For your consideration we have this beautiful solid brass water font. This is a genuine old piece that does show it's age. I have not attempted to clean this piece in any way but I think it would clean up nicely if one chooses to do so. Nun head vase vintage religious collectible catholic praying sacred church
This is a beautiful vintage nun head vase in soft colors. Gray habit, gold metallic paint for her cross and chain. She is very skillfully colored with neat lines and soft facial application. I see no worn places in teh applied paint, no chips or cracks. Hands are in a very delicate praying pose. She is made of porcelain/china. She measures 5 3/8" at highest point, and 5" at the widest point on the base.

Up for auction is this antique brass claw foot church candleholder/cnadlestick. It is nice heavy metal with raised embossed faces of Mary. Jesus and Joseph on the base. It has a nice long column which has some fine diamond etchings on it. I was told that it is from a closed religious order. It is in good condition except for some very minor dings& some wear to surface finish of the wax cup. The minor dings do not take away form the overall beauty of this piece. The dimensions of the candleholder is 24 3/4" high x 6 1/2" wide at base x 4 1/2" in diameter at the candleholder's top piece. Don't miss out! Would display great on any mantel piece. Which I believe reads, Painted Shrine Back Panel Cir. 1730-50 Fine Example of its Kind. The notation was obviously written later. This gothic panel depicts the Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus and protected by winged griffins or stylized eagles on either side. The detail is exquisite. The panel measures 24" tall x 31" wide and 2 1/8" deep. It was painted a satin black(Jacobean finish) on the front. Back remains unpainted. The panel does show some wear around the edges where the wood has worn and there are a couple of small repairs where wood was re-attached. The Ewer or Lidded Pitcher measures approximately 12 inches in height. 5 inches across the body and 4 inches across the base. The pitcher is in absolutely excellent condition with no dents. Spreads the word of God. A tall cross rests in the crook of his arm as he gazes upwards. He is a brown patina with subtle touches of gold in his curls and along the sash around his nude waist which cascades behind him. His body is carefully sculpted. You can notice the cut of his stomach, arms, curve of his spine and even the bend in his knee cap as he comes to rest. It is mounted on a wide round black marble base and is signed by artist Carrier. Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse(1824- 1887) trained as a goldsmith before entering the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1840 under the sponsorship of Pierre-Jean David d’Angers. He only stayed there for a short time before switching to the Petite Ecole to study decorative arts. Carrier-Belleuse worked in London from 1850 to 1855. Designing ceramics and metalwork models for companies. Beginning in 1857, he exhibited large sculptures at the Salon and received medals and important commissions. From 1851 to 1870, Emperor Napoleon III hired him to work on the rebuilding of Paris. Carrier-Belleuse’s work incorporated a variety of styles and influences including naturalism, Realism, neo-Baroque, and Rococo. He employed many pupils such as Auguste Rodin in his large workshop that produced series, editions, and variations of his sculptures The Art of Lost Wax.
