It is made from walnut wood and has pressed wooden leaves at the corner crosses. It also has an inside liner of gilt gesso around the picture. The frame dates to the 1880's-90's but it is holding an oil on board hand painted picture of flowers, possibly zinnias, in a bowl. It is colorful and nicely done and it is signed with artist, Bessie Hanson, and dated 1964. This is an antique photo. Framed on a tinned-back frame. The photo is hand-colored and of a sailor standing on a beach WWII era, I believe; the question is what beach. On the back, in the tin, is scratched the name Sydney, so maybe it was taken in Sydney, Australia though I don't know. This may be an Australian, not an American. Maybe someone who is an expert in uniforms would know. The entire framed picture measures 9 3/4" X 7 3/4" the photo is under a thick plastic and on a soft backing, then with tin on the back. Vintage 1940's Shelby Eagle bicycle frame antique bike part
I recenty took apart this vintage Shelby Eagle bicycle from the 1940's and have been selling the pies individually. This frame that is being auctioned had tire rims with a 23 inch diameter. The distance from handle shaft to seat shaft is 20 1/2 inches. The frame is 46 inches long. I tried removing the gooseneck and was not very successful. It could be retightened or removed by someonw more skilled. The bike is alll boxed up and can be shipped or picked up. The box is large 49x8x30 and can not be made smaller so if you want local pick up let me know. All boxed up it weights 25 pounds. I tried to see if I could remove just the wood and it did not look possible without damaging it. Have up for sale Vintage Photo of Military uniformed man from WWI. This is a studio original photo on vintage photo paper of a very handsome man. The photo is inside a very old antique wood frame. This is OLD! The photo has aged and is actually bubbled outwards from the backside of frame. The inside glass of frame needs to be wiped clean. It has some dirty areas on inside. Photo has some aged spots and discoloration but otherwise looks great. The wood frame itself has aged. There is areas of some damage, given its age it has held up really good. The nails on backside of this frame are definitely primitive(unlike modern nails of today) and old. The paper covering on backside is no longer, there is some areas where paper is attached, but mostly gone. The frame measures 27 1/4" H by 23 1/4" W. Lovely gesso on wood frame. Measuring 10-1/2" wide x 10-3/4" long, 7" x 7-1/4" inside. The subject is a beautiful, rather risque photographic portrait of a young man. Keep them together, or replace this print with a 5 x 7 of your own(the interior of the oval mat measures 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" There is a small loss in one corner. And a repair to the gesso decoration along a miter joint. Cracks throughout without losses. On the back is written"Theodor Hey 1900" I'm guessing the man in the print.
