I have one souvenir ashtray from El Paso. TX, made in occupied Japan. It has a date embossed on the back of 1950. The back also is stamped Occupied Japan. It has scenes of El Paso and some desert cacti. It is made of a silvery type metal- I am not sure of the exact material. There are some nicotine or cigarette stains on the ashtray, as pictured. Unfortunately, I cannot place on it an exact date. The painted scene is light, as if a watercolor, and captures the look of a seaside"country" house. There are raised dots that surround the octagon-shaped cup and saucer. The scene on both pieces matches. The saucer. This excellent cup and saucer is called the Gold Orchard Fruit by George Zefton from the 1940's. It is in excellent condition. There is a very small chip out of the gold on the rim of the cup. On the bottom of the cup and saucer is"American Beauty hand painted exclusively made in occupied Japan" GZL USA 558. It was part of my mothers collection and we are consolidated items to move into a smaller home. I am not sure of the value and have done some researce.

It does NOT say"occupied" anywhere on the map or folder, but this was just after World War II, and the country was occupied. The map folds out to a whopping 42" x 30" and shows the islands, cities, roads and so on. The folder, closed, is 8" x 11" Condition is good. The map is complete with a few small creases around edges and light wear to the fold lines. The folder is thin cardboard. And there are a number of creases to edges, dog-eared and creased corners, soiling and smudges, some wrinkling and spots. Occupied Japan Dark Brown Iridescent Hand Painted Floral Teapot with Lid
This listing is for a very elegant dark brown teapot from Occupied Japan. The teapot has a slightly iridescent high gloss dark brown glaze with flowers and a crisscross pattern. As well as decorative arches around the lid. It had a close fitting lid. The bottom is marked with the same paint used to make the design on the pot under the top coat of glaze that says"Occupied Japan" in a circle, with the symbol TM(see photo, as the T is inside the M) in the center. There are no cracks or chips. However the pot has been used and some of the paint is coming off, especially on the lid and on some of the flowers. The flowers are raised enamel and painted on top of the glaze, while the yellowish-gold color is under the glaze. MEASUREMENTS: Height- about 6 inches Spout Length- 4.5 inches Lid Diameter at opening- 2.5 inches Circumference of ... morepot at widest part- 17.5 inches Diameter of base- 3 inches Handle Length- 4.75 inches One half of all items produced in Japan and exported into the USA after World War II from late 1945 until early 1952 were required to be marked to show they were from Japan. Made in Japan, Occupied Japan, and"Made in Occupied Japan" but only the last two marks guarantee the pieces were made in the Occupied Japan time frame. They are in the Blue Willow pattern. They were made by Maruta in Occupied Japan. The cups measure just about 2 1/4" tall. The saucers measure 4 1/8" across. All of the pieces are in good condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. There are some glaze pops on both of the cups and the pattern on one cup is slightly smeared in one spot.
