Monarch China Montana Rose oval platter 12" made in occupied Japan handle shapes
MONARCH SERVING PLATTER. This is the Montana Rose pattern. There are shades of pink. Green, white, and gray on a white background. There is a line of gray around the middle of the platter and the rim has a thin line of gold. The ends have handle shaping and extra gold painting to help define them. There are a few spots where the gold has worn off, but the platter looks very good. It has a tiny black dot at about 6:00 in the photo. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is a line of gray around the middle of the platter and the rim has a thin line of gold. The ends of the attached platter have handle shaping and extra gold painting to help define them. Likewise, the spouts on the ends of the boat itself have gold outlining. There are a few spots where the gold has worn off, and there is a 1/4 inch chip on one edge of the boat. The platter part has no chips. The bottom has a tiny hole going straight up into the platter. There are no cracks or crazing. Occupied Japan Basket Shaped Wall Pocket With Parrot This is such a colorful Occupied Japan Wall Pocket! There is a large wonderful Parrot on one side and big. Bold flowers on the other. The period referred to as, Occupied Japan ranged from 1947– 1952. This fantastic piece stands approximately 6 1/4" at the tallest portion and measures approximately 6 7/16” at the widest portion of the body. At the widest portion of the base the measurement is approximately 1 3/8” front to back. Overall condition of this piece is Very Good to Excellent. There are no chips. Cracks or crazing. I see a very few paint slips which would be considered factory flaws. There is a nice creamy glaze and the inside of the pocket appears to be very clean. Monarch China Montana Rose cup/saucer made in occupied Japan footed gold trim
MONARCH CHINA CUP AND SAUCER. This is the Montana Rose pattern. There are shades of pink. Green, white, and gray on a white background. There is a silver/gray ring in the bowl of the saucer, and the rims each have a thin line of gold. The cup has the same pattern on each side of the outside, but the inside only has the little rosebud pattern facing you when you hold the cup with the right hand. It also has a pedestal bottom and a pretty curlicue on the handle. Saucer measures about 5.5" across. Cup measures 3.75" There is light wear around rims, but no cracks, chips, or crazing. This one was run by my church, which helps to get one's defensives down. Anyway, as I was looking for fishing poles I found myself in a closet full of ladies clothing. But it was weird because most of the items still had the tags on them. I mean like new, but the clothes were older styles. So I asked my wife what she thought and she said they were brand new vintage clothes that someone bought a long time ago but never wore. Monarch China Montana Rose cup made in occupied Japan footed curlicue handle
MONARCH CHINA CUP. I have several of these dishes to sell. But this listing is for only one. They are the Montana Rose pattern. There are shades of pink, green, white, and gray on a white background. The rim has a thin line of gold. Some of the dishes have more wear, stains, and discoloration than others. Most look very good. The cup has the same pattern on each side of the outside, but the inside only has the little rosebud pattern facing you when you hold the cup with the right hand. It also has a pedestal bottom and a pretty curlicue on the handle. Measures about 3.75" across and 2.25" tall. I'm listing a lot of Monarch china pieces. So check out my other listings here! Dark red jacket, blue pants, black shoes and gold collar trim and shirt buttons. Stripe of gold trim on the front base. Circa 1948-1952 According to the New York Times. The first shipment of post war Japanese goods arrived in New York City on August 10, 1948. The article states that all goods were marked"Made in Occupied Japan. Porcelain china marked"Made in Occupied Japan" or"Occupied Japan" was made between the end of WWII and April 1952 when the occupation by American troops ended. Japan has a long heritage ... moreof manufacturing and decorating fine quality porcelain china. This superb quality china has color that is bright and vivid on the high white background. This is painted on a blank of fine white porcelain with gold trim on the edges. The cup and saucer are tied together by the use of the same solid black and pattern on both. While this cup& saucer set is classified as used. There are no chips. Nicks, hairlines, or repairs to this stunning set. We can find minor wear on the gold on the outside rim of the saucer and the very bottom of the cup's handle. There appears to be very minor scratching wear to the vivid black color on the inner rim of the saucer(caused by the cup's foot) and no crazing. Please inspect the photos carefully. Both cup& saucer ping delightfully when tapped. The stand was used as a photo prop and is not included in this listing. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8" its height is 13/16" The cup which has a diameter of 3 13/16" and a height of 2 1/16" As collectors ourselves.
