Geisha girl statue. Over a foot high. They were traditional female Japanese entertainers. Beautiful and decorated. I remember this statue in my parents house when I was little. They've passed away and I think it's time sell a lot of the stuff my dad aquired from overseas. He served in the Air Force for 28 yrs. I don't know anything about this beautiful statue. But it's extremely detailed and very well done. Very delicate and breakable. I see no cracks or real damage. But there are little paint chips here and there. You can see some in the pictures. It's probably 20 or 30 yrs old. I believe she once had a fan in her hand. But with the move and selling the house. I'm not sure what happened to it. Up for auction is this great older porcelain sign. It is for an Armour's Cream Station. Based on my research there was an Armour's Creamery that was around since the early 1900's and was based out of Fargo North Dakota for about 30 years- mostly in the 30's and 40's. The sign was made by Veribrite which only made signs from 1915 to 1965. So with that I would estimate the sign to be from the 30's or 40's. If anyone else has any additonal insight it is appreciated. The box is lush gilt bronze decorated with colorful enamel champlevé flowers and vine designs. The base has a keyhole(no key) and the box stands on four feet each of which is the head and hoof of a ram. The box is hinged and opens to reveal the original lining of tufted silk. The box measures 10 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" tall and 3 3/4" deep. It is in very good to excellent condition; the legs are straight and solid. The box opens and closes well; there is some age wear on the outside and also to the silk inside, all to be expected as this box is over 150 years old. This plate is intricately done in gold gilt with what I believe to be a hand painted cupid in the centre of the plate. There appears to be a signature below the cupids behind which looks like Syd but I could be totally wrong with the name. As can be seen from the pictures there is an obvious stress crack to this plate. I know for a fact that it was in a cardboard box wrapped in newsprint for the past 35 years. Prior history I know nothing of. The gold gilt has worn on the inside rim of the plate as can be seen in picture 3. In picture 7 I am endeavouring to show a chip on the bottom inside ... morerim of the plate. This may have been what caused the crack. This plate is 9 3/16" in circumference. My late husband loved old maps and bought this shortly before he died almost 7 years ago. He bought it at an antique show in Denver from a very knowledgeable dealer. As you can see he paid $70 for it. The text on that photo says: Carte Particuliere des Isles Moluques Bellin. J.N. 1750 or later. Nice view of several important islands in the northern part of the Moluccan island chain. These were part of the Spice Islands, and for centuries the world's major source of cloves. The Dutch who dominated the world market for spices in the 17th century, tried to limit the production of cloves to Ternate, and to Ambon farther south. Antique Authentic 1923 “Albert Knorr” German 44 Figured Maple Violin NR
Tonight. We will be listing three antique Violins. All three are fresh picks out of New Hampshire and have not seen the light of day in many years. Measuring 23 5/8 inches long, this figured maple violin is stamped in the wood Albert Knorr on the inside and has a paper label, which reads“Albert Knorr Markneukirchen, Made in Germany. Copie of Guarnerius 1923. The lower bout measures 8 inches and the upper bout measure 6 5/8 inches. From the nut down the ebony finger board measures 10 5/8 inches long and the overall length of the body, measured from the back, is 13 7/8 inches. As you look at all the close-up photographs of this authentic Albert Knorr Violin, you’ll see it’s in wonderful, clean condition with its original surface. There are three easily restorable problems. One is a 1 ½ inch long, very fine, not moving hairline, which starts ... morejust to the left of the ebony saddle. On the right hand pearling, in the middle of the center bout, is a piece of very old, white tape. This was not a repair, but something else, placed there by a past player/owner. This tape has dried hard and I am not going to try to remove it and I will guarantee that it is removable. The final problem with this exceptional Violin is a loose sound peg, which I can sear rattling around on the inside. The rest of this 1923 Albert Knorr 4/4 Violin is perfect and I cannot see any restorations. Along with this Violin comes a 29 1/4 inch octagon bow. The bow is unsigned and there is wear to the surface, but it is in perfect condition. Lastly, this Violin comes with a hand carved wood ebonized chin rest and tail stock.

The pitcher is decorated with a mix of transfer design and hand painted strokes. The cherub is transfer highlighted with brush strokes. While the scrolls are heavily gilded. The background is hand painted in soft cream color with blue clouds around the figure. The edges and the spout have gold trims. The handle was heavily gilded but presents some wear. The piece doesn't have any chips or cracks. But the base has an irregularity in one spot that was painted over at the factory. From an estate. A Friedrich August Glass violin ca. 1860-90 in an old wooden case. The inside label of the violin says: Fried Aug Glass verfertigt nach Antonius Straduarius Fies Fabrikat in Cremona 1736 I don't see any cracks in the wood. I know nothing about violins except for the research I found on the internet. It also has a bow w/no string and is marked Japan. I am sure the violin needs new strings as there are only 3. It came in what appears to be a very old wooden case. The violin weighs 13.9 ounces& is just over 23" in length. GORGEOUS ANTIQUE FRENCH 1800s WOVEN COTTON SILK TRIM VESTMENT COLLAR SALVAGE 1/2
This auction is for a gorgeous antique French 19th century intricately woven trim fragment salvaged from a silk vestment collar. Its fibers consist of cotton/silk threads and it is in two different shades of blue on front and underside(see Photos 6-7) The trim has a wonderful texture and the shades of blue are hard to describe. They are truly unique. Please see at a close view with the Zoom lens. It is so unique and simply stunning. I believe that this is hand-woven. But am not absolutely certain. It has such a great appearance in color and texture. This measures approximately x 1/2" It should be noted that this is so much lovelier in person. The photos do not do this justice. Since it has a shimmering quality, is much more delicate in appearance and is flat and thin. It is a treasure.

Beautiful Hand Colored 1887 Catholic Atlas This lovely book is a collectible you would be proud to have in your library. It is"Atlas Pour Servir a L'Enseignement et a L'etude de L'historie Universelle de L'Eglise Catholique" by A. H. Dufour. My 8th grade French is a bit rusty. But this appears to be a wonderful atlas concerning the history of the Catholic Church. It is written in French, and contains 24 double page maps that are hand colored. Most maps are large, a few pages contain smaller maps. Each page measures over 11.5" by 17" The date is 1887. The maps in this Atlas are quite fascinating. Not only do they show different countries and continents. They also show history. One map depicts how Europe looked in 771, one shows the paths of the crusades, another shows the route of Kublai Khan. There's ... morethe Babylonian empire and empire of Cyrus, and some that I don't understand(distribution of children? The maps towards the end of the book at straight forward maps of Africa and the Americas. This book is in good condition for its age. The pages are a yellowed parchment color. They came out more white on my camera for some reason. The paper is not white. The maps are all complete with no water damage or rips, but there are some age spots and places where the hand coloring of the borders and rivers has seeped through to the back of the page a little. The spine is loose and split along the top of the front cover. The corners of the covers are worn. The first few pages have some chips out of the paper at the top, but it doesn't come anywhere near the map outline. These unique maps are suitable for framing. This book is sold in aged, as-is condition! I have described this to the best of my ability but please feel free to ask questions, I am not an expert on books.
