gold gilt. Retains the original nails. As to condition, there is damage to the frame in back, as shown. This damage allowed some type of moisture to get underneath the glass causing the stainage you see on the tapestry. I have been told that this can be cleaned/restored.but I will leave that choice up to the buyer. I am not certain that this can be cleaned.once again, this is not my area of expertise. The tapestry itself has no holes, tears etc.it is in fine structural condition. Anchored at the shore of a quaint early American Dutch Colonial dwelling, which lies just behind the perimeter of a primitive picket fence. While primitive and naive in flavor. This is fairly representative of rural life in early America. Because of the primitive style. I initially assumed this was painted in the 1700's, however, I have since been able to get more knowledgeable information. This work is painted on a wood barrel lid that came from the famous P. LORILLARD& CO. Tobacco Distributors. P. Lorillard& Co. was formed in the 1760's. By French Hugueonaut Pierre Abraham Lorillard, who funded and was killed in the Revolutionary war) and it has stayed in the same family for more than 2 centuries. It is America's oldest tobacco company. The reverse of the barrel lid still has markings on it. And from those markings, the following observations were made: The name P. Lorillard& Co. and"Factory No. 10- 5th District N.J. Was the tobacco factory established in Jersey City New Jersey in 1870. So we know the painting cannot pre-date 1870. The ink is a rich cobalt blue dye. Extracted from leaves of Indigo plants. This ancient form of marking/stamping with natural dye pigment was replaced by a more efficient synthetic ink standard well before the turn of the century. Synthetic nigrosine ink was widely commercially available by 1870 and widely in use by 1875. The stamp mark"Gross- Tare- Net" While barely legible, is stamped to the left of the company mark. It is being sold as a single sheet, not mounted, matted nor framed, basically as seen in the pic, photographed against a dark background so you can see all the edges and actual condition. The map was actually printed in 1841, but depicts an earlier historical period, prepared by Houze, a member of the Societe de Geographie in Paris. A great map for anyone interested in this historical period. Overall a very nice example printed on strong paper with original handcolor in great shape. Size: The map image measures approximately 8 by 11(20x28cm) inches on a 10 by 13" 26x33cm) page with a margin all around for matting. As seen in the main pic. Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age with light tonal ageing. They have been numbered in India Ink in the corner. Other than a few minor specks in the margin and one small nick on the top edge. It is very clean with a nice overall antique appearance and superb color that would frame up nicely. Antique Full/Double Wood Bed Frame and Dresser - Eastlake
Eastlake? bed with carved detail includes sideboards and slats. This is a true antique so if you use the sideboards. You'll need to special order a full size mattress because it is shorter than standard length when sideboards are attached to head and foot board. I've used the head and foot board only with a standard full metal bed frame in order to use a standard full size mattress. This is a family heirloom. Passed down to me from my German grandparents but we know longer have room for it in our home. Eastlake? Dresser- 42 high by 40 wide- this is an old dresser with a lot of history- it has spent only 19 of those years with me so I don't know all the history. I refinished only the top of the dresser- there is a one inch diameter spill that has happened since but can easily be touched up by the next owner. All other imperfections ... moreare just from wear and tear due to 100 plus years of existing. Pictures do not do either of these antiques justice. When I was selling my home a number of years ago. This a Beautiful Antique hand carved frame from around the turn of the Century. Early 1900's. With intricate sculpted Gesso laid on a hand carved wood frame. Opening measures 19 1/2"L x 15 1/2"H with a 5/8" mounting inset. Actual frame has a 4" width. The Filigree scroll pattern of this frame is very detailed, with the holes having been carved out by hand(there are visible tooling marks. At over a hundred years old there is plenty of genuine wear and character. But only lost gesso on one corner and an outer edge. No glass. Which i prefer as the Post has a habitual way of breaking things. Antique Vtg Mountain Landscape Print in Gold Gilt Art Deco Floral Gesso Frame
This is a charming vintage gold gilt rounded and curved rectangular picture frame with gesso flowers in the middle of each side. And a mountain landscape print with glass inside. The frame is in good condition with some scratches and scuffs, and spots that were touched up with paint, but no gesso is missing. The print is colorful but a little faded, and there is no signature that I can see. The paper is intact on the back and there is a wire for hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 21" W x 17" H, and the print measures about 18" x 14" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Antique Easel Store Display Picture Frame Photo Jack& Norm Shoes St Charles IL I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! Oh boy. This one has a story to tell! What I have is an early 1900s easel style standing frame- as you can see, it's being used as a photo frame, but I do believe that is was a store display piece originally. It's actually made of steel, not wood, and appears to have its original creamy white finish, which is shabby, chippy, crackling, and alligatored all over, giving it a very primitive charm. But even MORE charming than that is the photo that is inside of ... morethe frame that appears to be period(although I did not open the frame- it is a photo, for sure) The image of the black and white photo is of two men standing on an old brick street, with young boys looking on from the background. Next to the man on the right is a bull wearing a sign draped over his back, and both men are holding onto the reins of the bull. The sign reads, Jack and Norm, Shoes- Mens Toggery, You Are Welcom To St. Charles, This is No Bull! Now, I'm told that this is from St. Charles Illinois, but the business is not one that can be found in my research. I wonder- do you think maybe they were marching in a parade? The story does not stop there, though. The backside of the frame has an original tag that reads, To Properly Assemble this Display Fixture, Remove nut from screw and attach base. Tighten nut with fingers, then turn the base to the right until base is firm. Do not tighten with pliers. Antique Art Deco Sterling Guilloche Picture Frame This is a lovely Art Deco picture frame that has been in my family for over 90 years. It was made in France by the Charles Gouy Company which was in operation from around 1879 to 1921. It is fully hallmarked for Charles Gouy and addition has the Minerva hallmark which denotes that the silver is.950 instead of.925. The guilloche enamel is in excellent condition; there are no chips. Cracks or other concerns. The measurements are: 6 1/4 inches high by 4 1/2 inches wide. The inside measurements are: 5 1/4 inches high by 3 1/2 inches wide. The back is made of leather. There are scuff marks in various places( mainly around where it fits into the frame) and there needs to be a connector to make the easel more stable. There are two ribbons. One on the easel and the other on the main part of the back, ... morebut something needs to be added. The frame is also in excellent condition with the exception of a small area that is slightly bent. The front part of the inner portion of the backing is made of silk taffeta. Huge meter. Roughly 8" x 8" x 4.5" and heavy(6 lbs) Nice graphics on meter face; has a patent date of February 11, 1896. This unit has not been tested so please bid accordingly. The front cover is no longer attached. There are two pins that hold it in place and they were once soldered to the inside of the cover. The soldering has failed; an easy repair. I have shown the unit with the top and bottom covers removed. Very nice example of early electrical instrumentation! Antique Foyer Wall Mirror Frame from mid 1800s Hat Form Mold
Here is an interesting excellent condition vintage mirror(thick glass) made from an antique hat form from around the mid 1800s which looks to be solid oak. The mirror glass is electro copper plated by Toledo plate company. The mirror is excellent and thick glass. The mirror could easily be removed to serve the purpose for use as forming your hats. The old markings say 6 3/4(hat size) and 915. There is a makers mark I cannot read but is something like"bramo" The hat form is over 11 inches long ways and 10 inches short way. It is 3 inches high. Hand cut dovetail joined box that is 8" x 10-1/4" at the back& widens to 10-1/2" x 12-1/2" to which is attached a 12-1/2" x 14-1/2" oak frame with mitered corners. frame needs to be reattached. Its not damaged in any way. the watercolor may be signed under the frame but I'm not going to take it apart to check. 19 1/2x14 1/2 in. Very old piece. I have no way of dating it.

Not really sure what sort of photographic image process was used to create this. But by the clothing it is a 1860 era picture. 5 1/4 in x 3 3/4 in enclosed in a sewn shut leather case frame. Seated In ornate chair well dressed bearded gent positioning himself for posterity.
