Beautiful vintage cedar wood boxes union made. To hold a copy of The Holy Bible. The small one is approximately 5 3/4" x 8" x 1 5/8" deep. The box has a few nicks on the top side(see photos) but the sides and back are in very good condition. The latch and hinges are in excellent condition. The inside is in very good condition- a few nicks at the top inside corners but not bad at all. The elastic band that held the bible is a little stretched but still attached. With Heartfelt Sympathy" card included. The picture of Jesus looks perfect. The"Our Deepest Sympathy" card on the left is glued in. Back is stamped: Union Made- United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. District of Nashville. Larger box is approximately 7" x 9 1/2" x 2 1/2" deep. The front has fewer nicks that the smaller ... morebox but there are a couple of scratch marks and nicks on the top. A couple of small nicks on back side. But other sides, latch and hinges are in very good condition. Inside is in excellent condition. The sympathy card and elastic strap and in very good condition and the picture and other side of the box are perfect. Sympathy card on left is glued on. The back is stamped the same as above. On the back outside of the box, very bottom right side, there is a tiny splinter of wood missing- not sure if you can see in photo because it is very small. This is a beautiful piece of history- and a nice hard to find set of two different sizes. I have photographed and described to the best of my ability. I do not accept returns.

Vintage New Testament Cedar Wood Wooden Hinged Bible Box w/ Bible 1963
This is an older cedar wood box that has a hinged lid. It is a little over 1 3/4" tall and is about 5 3/8" x a little over 3 1/2" It does read New Testament on the top and reads Bedford. Pa on the one end. It comes with a hard cover New Testament that is about 4 3/8" x about 2 7/8" with 580 numbered pages. I do not see a date printed but the very first blank page someone wrote in pen: To(name) Sept 1963- From The Rev. name) and Family. At page 3 and page 34 it will lay open but the pages are fine. I did not see any loose pages, written on, torn or creased pages when I flipped through it and the cover is fine. The box looks on the older side but it is in overall excellent condition. Found in a big box of miscellaneous items I bought this summer at an estate sale here in Michigan. No room for it though. So it's priced to sell so someone can appreciate this nice item. I think it's cedar wood. But not certain. Age and original origin unknown. Says: North Conway New Hampshire on the front face. Maybe made there? Picture is of a Guardian Angel overlooking two young children. Box measures: 7.75" by 6" by 3" inches. Solid. Nice box. Hinges work well. No major damage I can see or feel. Up for sale is a Memorial Edition Illustrated Holy Bible in Cedar Wood Box. This Decorative set features an Illustrated Holy Bible that is bound in White Leather with Gold Lettering. Edges, and Trim and a Cedar Wood hinged box with an image of Jesus on the inside of the lid. This Set was made in 1976, in the USA by Union Carpenters and Printers. The bible has been gently used with very little wear. The front cover has some brown stains along the gold accents, possibly bleeding from the image on the lid. The image on the lid of the box has two patches of damage. The box has some scratches and nicks and one small crack on the lower back. The box measures 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 2 3/4 and the Bible measures 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 2.

This is a wonderful carved wood box to hold a HOLY BIBLE. It's cedar lined and looks like knotty pine on the outside. When you open the box. You get the wonderful scent of fresh cedar. On the outside top, it says HOLY BIBLE and there's a ray of light with a dove of peace flying toward it. The writing was all carved in. The inside of the box has"The Plan of the Master Weaver" story on one side and blue velvet on the other. The outside back of the box says that it was UNION MADE by the UNITED BROTHERHOOD OF CARPENTERS from the 4th District. The inside of the box is about 2" deep. It's about 6" and almost 8 1/2" long on the inside. There's a knothole on the bottom that they filled in. Please be sure to look at all pictures.
