PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE COPPER LADLE w/RAT-TAILED WROUGHT IRON HANDLE
The copper ladle bowl measures 6" diameter. 2.5" deep and has a 10" handle. The ladle comes from the Pa Dutch Country area so I know its been used and has some age. The ladle is a little banged up and I feel the pictures really show the true condition. Pretty good silver tone coating on the outside of the ladle and the inside is completely covered.

I cannot find any markings but it certainly is a quality piece.the weight alone of the copper is amazing.The piece has a bar of copper on the reverse for hanging.Im sure as either a lamp or fixture hanger or as a plant hanger it would fit perfect in any Arts and Crafts interior. This is the only piece of its kind available on the open market right now and similar pieces from the same maker in similar condition with serial numbers slightly newer than this one are selling right now in the $200-400 price range. Don't be fooled by cheap imitations or forgeries. If it says Craftsman Inc. And the hammer and anvil look a little different, it's not the authentic article. If it looks new and doesn't have patina on it, its either a fake or it's been removed, killing its value. Any copper or silver piece this old WILL have corrosion. A Striking Hand Hammered Antique Napkin or Letter holder This napkin holder appears to have been crafted circa 1900's It is crafted of thick copper(Not the thin"foil-ish Type copper) and is absolutely hand hammered it features a very slightly domed disc shaped foot. The holder is attached to this foot via copper rivet. The holder is shaped somewhat like a sail with points on each end and a curl at the top. Each side features 2 pair of triangular cut outs. I see no marks or signatures of any sort but given that we are located in Syracuse. NY, we are within the home areas of Gustav Stickley, Charles Rholfs, Roycroft, Karl Kipp/ Tookay and Benedict. I believe that this attractive tray to be pre-1900 vintage. It is beautifully hand-engraved with a central cartouche. Its inside edge has an inticate hand-engraved border. The handles are carved like braches of a tree. Condition: Good- some visable wear to the silver and a few small dents on the outer edge. There is a circle left long ago from something left on it too long. The tray is misssing one of its bun feet. Magnificent! Very old wonderful door pull. Please see the photos of the back. I cleaned a small spot that showed copper. I scraped along the edge and it looks like it could be either be solid or plated with copper. I did not want to go further so as to leave it up to the buyer to clean it. There are layers of old paint or varnish on the front. This is truly a fab piece. On the back is signed RHco and MORTAIN. It measures 15 1/2 in long x 3 1/2 w. Antique weathervane in the form of a Boxer dog from the first half of the 20th century. The post and frame work are made of iron and the dog. Arrow and feather are made of either brass or copper. This piece is a flat vane cut in the shape of a tall Boxer, which is somewhat rare because Boxer's where not typically seen in weathervanes. This piece is in nice condition and has a nice surface. The directionals are included with this weathervane. It measures 18 1/4" tall and 33 1/4" wide.

Antique Vtg Lock Set Tin Side Plates Brass or Copper Door Knobs Sargent Mortise
This lock set came from an auction in Vermont. It does not come with a key. The backset is marked Sargent. The door knobs are made of either brass or copper. I am missing the screw for one knob. The side plates are tin. They measures 7 1/8" tall and 2 3/16" wide. The face plate measures 5 1/4" tall and 7/8" wide. There is quite abit of rust and use/wear marks.

This is a fabulous figure of a saint and it is pressed in copper. It is pressed in detail much clearer than the pics. The word saint is engraved below the figure. His name is there but not legible to me. The plaque measures 71/2" long and 5 3/4" wide and there is a cloth holder in the back for hanging the item. This is a very rare museum quality item. Mintage: 11.676,500 Jamie Hernandez: The Mint used two different style 3 digits to strike the date on 1873 Indian cents. The first date style is referred to as the 1873 Closed 3 and the second style is referred to as the Open 3. The Closed 3 variety can be distinguished by the 3 digit on the date. As it is thicker than the Open 3 style. On the Closed 3 variety, the ball serifs on the inner central part of the 3 digit are also located closer to one other, making the 3 on the date appear like an 8 digit. Check out our other items! Description This is an old. Edo era(1603- 1867) weighing scale from Japan. Judging from the shape of the case, this one is from the 1700's. These are often thought to be an"Opium Scale" This may have been true in China, but Japan did not have an opium problem. This was a general purpose scale(Called a"Hakari" most commonly used for small expensive items in Japan like gold, make up or when buying tobacco. The weight(photo#8) is positioned on the white'Kotsu' calibrated stick. The position of this weight on the stick counters the weight in the pan. The item to be weighed is placed in the pan or hung ... moreon the hook just above the pan. One of the two pivots is held in the hand and then the weight is slid down the long stick until they balance. The person measuring would then read the measurement on the stick and that would be the accurate measurement. This was before Japan was metric. The measurements are in"Mom'me" One Mom'me is equal to 3.75 grams. If the item to be weighed is too heavy for that pivot then the stick is turned over. The pan swivels to the other side and the person weighing then holds the other pivot and the weight is read from the other side. This is actually a very ingenious idea and it was used all through Asia up to the early 1900's. They were checked every so often and if the weights were inaccurate they were confiscatd and the owner had to pay a fine and for the repair of the weights. Up for bid is an antique F E& Co silver on copper tea/coffee/water pot with stand and warmer. 3 piece set. Very good condition with 1 small ding on the base piece which I have posted on the last picture. In total it stands from base to top of handle approx. 13 1/2 inches tall. Very nice detailing. Inside of pot is also in very good condition. Some copper is showing thru at the bottom inside. The bottom of warmer is stamped with an eagle and reads" FE& CO SILVER ON COPPER" Two other stamp marks which I can't make out are on either side of the SILVER ON COPPER. On the pot itself, it reads" SILVER ON COPPER" and two stamp marks on either side of it. Looking into this piece F E& Co stands for Federal Silver Co. NY NY. Made between 1920's and the 1960's.
