Fine Authentic Antique African Copper Handled Knife from Mali
Offered here for sale is an authentic antique African knife. That we believe originates from Mali. We have been unable to find an example of a similar knife, but the documentation we received with this piece states that it is an"African Ceremonial Knife- Mali" As can be seen from the photos, the blade has a very broad profile, a bit like a trowel, but is flat, and without any sharpened edges. The handle is wood, wrapped in thin sheet copper, secured with tacks. Overall length is 15-1/4" and condition is good, showing wear from use, but no damage or repairs. Antique Copper Architectural Flower Finial
A wonderfully detailed Architectural Finial with a floral design. The finial is made of copper with a fantastic patina and was used on the top of a building as decoration. Found in the Philadelphia. Pennsylvania area it dates from the mid to late 19th century. The finial stands 37" tall. One of the bottom pedals is partially missing and the stem has a crack in it. Antique COPPER ROOFTOP FINIAL BASE, Victorian Ornamention APOLLO
I'm not really sure if I've identified this correctly. But I believe that it's a base to an architectural finial. Its expertly handcrafted of heavy gauge copper. And shows great attention to detail. Note etched pattern around the middle and rolled edge at the top. The base is bonded to cast iron which shows the word"Apollo" and the# 14. The piece measures 4" high x 5-5/16" wide at the base. The opening at the top measures 2-3/4" across. There is also a single mounting hole on one side of the base that measures 5/16" wide. Weight of this piece is a little over 1 pound.

I f you're a dealer o r collector here's an interesting piece. It has some awesome w are on it. Great wel d points which may even be lead. Great handle which is comfortable to hold. It stands just shy o f 8.5" tall. With about a 5.5" diameter. It is footed with about a 1/ 2" ri se. Spout and main cylinder are rolled at the to p. As is the handle so there are no sharp edges. Most interesting part is the glass gauge which runs up the side. You can see in the 5th and 6th pict ure the inside of the piece where a float m ost likely sat in the track behind the glass window and came to rest in th e circular tray on the bottom. Antique Tall 60" Copper Lightning Rod with Milk White Electra Ball Globe
This is an old and very tall lightning rod with a very attractive milk white color globe with"Electra" printed on it in raised letters. The tall pointed rod has a point at the top and is non-magnetic. I believe it is copper. The frame work is magnetic. The frame extends out at the bottom with 3 feet measuring about 18" apart. The white globe is a bit unique having the word"Electra" printed on it. Each end of the globe has some rough edges or chips which is not unusual for these globes. It looks very good on the rod. These lightning rods and globes make very nice outdoor or yard decorations and would even be a very unusual and interesting indoor accent.

This bucket was used to pasteurize glass bottles of milk by filling the bucket up with boiling water with the glass bottles sitting inside a tray. The inside tray that would hold the bottles originally is missing. There are a few dents and wear marks. But overall still in pretty good condition and there aren't any holes. Vintage WAS Benson Copper Jug Up for auction is a vintage WAS Benson Copper jug. It is in good shape with 2 dents in the copper. I have not cleaned it in any way. Still has the insert and wooden? lining. The lid is unusual b ecause it is made of wood and the outer edge trimmed with copper. Not sure if it is a replacement. If so it is an old one since it does show corrosion and wear to it. It is about 22 inches tall and 11 inches wide at the bottom. It i s stamped on the bottom and the handle. Most likely dates to the 19th century, the frame is decorated in hand painted, tole ware/ toleware enamel embellishments formed as flowers, wheat sheaths and foliage. The center is set with a copper receptacle. The frame and copper insert are supported by a black enameled tray rising on shaped legs with clawfoot/ claw foot supports. All pieces are joined by a large central screw that appears to be hand forged. Before the invention of friction matches. Smokers lit their cigars and pipes and with embers from the fireplace or stove. Because glowing embers were difficult to hold with tongs, shallow bowls were designed to be passed from one person to another or placed on the table without ... moreburning anyone or anything. The monogam stencil was placed in position atop the fabric to be embroidered and a ink was brushed or dabbed over the monogram to mark the fabric. Here's a unique antique printer's type tray or drawer that would make a nice addition to an industrial or primitive antique decor. Use it as is or use it as a"shadowbox" to display small treasures. Miniatures and/or photos. It has strips of copper(or. Possibly brass) trimming the top of the horizontal-running dividers. This trim has a really nicely aged patina. The color of the metal and the fact that there are spots of green-colored oxidation on it lead me to believe that it is copper. The edge of the tray/drawer where the handle is located is covered in painted metal(as is the handle) The handle was designed so that a card/sturdy paper can be slid into it. I do not find a manufacturer's name or any other identifying information on it. It measures 27 inches x 30 inches and is approximately 1 1/2" deep(at deepest ... morepoint) It is being sold AS-IS in AS-FOUND condition with some dust. MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. View all of the photos and use zoom and enlarge. There are two small scratches on one side(see the last two photos) I wipes the item with a soft cloth and water to get off the dust. WEATHER VANE: Antique Piglet. Gilded Copper& Iron, 28" Tall x 20.25" Wide If you set your monitor at FULL SCREEN from TOOLS you will be better able to view the photos. This is a very charming Weather Vane featuring a Piglet which I bought in New Hampshire years ago. West of Nashua, near Milford Circle. It also served originally as a lightning rod. I removed the bottom end of the vertical supporting rod which had the remnants of the cables attached and placed the wooden block to give the rod its original height. The tripod support and the arrow are iron. The Piglet. Balls and top spike are all gilded copper. The piglet and top spike seem to have a mustard colored undercoat, which many of these old vanes have. When the gilding begins to wear, this undercoat helps to make it less apparent from a distance. This Weather Vane measures ... more28 inches tall and 20 1/4 inches wide. The tripod support is 11 1/2 inches tall. The arrow, 20 1/4 inches long. The Piglet himself is 9 inches long from his snout to his curly tail and 5 1/4 inches tall. The balls are 3 3/4 inches and 2 1/2 inches in diameter respectively. The spike at the top rises 6 1/4 inches from the small ball. Much of the gilding is worn away and the vertical rod has a great coat of verdigris. On the whole this Weather Vane is in pretty good shape and the Piglet still turns freely on his rod. The photos give a very good idea of the shape and color of this charming Weather Vane. Here is an inexpensive gift idea. Very old monogram stencil“ LF" or FL" L" +" F" Art Nouveau- Art Deco Made of copper. It is from Europe 1900. Never used. Condition is excellent. Not polished. There are spots on the copper. Size measure: 4 1/4" by 5 1/4" outside edge of stencil. Young European women and housewives received pillowcases. Shams, sheets, tableclothes, napkins, nightdresses, linens and other laundries from their family and kinship. The monogam stencil was placed in position atop the fabric to be embroidered and a blue powdered ink was brushed or dabbed over the monogram to mark the fabric. The blue powder can often be seen on old pieces that have not been laundered. The ink comes out after washing. Please take modern laundry soap.
