Antique Paper Punch Motto Sampler in Carved Leaf Frame from 1880 v This listing is for an antique paper punch sampler. The sampler features the motto“Do Right and Fear Not” The motto is done in red thread. Around the motto it is embellished with stitching in gold and a blue/ green color. v I do not know the history of the piece except that it was found in my Mother’s attic after she passed away and I had never seen it before. It appears to have the original glass. Rough wood original backing, and has a wire in place for hanging. The back needs some more nails or staples to tighten the piece into the frame but I did not want to do that myself and thought I would let the new owner do it to suit themselves. v The overall condition of the piece is good for something 133 years old. The background paper is in amazingly good condition with no visible ... moretears. There is some thread damage on the motto and some separation in the corners of the frame. v The initials“L.D” are stitched in the lower left corner. I have“Deal” ancestors so I think it must have been done by someone with the last name Deal. v In the lower right corner the date“Feb. 1. 1880” is stitched. The"st" for first is stitched above the one(I guess the crafter forgot and added it after the date was done) v The sampler is framed in an antique carved wood leaf decorated frame with a gold wood liner. Other than the separating in the corners the frame is in great condition. v The overall measurement from the outside points is approximately 13 ¾ high x 26 ¼ inches wide/ the inside measurement is approximately 8 ¼ high x 20 ½ inches wide. v Overall I would ask that you use the pictures to judge the condition of the piece. An interesting and fine Victorian silkwork sampler worked by Anne Pooley in 1860. The sampler is unusual in that the design is a sampler embroidered in black surrounded by an outer sampler"frame" embroidered in gold-coloured silk. The black section has alphabets. Numbers and a prayer and the gold area framing this has leafy tendrils, religious verse and the name and date. It is loose. With no wooden frame, and measures 12 by 10.5 inches(30.5 by 25.5 cm. The sampler is in good condition with no missing stitches The photos can be enlarged for more detail and to assess the condition. I guarantee that this is a genuine antique sampler. Vintage Antique 19C Shell Cameo Brooch Pin with 10K Gold Frame~Woman& Cottage 10 Grams This is one of more than 100 estate items which we will be listing Over the next Several Weeks This large Victorian cameo brooch pin has a wide oval 10K yellow gold frame enclosing a carving on shell of a woman in gown in the foreground with cottage to her right and other buildings in the background against a mountain outline. The bezel-setting brooch with wire-twist accent around the cameo is 1 ¾” high. 1 ½” wide, and about ¼” thick at top and bottom ends. The pin has an extended shaft as was the custom around 1860-1895. And it closes with a C-clasp. The cameo is in fine condition with just a few. Tight age lines as often occurs— these are not visible from the front nor can they be felt with a fingernail. 2 Antique Lithographs- Countess Potocka and Baby Stuart with Frame
This offer is for two antique lithographs. The first is entitled"Baby Stuart" This is the one I am showing with the frame. I could not find any specific information on Baby Stuart. However. This appears to be a Polish child, probably from the 1700's. I did open the frame and under this picture was another lithographic print with the title"Countess Potoka" On researching the countess, I was able to find a duplicate of this same picture of the countess; however, her name is actually spelled Potocka. There are memoirs and many portraits and drawings of this famous countess. I would encourage you to research this subject as well as this depiction of her. She lived in the 1700's. Also at the bottom of both prints is printed"Published by Slausten& Co. The wording is too small to photograph that detail. Both ... moreprints are done on very course. Grainy paper. The paper is a brownish color on the back. I have provided a photograph of the back of the print in case this is of value to the buyer. I have photographed Baby Stuart in the frame they came in. As you can see in my photos, the frame is very friable and fragile and not in good condition. It appears to be approximately from the 1800's. I took photographs without flash to try to get the truest representation of these items. It does appear to my naked eye that the actual print of Baby Stuart is darker than my photo shows. I have not enhanced the photos in any way except to crop out any background. I do not claim to be an antique expert. However. Vintage Wood Door Front Frame with Double Doors This old doorfront was from a church. Possibly a cabinet or housing for a section of antique pipe organ. The pine doors open and close, with small metal hinges. The whole unit weighs about 40 lbs. or so. Measures: 69 1/2" high. 39" wide. The doorfront is supported by a frame of 8" boards across top and bottom, and along one side. This is apparent in the photos. Many great uses for this doorfront for your own project. RARE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE 1930"s "THE GOSPEL SHIP" SILKSCREEN PRINT / ORG WOOD FRAME
Here for auction we have a rare and wonderful print on fabric silkscreen lithograph of"The Gospel Ship" Metaphorical scenes conveying messages of Christian morality struck a chord with many as they often dealt with the trials of modern living. One example is"The Gospel Ship" A clipper is seen battling against the might of the sea its sails with biblical verse of nautical imagery. This print was a presentation that was given at the Adam Street Hall( off Duncairn Gardens) Sunday School for good attendance to Margaret and Jack Scally. The print is in near mint condition and measures 20 1/2" x 15 1/2" The frame with GLASS is in excellent condition and measures 28 1/2" x 23 1/2" There used to be a Gospel ship in Britain that went around the fishing ports giving services to fisherman. Prints such as these ... morewere popular in communities on the Western seaboard of wales, whose fisherman relied on Gods control of the sea for their livelihood. A fantastic old painting! This is a wonderful little painting of mountains. Sky, trees and bushes. I don't know the age or who the artist is. It does look very old. I fell in love with it about many years ago at an estate sale( a very nice home) in Winter Park, Fl. I paid $150 years ago. The size with the frame is 6" X 8" The size of the canvas is 3" X 5" The frame is gold and black and made of wood. It has a wire for hanging on the back. I removed the brown paper off part of the back to see what the back of the frame was. It is old board with very small nails. The painting looks to be on canvas with a board on the back of the frame. It is held in with little nails. The oil canvas has cracks and hairlines in it. It has places that are missing paint and some scrapes. The frame has rough spots on it where the paint is ... morechipped on the corners and places on the sides. This is one of the reasons I loved the painting(because of its imperfections) It does look very old. I wish I knew more about it. Please email me with any questions before bidding. Description: Antique English sterling silver frame pin with a deeply defined bas-relief laurel leaves design and the words IN HONOUR near the bottom. On the back there are four prongs holding in a beautiful large cabochon malachite stone. This is the way we purchased this piece. The malachite is certainly a later addition; we are not experts in this type of jewelry but my best guess is that this piece was originally meant to hold a photograph. This piece measures 1-11/16 high X 1-7/16 inches wide. It weighs 13.7 grams. On the back there are English hallmarks on the bottom including the k designating the year of make 1884. At the top there is a maker mark AEP as well as a large T. This piece is in very nice condition with no damage of any kind. This is an excellent very early American black painted primitive frame. Hard to date these early styles but my best guess would be late 18th century up until through the first quarter of the 19th century. Earlier than the standard canted molding styles of the currier and ives frames.and similar to the c1800 simple miniature black frames. Beautiful original dry. Crusty black surface with nice patina and minor wear. Flat molding with narrow. Channeled cushion(convex) molded site liner. Pinned corners(typical of Pa construction) with solid lap joints and original hanging loop. Frame measures 14 1/8 x 18 1/8 with an 11 7/8 x 16 rabbet. Found in central Pa. A quality.
